2. Flonase Flonase contains the corticosteroid fluticasone. It decreases inflammation by inhibiting mast cells,macrophages, and leukotrienes. It is used for the prevention of chronic asthma during maintenance treatment in those requiring oral corticosteroids and it is also used for nasal symptoms of seasonal/perennial and allergic/non allergic rhinitis such as itching, runny or stuffy nose, postnasal drip . Nasal dryness or irritation, nausea, vomiting, wheezing or cough may occur.
3. Allegra Allegra (fexofenadine) is an antihistamine that decreases an allergic Response by blocking pharmacologic effects of histamine. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes and runny nose. Allegra is Used to treat for rhinitis, allergy symptoms and skin itching and Hives caused by chronic idiopathic urticaria. This does not cure symptoms but prevents the onset of rhinitis and urticaria. Some side effects of Allegra are nausea, diarrhea, upset stomach, menstrual cramps, drowsiness, tired feelings, headache, muscle or back pain.
4. Robitussin Robitussin (guaifenesin) is an expectorant that increases the volume and reduces the viscosity of secretions in the trachea and bronchi to facilitate secretion removal . It is used to treat productive and nonproductive coughing. Some side effects are drowsiness, headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting or upset stomach.
