2. Future met will + hele ww
Gebruik je om te zeggen dat iets in de toekomst zal gaan
gebeuren. Je gebruikt will als je voorspellingen doet
zonder dat je daar bewijs voor hebt. In het Nederlands
gebruik je vaak zal of zullen:
• It will probably rain this afternoon.
• People won’t drive their own cars in the future.

3. Future met to be + going to + hele ww
Gebruik je om te zeggen dat je iets van plan bent. In het
Nederlands gebruik je vaak gaan.
• I am going to do some shopping this afternoon.
• They are going to play tennis tomorrow.
Je gebruikt to be going to ook als je (bijna) zeker weet dat
iets gaat gebeuren omdat je er bewijs voor hebt.
• Look at those dark clouds! It’s going to rain.
• My aunt is pregnant. She’s going to have a baby.

4. Future met de Present Simple
Gebruik je als het gaat om tijden volgens een vast
schema aan te geven, bijvoorbeeld een dienstregeling of
openings- en sluitingstijden.
• The post office opens at half past eight.
• The boat race starts at nine.
Future met de Present Continuous
Gebruik je om aan te geven dat iets binnenkort gaat
gebeuren. Het gaat om afspraken of dingen die
georganiseerd zijn.
• They are travelling to Canada next month.
• My sister is giving a party this Saturday.
