exemption permit approval

• Approximately eight (8) trucks per hour will
pour a total of approximately 570 cubic
meters of concrete into the shallow
excavation on the north side of Eglinton
Ave W, forming the future roof of the
station
• Trucks will stage on the median on Chaplin
Cres, north of Eglinton Ave W

tunnel level, are required to be
drilled into the road to assess and
monitor soil conditions around the
Avenue Station mining works.
• To do this work, two of three lanes
on Eglinton must be closed.
• To minimize traffic disruption for the
community, transit users and local
businesses, this work is being done
overnight.
• Paid Duty Police Officers will
maintain safe traffic flow.

Monitoring Work
• Equipment is

monitor
ground
movement
during
construction.
• To install the monitoring
equipment in the ground, crews
move from location to location
around the station area. Typically a
drilling machine is used to drill the
hole where the monitor will be
installed.
• If on the sidewalk, pedestrians may
need to be routed around the work
zone (sidewalks stay open).
• If on the roadway, a short term
lane closure is required.
