- Fed up of bills increasing out of control Energy costs have doubled in 6 years, still going up by 6-15% year. It is not ‘business as usual’. Doing nothing about your energy costs means your operational costs increase out of your control, whilst revenues stay the same or reduce.
- Wanted advice to see the wood for the trees
- Energy Appraisal was key – it focussed our attention on the quick wins/ no brainers With a structured, prioritised and costed improvement plan we were able to plan for improvements during maintenance & source capital for renewables
- Some steps are so simple and so effective – i.e. loft insulation, energy monitoring/ monthly billing Warmer cottages, happier customers
- With the information at hand you can secure grants and incentives at the best time Green Business Promotion has enabled us to enhance our product & market
- We have had a year on year drop in total energy use – 20% saved since 2010.
- Our energy costs have dropped as a proportion of our operating costs
- Better monitoring allows us to focus in on energy and cost waste
- Better Monitoring has shown some anomalies in energy use to investigate Occupancy & Weather now factored in We can quickly identify issues and act in an informed way
- We’re converts New buildings to high spec to minimise energy waste – cost effective on new builds Have approval to add large scale PV to power most of the site from renewables when/ should conditions prevail.
