This document summarizes research on Belgian CEOs' use of social media. It found that 89% of 150 CEOs had a social media presence but less than 25% were active. LinkedIn was the most popular platform (97%), followed by Facebook (75%) and YouTube (68%). The top benefits of social media cited were keeping in touch with contacts, finding new opportunities, and information gathering. However, many CEOs were still staying away due to concerns like privacy, lack of peers/interaction, and not seeing clear returns on investment. The research concluded that while some CEOs recognized social media's value, most were still hesitant due to these issues and the fact that few of their peers were actively using it.
