Stage 2 implementation at trial sites saw cycle times reduced by up to 46% with similar travel time and pedestrian delay reductions as the model. Simulation models were created to analyze different transportation models and number of buses. The optimal solution was found to be a sequential bus route with 5 buses, costing $77,080 annually. Spot speed study

Impact of the penetration rate of ecodriving on fuel consumption and traffic ...
Since many years, as a consequence of fossil fuels rarefaction and climate changes, ecology has become a major challenge of our society. In this field, many improvements could be realized on the transportation side and more precisely on passenger cars which are an important source of pollution. A quick and efficient solution to reduce fuel consumption and so, greenhouse gases emissions, is to adopt an ecological way of driving, called ecodriving.
However, is ecodriving really efficient in terms of mobility and environment at a global point of view? The benefits of ecodriving have often been studied for an isolated vehicle and rarely for a whole network. The aim of this work is to estimate the effects of ecodriving on traffic congestion and fuel consumption according to the percentage of ecodrivers in the population. This has been achieved using a class of ecodriven vehicles with a car-following model (Intelligent Driver Model) and with a transport simulation software (Aimsun). Results show that the effect of ecodriving on the traffic congestion and pollution is not linearly linked to the proportion of ecodrivers and this effect varies according to the driving conditions. In some cases, ecodriving is cons-productive and fuel consumption increases. Future works will concentrate on experimental validation, on modeling the effect of ecodriving on road safety and on improving the different models.

Simulation models were created to analyze different transportation models and number of buses. The optimal solution was found to be a sequential bus route with 5 buses, costing $77,080 annually. This solution would reduce parking search time, cut transportation costs, and lower CO2 emissions by 65% compared to the current system.

Spot speed study
This document contains information from a traffic study conducted on a road connecting various departments at a university. The study found that:
1) The 85th percentile speed on the road was higher than the posted speed limit of 25 kmph, especially in the straight section in front of the Biotechnology department.
2) Bicycles made up the majority of vehicles on the road, with generally low traffic during the day.
3) Speed breakers were not fully effective in reducing speeds to the limit, and adding another breaker in front of the Biotechnology department was recommended.

Since many years, as a consequence of fossil fuels rarefaction and climate changes, ecology has become a major challenge of our society. In this field, many improvements could be realized on the transportation side and more precisely on passenger cars which are an important source of pollution. A quick and efficient solution to reduce fuel consumption and so, greenhouse gases emissions, is to adopt an ecological way of driving, called ecodriving.
However, is ecodriving really efficient in terms of mobility and environment at a global point of view? The benefits of ecodriving have often been studied for an isolated vehicle and rarely for a whole network. The aim of this work is to estimate the effects of ecodriving on traffic congestion and fuel consumption according to the percentage of ecodrivers in the population. This has been achieved using a class of ecodriven vehicles with a car-following model (Intelligent Driver Model) and with a transport simulation software (Aimsun). Results show that the effect of ecodriving on the traffic congestion and pollution is not linearly linked to the proportion of ecodrivers and this effect varies according to the driving conditions. In some cases, ecodriving is cons-productive and fuel consumption increases. Future works will concentrate on experimental validation, on modeling the effect of ecodriving on road safety and on improving the different models.

It includes emissions estimates from marine vessels, heavy duty diesel vehicles, cargo handling equipment, and locomotives. Emissions were estimated using data on vessel traffic patterns, truck counts and movements, equipment surveys, and locomotive tier levels. Preliminary results found the largest contributors to emissions were cargo handling equipment, heavy duty diesel vehicles accessing terminals, and marine vessels. The inventory will help quantify the local air quality impacts of Port of Houston mobile sources.

This paper describes a speed control device for generating electrical energy on an electricity network based on the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) used for wind power conversion systems. At first, a double-fed induction generator model was constructed. A control law is formulated to govern the flow of energy between the stator of a DFIG and the energy network using three types of controllers: proportional integral (PI), sliding mode controller (SMC) and second order sliding mode controller (SOSMC). Their different results in terms of power reference tracking, reaction to unexpected speed fluctuations, sensitivity to perturbations, and resilience against machine parameter alterations are compared. MATLAB/Simulink was used to conduct the simulations for the preceding study. Multiple simulations have shown very satisfying results, and the investigations demonstrate the efficacy and power-enhancing capabilities of the suggested control system.

The aquaponic system of planting is a method that does not require soil usage. It is a method that only needs water, fish, lava rocks (a substitute for soil), and plants. Aquaponic systems are sustainable and environmentally friendly. Its use not only helps to plant in small spaces but also helps reduce artificial chemical use and minimizes excess water use, as aquaponics consumes 90% less water than soil-based gardening. The study applied a descriptive and experimental design to assess and compare conventional and reconstructed aquaponic methods for reproducing tomatoes. The researchers created an observation checklist to determine the significant factors of the study. The study aims to determine the significant difference between traditional aquaponics and reconstructed aquaponics systems propagating tomatoes in terms of height, weight, girth, and number of fruits. The reconstructed aquaponics system’s higher growth yield results in a much more nourished crop than the traditional aquaponics system. It is superior in its number of fruits, height, weight, and girth measurement. Moreover, the reconstructed aquaponics system is proven to eliminate all the hindrances present in the traditional aquaponics system, which are overcrowding of fish, algae growth, pest problems, contaminated water, and dead fish.
