I @ School is a multimedia project for students in the first grade of secondary education, and aims to to promote the use of media in the class.
In this presentation the project is presented.
Pfau Long Architecture hosted a workshop at CAIS 2016 on learning commons. The workshop focused on how educators and designers are working toward a common goal of how to evolve a traditional study space for learning. The learning commons concept is becoming increasingly widespread for libraries at public and independent schools as well as colleges and universities. One of the drivers of adopting a learning commons approach is to mirror the real world by encouraging a more hands-on approach to research and problem solving.
Identifying your target and write copy that converts.Supplyant
The most common problem we see is that people haven’t thought through what their target is. We get lots of people coming in to see us and they haven’t thought about their target market closely enough. It’s too broad and the have not thought about the detail of who they would really love as a customer. The best thing to start off with on any journey is to think, who am I REALLY after, who’s the one?

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

I interpret this to mean that students need a twenty-first century version of book sense. We used to teach students how to find books in a library, how to determine who the author and illustrator is, and where to find copyright information. We now need to teach them how to determine keywords, know how to search, be able to determine who created a particular web page and evaluate a page for bias and reliability.
