City staff recommended not establishing new landscapes at several development projects due to Drought Level II restrictions that limit watering of new landscapes to once per week. Staff will take measures to ensure safety and appearance of existing grounds, and apply hydro-mulch to prevent erosion. The council discussed landscaping plans for Rio Vista Park, River Corridor, Love Municipal Pool, and City Hall Plaza in light of the water restrictions.

• City Staff is recommending that we not proceed with
the establishment of new landscapes at the recent
development projects:

3. Project Landscaping and Watering
• Staff will take measures to ensure the safety of the
grounds as well as an acceptable appearance.
• Staff will also apply hydro-mulch to larger open ground
areas with little turf coverage to mitigate impacts from
erosion (wind and foot traffic).
• In some areas, there is a fair amount of turf coverage
that will survive with the allowable frequencies and
amounts of watering in DSII.
