Analysis Of The Princess And The Frog
Disney films over their course of existence have hidden double meanings in many of the films
they produce. Rather if you are a child or a full pledged adult, people from all different ages can
receive a bit of advice when it comes to what Disney films try to convey in their motion pictures.
Disney is also to be known for some of their unforgettable whimsical characters and memorable
songs in every film. The film released in 2009 The Princess and The Frogis no different. Especially
when it comes to Mama s Odie s musical number half way through the film. Mama s Odie s song,
Dig a Little Deeperis full of metaphors, themes and imagery one can deeply analyze.
At the same time we can apply the song, Dig a Little Deeper, to various characters we have come
to learn and explore through the several novels we have covered over the course of the semester.
We can also apply it to the distinct issues pertaining to women in the South.
The title of the song itself gives the viewer the overall significant and direct theme of the piece
right away. It urges a person to go beyond the surface of a circumstance almost saying as if to go
into the root or origin of the matter. To find who a person really is at the core of their being. At
the start of the song Mama Odie comes off as a non judgmental person. Don t matter what you
look like. Don t matter what you wear. How many rings you got on your finger. We don t care.
Being in front of her and don referring to her lack of sight,

International Consumer Behaviour
Pillsbury Cookie Challenge
The Canadian market insight
MaГ©va Larousse Esther Г‰lodie MonthГ© Frank Yogo Marine Dallery
INTRODUCTION
The Canadian Pillsbury ready baked goods cookie line is experiencing disappointing performance,
and the marketing manager at General Mills Canada Corporation is under pressure to make strategic
decisions that will help turn around the segment. The marketing manager has engaged the help of
the consumer insights team to conduct market research studies that will shed light on consumers
and their attitudes, behaviours, and preferences towards the product.
The goal is to understand how marketers can make better decisions, based on different ... Show

*(The Pillsbury Doughboy is an advertising icon and mascot of the Pillsbury company)
THE PROBLEM STATEMENT
RBG in Canada branch performance were not satisfied over the past two years whereas
refrigerated cookies had always been the most profitable product line of its category. Indeed, the
volume growth between 2004 2006 had remained nearly flat at 1% and the household penetration
had fallen to 24% from previous years.
The goal is to understand the possible reasons of decline in cookie sales, through the consumer
insights (taste, advertising, current brand messaging of the Pills bury).
For this purpose, the marketing manager Guillen wants to see the difference between consumer
markets of Canada and that of United States in order to design a marketing strategy according to it
to boost the sales as well as profit of this category.
HOSTEDE ANALYSIS
In order to understand these cultural differences here are the Hofstede framework:
Power distance
Interdependence among its inhabitants
Value placed on egalitarianism
Canadians value a straightforward exchange of information
Individualism
Individualistic culture
People look after themselves and their immediate families
Employees are expected to be self reliant and display initiatives

The Substitution Mechanisms ( Sn1 And Sn2 ) With Reactions
This paper was written in order to relate nucleophilic substitution mechanisms (SN1 and SN2) with
reactions that involved converting alcohol containing compounds to alkyl halides. This experiment
was conducted by combining the initial alcohol with reagents and heating under reflux when
necessary. It was determined that mechanistic pathways of substitution depend principally on the
structure of the initial alcohol; that is, substrate is considered primary, secondary, or tertiary.
Synthesis of 1 (46%) was achieved through SN2 mechanism from a primary alcohol, while
syntheses 2 (97%) and 3 (98%) were completed by SN1 mechanisms from secondary and tertiary
alcohols as determined by the presence of rearranged products. Many mechanistic reactions are
utilized and are interrelated in order to produce the desired product in an organic synthesis. These
mechanisms may be generally categorized2 into the following classes: addition, elimination,
substitution, and rearrangement. Of these, substitution reactions are of particular significance in
halogenation reactions of alcohol containing compounds, in which the alcohol functional group is
replaced by a halide ion (i.e. Cl or Br ). Alcohols are the most common precursors to alkyl halides
and signify a very substantial reaction in organic synthesis4. Substitution reactions can occur via
two mechanisms2, namely unimolecular nucleophilic substitution(SN1, a stepwise process) and
bimolecular nucleophilic substitution (SN2, a

Case Study Engstrom Auto Mirror
Introduction:
The Engstrom Auto Mirror Plant relatively small supplier based in Indiana is as yet confronting
issues with efficiency, and benefit misfortune. Creation laborers have turned out to be troubled and
lost trust in the Scanlon reward design. Engstrom Auto Mirror Plant is encountering a broken
impact in their social framework. Workers have an absence of intrigue and trust for the
organization due to the fizzled motivating force design in movement. Workers feel the estimation of
the Scanlon design isn t reasonable in view of the measure of rewards that is disseminated and
reasonableness. Employees morale and overall motivation has severely decreased. With such,

Symptoms:
In 2007, the floor manager of Engstorm auto mirror and his assistant realised that the previous
rough quarters that the company went through were due to a lack of motivation coming from the
workers. As if having a bad productivity wasn t enough, the quality of the products offered by the
company started declining. The employees started to get really angry because they weren t paid a
bonus each month as they were used to, they started to delay the deliveries, putting the company in
a bad situation, they began to see that there s no point into participating, they stopped taking
interest in the company. Therefore, when the bonuses stopped, the workers responded with anger
and suspicion, as if something that rightfully belonged to them had been taken away. Let s go
back to the late 1990 s when Ron Bent was hired by Engstorm Auto Mirror, succeeding to a
manager who resigned on working for the company. Straight away, he decided that he would try to

Essay On Page Optimization
#3. On Page Optimization
On page optimization is probably the most technical aspect of optimizing a website. However,
with the help of a good guide and the use of effective tools (such as the Screaming Frog), the
process becomes a easy task to do. With this in mind, the on page optimization checklist is
designed to easy to follow and, importantly, easy to understand. It will help you understand where
you are losing out in as far as UX, and search engine performance is concerned.
I.Webpage Load Speed Load speed is critical for the websiteperformance. Google has gone as far
as saying that it is a ranking factor, where web pages that load fast are rewarded with better
placement while websites that have a slow load speed are punished. ... Show more content on

II.Mobile Friendly For the first time, more internet users were using their mobile devices to access
the internet that desktop computers in 2016. The world is going mobile and every business running
a website (and every business should be running a business) should make concerted effort to
optimize their website for mobile usage.
A good place to start is to go through Google s mobile optimization guide (https:/
/developers.google.com/search/mobile sites/get started). Thereafter, optimize your website by:
Using responsive themes when your website uses WordPress CMS. A responsive theme is one
which can adapt and fit for usage in any screen size without experience any deterioration in the
quality of experience. As such, the website can readily be used in mobile phone, tablets, and the
traditional desktops and laptops.
Use mobile related keywords and modifiers such as near me and nearby taking into consideration
voice search. Voice search using tools such as Siri is increasingly becoming a popular mode of
interacting between users and mobile devices. As such, on your mobile friendly version, use
keywords that cater to this group of users.

Speckled Band Conflict
In The Adventure of the Speckled Band by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes uses his
inquisitive skills to solve a mystery. Along with Sherlock is his companion, Dr. Watson, who
works with Sherlock to protect Helen Stoner from Dr. Roylott. To begin, the story takes place in
April, 1883, at the Roylott Stoke Maron Manor. Troubled, Helen Stoner explains her case in vast
detail to Sherlock and Dr. Watson. The main conflict of the story is that Helen feared for her life
and was suspicious about Julia s death on the eve of Julia s wedding. After that, Sherlock and Dr.
Watson begin their investigation at the Roylott Stoke Maron Manor.
Before setting off, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are confronted by the ruthless Dr. Roylott. Dr.
Roylott threatens Sherlock and tells him bot to investigate the case. This event is an interwoven

Sherlock took account of Dr. Roylott s worn down chair, the small saucer of milk in Dr. Roylott
s room, the mysterious metal safe, as well as the bell string in Julia s room. This case was a foul
play mystery because the author led the audience to believe a variety of red herrings throughout
the story. Firstly, Helen Stoner suggested that the Gypsies outside had something to do with the
death of Julia. Additionally, Helen told Sherlock that the metal clang she heard could have been
the creaking of the timeworn building. Lastly, the fact that Dr. Roylott owned a baboon and a
cheetah had nothing to do with the death of Julia Stoner. The last mood shift of the story is
happy because Helen could go in life and marry the man she desired. Furthermore, the final tone
of the story is uplifting because Helen was relieved to be able to live without fear in her life again.
Most likely, Helen would leave her current area to marry her lover in peace. All in all, due to
Sherlock, the mystery of Julia s death had been solved and Helen Stoner would no longer live in fear

Fog Pathway
The Fog pathway drives actin and myosin apical constriction
In developmental biology an important objective is to understand how cells behave to shape tissues
that produce highly organized embryos. Epithelial morphogenesis is a process driven by actin and
myosin apical constriction that results in sheets of cells rearranging to form defined structures. The
Drosophila Folded in gastrulation (Fog) pathway is one of the best developmental signaling
pathways in demonstrating this process. During gastrulation, the epithelial cells undergo a range of
morphogenetic mechanisms to form the ventral furrow (VF) and the posterior midgut (PMG). This
process begins with Dorsal, a maternal factor, activating Twist and Snail transcription factors which
in turn activates the transcription of the secreted ligand Fog that is a zygotic factor expressed in
presumptive mesoderm and posterior midgut primordium. Fog in turn activates Concertina (Cta), a
GО±12/13 homologue through an unknown membrane receptor that leads to the activation of
RhoGEF, which is recruited to the apical membrane by T48 protein. RhoGEF2 then activates Rho1,
a small GTPase, activating the Rho pathway and its components such as Rho kinase (Rok), non
muscle myosin II, and actin, leading to apical constriction and actin myosin based cell shape ...

(2013) developed a novel functional genomic approach by reconstituting the epithelial folding
pathway in a cell based assay. From S2 cells, S2R+ cells that contracted in response to Fog were
engineered. The S2R+ cells did not contract during RNAi mediated depletion of proteins in the
pathway, such as Cta, RhoGEF2, or Rho1, indicating that the pathway has been reconstructed in
these cells. The Fog receptor mist was identified by performing a targeted RNAi screen in the
S2R+ cells and individually depleting 138 GPCRs in the Drosophila genome. The S2R+ cells that
do not exhibit contraction to Fog therefore contained the

journal of medicine, 2015 Toronto Notes, and Google scholar. The information was gathered using
several key wards such as anterior cruciate ligament injury, anterior cruciate ligament treatment,
anterior cruciate ligament rehabilitation.
The first study reviewed was a randomized control trial of treatment for ACL tears by, Frobell,
Roos, Roos, Ranstam, Lohmander (2010)
The two treatment modalities were early surgical treatment with rehabilitation, and aggressive early
rehabilitation; with the option for later surgery if needed. This compares the major differences in
thought on treatment of anterior cruciate ligament injuries between surgical and non surgical.
(Frobell, Roos, Roos, Ranstan, Lohmander, 2010)
This study was a randomized control trial in patients of 18 to 35 years of age, who presented to an
emergency department with recent rational knee trauma to a previously uninjured knee within the
last four weeks. Anterior cruciate ligament insufficiency was determined by clinical exam, and a
score of five to nine on a tenner activity scale before the injury. 5 indicating participation in

The Constitutional Law Is Not The World Constitution
Writing in 1758, Emer de Vattel explained: The fundamental law which determines the manner in
which the public authority is to be exercised is what forms the constitution of the state.
Extrapolating this concept to the international political process, the bulk of the most important
norms which regulate political activity and relationships in the global polity could be called an
international constitution.
However, an international or global constitution cannot be gained by simply scaling up a typical
state constitution. The term constitutional law is preferred over constitution to highlight that this
body of law is not codified in one single document, but is dispersed in various treaties, soft law texts,
and customary law. The U.N. Charter is not the World Constitution. Global constitutional law is a
subset of international rules and principles which are so important that they deserve the label
constitutional .
Following the destruction and devastation caused by the Second World War, there appeared to have
dawned on the international plane a clearer realization of the importance of the fundamental rights
of all human beings and of the role of the international organizations in upholding and enforcing
them. It is interesting how the emergence and growth of India as a new state and as member of the
comity of free nations of the world coincided with the building of the United Nations and its
agencies and organs. Also, the drafting of the fundamental rights in the Indian

English The Official Language
The United States of America, despite being the most diverse country in the world, does not
have an official language. It has had an English only advocacy since 1919 when the 26th
president Theodore Roosevelt claimed We have room for but one language in this country, and
that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as
Americans, of American nationality, and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding house. (Miller)
His point was clear: if you were an American who did not speak English, you simply were not
American. Therefore, there were not as many minorities back then as there is now. Many people
who agree on having the USA s official language be english say that allowing this to happen would
encourage immigrants to learn and adapt to America s culture. A certain article that accepts this
states, Making English the official language would encourage new immigrants to learn the
language of the country they have adopted as theirs. The end goal is to unite the American people,
while improving the lives of immigrants and native born inhabitants. (Tylt) Many people including
myself agree with this. If we have one official language for the US, it would be practically
effortless for others to communicate with each other. Some people will try to counter argue with
how forcing people to speak a single language is fundamentally un American (Tylt) when in
actuality, it will be easier and cheaper than the alternative. In Los Angeles in

Analysis Of Maya s The Maya
Maya Secrets Locked in Stone
Maya scholars debated for decades over the fate of the Maya. Recent evidence from an unlikely
source, points a sustained drought in the 9th and 10th Centuries.
Stalagmites and Stone Carvings Offer Clues on the Collapse of the Maya Civilization
Circa 900 A.D., the Maya world fell apart. How could an ancient Meso
American civilization flourish for hundreds of years only to fade into the forest? That riddle has
perplexed scholars ever since 19th century explorers
John Stephens and Frederick Catherwood first stumbled upon moldering ruins to discover lost
cities, vine covered temples and an infrastructure worthy of a small kingdom.
Although the full extent of what befell Maya cities like Tikal and Copan, on the Yucatan Peten
Peninsula in present day Mexico and Central
America, remains a mystery. Research points to a change in long term weather patterns likely
brought about their decline. Part of a growing body of evidence, popularized by academics, like
Jared Diamond, that a prolonged drought preceded by abundant rainfall had turned prosperous
Maya city states into desolate ghost towns.
A Cave Yield s Clues
Recent studies have shed new light on this phenomenon. According to a paper published in
Science magazine, between 820 and 870 A.D., the Maya received 40 percent less rainfall than in
prior decades. Scientists surmise that the lack of rainfall tore at the social fabric of the Maya
civilization. The findings are based on the

What Justice Means to Me
What Justice Means to Me and How I Will Impact Society

Throughout this research paper you will learn about what justice means to me, and how I think I

The reason I disagree that justice was served is because Stallworth killed a human being versus
Vick killing dogs. Stallworth should have been required to do some type of prison term for killing
a human being due to drunk driving because it still was a death involved. It shouldn t matter how
much money or fame a person may have if a crime is committed then there should be proper
punishment for the crime.
Now that I have explained two examples based on my opinion if justice was served or not I feel
that I will impact society in some way once I obtain my bachelor s degree in Criminal Justice. I
will be fair in any decision that needs to be made due to the situation of the client I may be
dealing with at that time. I will also consider trying and helping to create positive outcomes for
the clients that maybe on parole or probation at that time. I will avoid trying to be negative with
the clients because they already going to have a negative outlook about themselves in some
people perspectives. I feel once they have served their time for the crime the individual should
have a second chance at regaining a positive outcome for their life. For example: If I had a client
that was charged with assault and battery and they served their sentence and then was placed on

Specifications As a summer engineering intern at Frito Lay, the importance of maintaining
standards and quality on all projects has been reinforced to me daily. Considering that Frito Lay is
an organization with worldwide product distribution, protecting both the brand and the consumer is
understandably important. To ensure product consistency, the use of specifications is leveraged

The Role Of The Puritans
The Puritans The Puritans were a group of people who were set out to get away from the British
colony. They came into America to start a new life set apart from their past experiences in a
monarch society. Their intentions were to purify the churches of England of their Catholic way.
They are a group who worship the Bible. They expect all other Puritans to know their Ten
Commandments. They are one of the first groups to inhabit America. The first actual people
were the Native Americans and then the Pilgrims. There is a difference between the pilgrims
and the puritans. The difference is that the pilgrims came to America to get away from the
Church of England and be separate. They want to separate because they believe that England is
violating the rules of the Bible. The Puritans also came to get away from the church because
they believed that the church in England still needed further reform. That is why they started
their own church in America, so they can make their own rules and be free. The play is about
the group of puritans who came to start their church in Salem. In the beginning, there was little
talk of witchcraft (Wiggins, 2012). People were starting to grow suspicious of Parris because his
slave and niece and a couple other girls were dancing in the woods (Wiggins, 2012). Also his
daughter was in a coma and would not wake up. Eventually he decided to call in Hale, who is a
professional with witchcraft, to determine what was going on. Although he was said to be
professional, later on we come to find out that he was starting to think he was wrong but he
keeps that to himself (Wiggins, 2012). Then towards the end after there had been many deaths,
he decides to tell them that they are innocent. The judge tells him that many have been hung
already, so they cannot stop now because that would be unfair. What this passage says is, they
are a group who believes in the bible and worship the bible, and they are strict on witchcraft
(Wiggins, 2012). If somebody accuses someone of witchcraft, the only way to live is to confess
that you are working with the devil. It also shows how harsh the court is and how they do not let
anybody be considered innocent by making them lie to the court or they

The Education System Of Education Essay
There s a lot going on in today s society from the election, roads, taxes, even killer clowns. I m
going to talk about today s education system. Since the education being taught in the schools is for
the generations to come. People need education to have a stable life in this country, to get a good
job, and to support themselves financially. Therefore, are need to improve educationoverall.
First, the students being taught in the classes are based on technology. We already know how
technology is carrying how students perform in education. But in education today kids and students

Ipad or a Chromebook. The school board is making students feel like it s a necessity to have in
class everyday. I see kids at the age of 6 or 7 asking for their Ipad or chromebook for homework.
I ask myself is this really how the school board wants to teach the future generation of students?
Students are so used to using PowerPoint and Word at such a young age.
Secondly, the lack of teachers and the lack of people who want to be teachers is creating
problems. Teachers have been going on strike in different committees in the US. The most this
class would know about is how Mchenry high schools teachers went on strike. We don t pay our
teachers enough for what they do. The teachers in the US barely make enough to live a nice live.
Overall I think we should pay teachers as much as doctors because a doctor

Sources of Disagreement
An Analysis of the Sources of Disagreement between Alice Mathias and Dana L. Fleming
Regardless of whether one participates or not, there is no denying the significant impact that
online social networking sites, such us MySpace and Facebook, are having on America s younger
generations. These trends are duly noted in Alice Mathias s New York Times feature, The
Fakebook Generation and Dana Fleming s New England Journal of Higher Education article,
Youthful Indescretions: Should Colleges Protect Social Network Users from Themselves and
Others? Though both writers agree on the significance of these types of sites, their views differ
greatly as to the impact the sites are having on America s youth. Two important factors as to why the

For this reason, Fleming comments on a variety of programs and policies across America that are
intended to take over what students are failing to do, safeguard the students privacy and well
being. What Mathias comments on, is dismay that the older generation may take away the
temporary forum that give students their outlet from reality, and not realize that, inevitably, these
students will mature and networking sites will become more about what their original intent was,
...a legitimate social reference guide. (439) The difference in these two writers views appears to
be influenced by the generation gap. Mathias views are based on her own personal experience as a
current college student, and Facebook user. Her perception of the site is that of a harmless means
of distraction for students who will eventually move on to other things. Fleming s focus is more of
the protector, rather than participant. She sees Facebook and similar sites as potentially damaging
to a students future. It seems as though, through simply not acknowledging certain aspects of these
sites and the effect they have on students, Mathias blog is helping to make Fleming s case. Mathias,

The Challenges Posed For Religious Believers By Religious
The challenges posed for religious believers by Religious diversity will be discussed in this paper.
First, one must understand what Religious diversity is. Religious Diversity refers to religions
making mutually exclusive claims that contradict one another. For this discussion, Religious
Diversity will focus on contradictory claims on reaching salvation and connecting with god
depending upon ones personal religion. This discussion pertains to all major western religions like
Judaism, Islam, and Christianityespecially, but other religions as well that claim to be the one
absolute religion. These contradictions leave a religious individual with the dilemma of
constructing an argument that rationally explains how there can be multiple... Show more content on

For example, numerous religions like Hinduism or Judaism were being practiced thousands of
years prior to Christianity s founding. How can one understand all those peoples existences? It
does not seem plausible to believe that their lives were pointless and they had no connection to
god, or no chance of reaching salvation due to their time of birth. To be punished for something
that is out of ones control is not plausible for an all powerful and merciful god to do. Another
problem with religious exclusivism is how to understand pious people from various religions
and cultures. It is not plausible that there are some individuals, from all different backgrounds,
that in every sense of the word are exceptional humans whether it be through charity, generosity,
kindness, or just being a moral person. Some of these concepts like being a good person or
being a moral person are subjective, but the basic foundation of being a moral person, at least
from a western monotheistic perspective, appears to be do unto others as you would want done
unto yourself, also known as the golden rule. If one is aware that these pious people exist as
followers of all religions, then one has to conclude that it is a flawed argument to suggest that these
individuals would not achieve salvation simply due to which god they pray to. Other questions that
arise when discussing Religious Exclusivism are; If Christianity is the

Mongolia is a country rich in history, warriors, and tradition. They have endured the most drastic

Essay On Tourette s Syndrome In The Classroom
Tourette s Syndrome in the Classroom
Introduction to Tourette s Syndrome
Students have many academic experiences that are different from each other. Every student has
his/her own abilities or disabilities that affect their learning process. Some disabilities do not
necessarily prohibit a child s learning, but others may adversely affect a child s cognitive abilities.
Some learning disabilities are addressed in an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or a 504
plan. Once a teacher realizes that a student has some sort of special needs, then the teacher must
plan to make adjustments or accommodations to address those needs. One of these conditions is
Tourette s syndrome. According to Jankovic (2014), Tourette s syndrome is a common... Show

childhood with the visible tics. It may take a while for a doctor to firmly diagnose certain tics as
Tourette s syndrome as it difficult to diagnose this condition. It usually takes about a year after the
tics become present for them to be diagnosed and the diagnosed is made clinically and does not
need neuroimaging or laboratory testing for the condition to be confirmed (Kurlan, 2010, 2333).
The tics related to this condition cause problems in several daily functions in various ways in many
aspects of their lives.
There are many options for treatments for people diagnosed with Tourette s Syndrome. According
to Dr. Kurlan (2013), tics can be treated with habit reversal cognitive behavioral therapy,
medications (most commonly alpha agonists and antipsychotics), local intramuscular injections of
botulinum toxin and some severe, refractory cases have responded to deep brain stimulation
surgery (DBS). Some of these treatments can be also used for people diagnosed with other
disabilities including ADHD and OCD. Behavioral therapy can help children with Tourette s
Syndrome monitor their tics. The other methods are mostly either medications or DBS (Deep Brain
Stimulation) which is usually used by people who

A Streetcar Named Desire Critical Summary
To conclude A Streetcar Named Desire, Tennessee Williams did a fantastic job with revealing
much of Blanche s secrets. Scene nine began with Mitch coming over a little buzzed, but he
definitely knew why he was there. Blanch was alone and seemed to be surprised that he had came
back. She rambled on and on as he sat there to take it for a while. Eventually, he admitted to Blanche
what he had heard about her from three different people as he goes to turn on the light because
he had also found that she was quite a bit older than him. She tried to make excuses and
somewhat owned up to part of the accusations. Blanche wanted to marry him, however, Mitch
claimed that she wasn t clean enough for him or his mother. Blanche screamed fire out of the
window until it he scattered from Stanley and Stella s home. She was having illusions and
hearing noises all afternoon, so much that it drove her to have a few drinks. Stanley soon comes
in only to find Blanche wearing a fake tiara. He threw himself at her with force as she begged for
mercy. Stella was in the hospital getting ready to have a baby while Stanley, from what I
understand, raped her sister. That part was a surprise to me because I didn t feel that he would do
anything like that since he just wanted her out of his home. Although, I think that all of those
times that Blanche called him an animal was building up to it. He wanted to show her what he
really is. In the last scene when Stella is home, she had called for a doctorand

Essay on Hydrophobic property of Carbon Nanotubes
Carbon fiber also has corrosion issues due to its chemical composition There are many different
types of corrosions. According to Boeing Engineer David Banis, Concentration cell corrosion, or
crevice corrosion, is the most common type of corrosion found on airplanes (Banis 2). It
occurred whenever water is trapped between two surfaces, such as under loose paint, within a
delaminated bond line, or in an unsealed joint. The magnitude of the corrosion depends on the
alloy that is used. Carbon fiber with metal mesh is susceptible to severe corrosion if not properly
treated with the right sealant. Carbon fiber is also very hard to recycle. The reason behind this is
because it loses most of its strength during the recycling process, ... Show more content on

In the article A Preliminary Study on the Effect of Macro Cavities Formation on Properties of

University s institute for Frontier Materials, over the last decade carbon nanotubes have attracted a
lot of interest and efforts were made to incorporate them efficiently into composite material
structures (DumГ©e 558). DumГ©e substantiates this statement by providing a number of data
from research that has been conducted in the last few decades. He provides charts and diagrams
from some of his own tests that show that carbon nanotubes can be easily processed as bucky

Compare/Contrast of Gilgamesh and Noah The Epic of Gilgamesh has been a huge interest in
people since the nineteenth century with its theme of a universal flood and is parallel to the
story Noah and the flood. The Epic of Gilgamesh dates back to 2000 b.c. and Noah and the flood
dates to 400 b.c. People have many different myths on how the world was created while these two
myths focus on a flood that destroys mankind. There have been numerous flood stories identified

Sexism And Equality
The fight women s rights and equality has been an ongoing theme throughout history. Much like
racism, sexism limits a person based on a physicality they cannot control. Its uncivilized and
brings a huge uproar and controversy in its path. For years there has been groups and protests to
change the course of sexism and change it for the better. Admittedly, it has improved, but as a
society we are far from equality.
According to Martin Luther King, there a four steps to accomplish a peaceful protest. The first
step of that process is gathering facts to determine if there is an unjustification. There has been a
debate on whether or not if sexism is still prevalent. However, since it is even up for debate, that
goes to show sexism is still ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Much like how Mohandas Gandhi made salt from seawater to protest against the Salt Act, a
direct yet peaceful direct action must be made to seal the deal per say. Direct action can have a
bug effect from a small action. Additionally, a small action can turn into a big deal. For example,
on April 21st of every year there is the Day of Silence . This is a form of peaceful protest to
bring awareness to the silencing of LGBT people and many also use it as a day or mourning to
those lost to homophobia. Interesting enough, there actually was one of the largest direct action
protests for women s rights this year on March 8th. There was an estimated amount of 470,000,
three times as many people to attend Trumps Inauguration. (according to New York Times Tim

Reflective Essay On Persepolis
Restrictions to closings, and prohibiting things without a strong evidence is against the freedom.
According to Rachael Jolley, editor of the Index on Censorship Magazine, governments show to
their citizens that they are not confident enough to control their behaviors when they start to
control what people should wear, and make it obligatory. Persepolis starts directly after the 1979
Iranian Islamic revolution, which was a consequence of the fall of the rule of the dictator Shah of
Iran. Persepolis as a graphic autobiography by Marjane Satrapi representing her life when she was
young, and up to her grown up years in Iran during, and after the Iranian Islamic revolution.
Throughout the story her father, and mother host different family members that Marjane becomes
emotionally connected to. Also, her family were a modern family, and completely against the
Religious Extremists. Marjane s French school started to separate the students from into two
groups; boys, and girls. And then they started to make the girls wear the veil in her school,
which was obligatory. Satrapi was very successful, and effective in using the images to make it
easy for the readers to understand her point of view about the lack of freedom that happened
during, and after the Iranian Islamic revolution. Freedom is when the person has the ability to
explain their different point of views without being ignored, or rejected for political benefits.

Factors Affecting Second Language Acquisition
Different factors can affect second language acquisition in ELLs. It is important to determine what
may hinder an ELLs students success in a K 12 setting. One issue is negative transfer and the
differences between the L1 and English may cause an interference. However, that is just one of the

Literature Review
.
School Environment School environment does have an effect on a student acquiring language.
Factors such as students feeling stigmatized and lack of support for students and teachers can have
negative results.
Yi (2013) conducted a case study of a Korean high school student named Hoon (a pseudonym) in
a United States school. Hoon felt his ESL(English as a Second Language) status stigmatized
him. He felt embarrassed or that he was losing face because he was an ESL student. Hoon
reported some his classmates made fun of him for being in ESL which further contributed to his
feeling of stigmatization. Because of his negative feelings he had his ESL teacher move him from
Beginning ESL to Advanced ESL skipping over Intermediate ESL. However, he repeated
Advanced ESL three times. His teacher attributed his difficulties in English to him skipping over
Intermediate ESL. Yi s study of Hoon also discovered his stigmatized status was having an effect
on his academic literacy. For example, when he wrote essays he often wrote in long sentences,

The Importance Of Happiness
I believe that every human being deserves the chance to pursue happiness, regardless of their
race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation. We deserve the same chance because we are all born
equal, but just because we have the chance to pursue happiness it doesn t mean we are entitled to
do whatever we want. There are restrictions we should consider as we pursue happinessbecause we
can t be going around breaking the law or hurting people. I also think that we should allow
ourselves to experience more than just happiness, for example, anger, grief, fear, love and so on.
There are countries where the people are not allowed to express themselves, they are told what
to do and are treated like objects, and if they oppose it could lead to serious consequences such
hard labor, imprisonment, or even death. One of them being North Korea. We know how they
treat the people in North Korea, they aren t allowed to express themselves. I, fortunately, live in
the United States. A country where I am allowed to do whatever I want as long as I don t break
the law. Here in America, we all have the same opportunities to pursue happiness.
I think we should take in consideration the people around us when pursuing happiness, but at the
same time we shouldn t let it keep us from being happy. What guarantee us they aren t doing the
same thing, what if they are pursuing happiness and are making us less happy. One example I can

Persuasive Essay On Autonomous Cars
The Autonomous car is coming and there is nothing we can do about it. In a world where
everything has a beginning and an end, technology is always upgrading and advancing every day.
The next step in the automotive world is Autonomous cars. The Autonomous car in the simplest
terms are cars that drive themselves using cameras and sensors to drive just like a human would.
Today, instead of a word its a phrase, the five levels of autonomy. (Martin) At level five the car
does not need humans at all and can drive almost anywhere without the help or the control of a
human. When autonomous cars start being widely produced it will affect almost everything that is
near or in the world of automotive Technology.
The autonomous car is coming without a doubt, the only question is when will it arrive? The Ford
company predicted that they will start producing a car without pedals or a steering wheel by
2021(Dekker). Many if, not all automakers try their hardest to produce the car as soon as they can,
it will be a couple years before the technology is ready for the everyday consumer use. Nevertheless,
its more than just automakers that are in this race for autonomous cars anymore. Technology
companies like Intel and NVIDIA are in the race for the autonomous car and are against some
companies and are making partners with others. The china company CMU is partnering with GM

Experimental Models Of Immune Response
The immune response to viral and bacterial pathogens is well studied using mathematical models
cite{antia2005role,perelson2002modelling,marchuk2013mathematical} and the role of

Mathematical models have contributed to our understanding of dynamics of CD8 response,

The Salton Sea
Introduction
The Salton Basin , a below sea level depression which extends on the north from Palm Springs ,
California, to the Gulf of California , in the south. The Salton Sea has undergone historic cycles
of filling with water and later drying up. The most recent predecessor to the Sea, that being Lake
Cahuilla , last filled this area between 300 to 500 years ago and at one time had a surface
elevation above sea level. In 1905 the flooding of the Colorado River was accidentally diverted into

was due to the fact that evaporation is the only outlet to the Salton Sea , in fact 1.35 million acre

Gateways To Art Analysis
The figure 1.120 on page 123 of Gateways to Art depicts a 3 dimensional piece of art called
Monogram. Inside the work includes mixed media with taxidermy goat, rubber tire, and a tennis
ball. The work was done by Robert Rauschenberg from Sweden. There is strong emphasis on the
goat, making it the focal point of the mass. The installation of the tire is wrapped around the
goat s torso, while the goat is mounted onto the center of the wood frame. The size of the work
is monumental compared to other works of art. The subordination of the painted half of the
work prevents the viewer from looking at the plain pieces of wood. The span of the mount
stretches diagonally across the frame. The addition of red paint brings a sense of luminosity to
the work. There are illuminated letters printed of the wood pieces that draws attention to the left
half of the piece. The text says Rauschenberg created the work as a symbol of himself as a rebel
and outcast. The goat relates to a religious perspective as goats used to be offered as a sacrifice by
Christians to God. This work was so odd at the time because it was not a sculpture or painting,

Sacred Heart Church Research Paper
Architecture has always been adapting, revisiting and appropriating what has been done before,
looking back to precedents to find new inspirations. Despite new technology and pop culture,
history dictates symbolism and formalistic appeal even if we are unaware of it. We grow up
associating certain symbols and imagery to its connotated meaning, for example, when we see a
cross we immediately think of Christianity. Because of that, churches nowadays continue to look
back to ancient Christian structure to draw long established design elements and symbols and
Sacred Heart Church is no exception. Firstly, I will describe the physical elements of the Sacred
Heart church. Afterwards, I will compare and analyze the similarities and differences between this
church and pre modern Christian architecture.

in which many of the actions around the main characterseem to enhance the way the character
develops. The use of symbolism to develop the characters is easy to see in the short storythe
chrysanthemums by John Steinback. In this story Steinback writes of a woman who lives on a
farm; but the woman feels trapped, and wishes that she could free herself. The author uses both the
time of year and the location to develop a setting that compliments... Show more content on

The air was cold and tender. A light wind blew up from the southwest so that the farmers were
mildly hopeful of a good rain before long; but fog and rain do not go together. (Steinback 267)
From this line much may be derived about Elisa Smith s character. The quiet waiting symbolizes
how Elisa is silently waiting for something to happen. Elisa can not say much about her current
situation, she has to calmly weight for something to happen. This can be seen when her husband
jokes about her going to the fights with her. At the time she says nothing, because it would be
absurd for her to go with him. However, after she grows up at the end of the story she expresses
her interest to go with him. The symbol of the possibly of rain shows how Elisa anticipates that
something interesting in her life may happen, but deep down she knows that there is a very low
probability that anything would actually happen. Elisa s bath is another good symbol that
Steinback uses to develop Elisa s character. When she, scrubbed herself with a little block of
pumice. . . until her skin was scratched and red. (Steinback 273) she was scrubbing away the skin
that bound her into her conventional role. After this bath she had the courage to ask henry if they
could have wine at the dinner tonight, and that they may possibly go to the fights together. After
her bath she realized how strong she

Why Is Parthena Important In Greek Art
The Statue of Athena Parthenos It was dedicated to the city s deity Athena. The temple was made to
give a statue made in Athena s honor a home. When Athena led the Greek forces during the Persian
wars, the people of Athens thought the world needed to see her success through a statue. Pheidias
began sculpting the statue in 447 BCE. The statue would remain the city s symbol for thousands of
years until it completely disappeared from the historical record during the Late Antiquity period.
Some sculpture details and descriptions of the statue allowed the piece to be accurately
reconstructed.
The Parthenon was built to protect the Statue of Athena Parthenos. It was built in Athens, Greece on
the hill of the Acropolis . With the supervision of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of her names is Pallas which means maiden. The name Pallas Athene comes from one of her
childhood friends. Her friend was a nymph and during a battle Athena accidently killed her; Athena
began to feel distraught over the death and took the nymph s name. Another name for her is Pania
which came from her discovery of the flute.
She became the patron goddess of Athens after winning a contest against Poseidon by offering the
olive tree to the Athenians. Athena and the city Athens come from the same root: Athens (Athenae).
The similarity in their names represents the sisterhood of the godess.2 Similarly, Athena was
called Mykene in the city of Mycenae (also a plural after the respective sisterhood), and Thebe in
the city of Thebes (or Thebae, both plural forms). 2
Athena Parthenos in Greek translates to Athena the virgin. The statue is a massive 11.5 metres
tall and stood on a pedestal that measured to be 4.09 by 8.04 metres. Athena Parthenos was made
out of Gold and Ivory. In her right hand, she holds a 4 cubit tall statue called Nike. In her left
hand, she holds a circular shield that rests on the floor. She also has a spear and a coiled snake
that is between her shield and foot on the left side. On her head is a triple crested helmet which
has a sphinx and 2 griffins on either side. The base of the statue depicts the birth of Pandora being
watched by the gods of Olympus. The picture above is one of the many replicas of the

Primary Care Access Essay
Primary Care Access
In today s health care environment many factors contribute to quality care. As a medical practice
manager it is important to provide the best medical service for patients in addition to excellent
levels of service. Appointment scheduling is a very important aspect of a smooth running medical
practice. Appointment cancellation, no shows, and long waiting time by patients have a negative
impact on the efficient running of the practice not only in lost revenue but the practices
professional reputation as well (Kruse 2010).
Goals
To improve services at the ABC PhysicianPractice Group, we decided to analyze appointment
scheduling to increase patient access to the providers. This was achieved by measuring the Third ...

The 3NA system is also easy to measure and compare to other practices (Solomon 2003).
The average length of time that patients make a request for an appointment and the days between
the times of the appointment day is used for third available appointments which include new
patients, routine exams and return visits. By using the third next available rather than the next
available appointment provides a more accurate indication of appointment availability. According to
the Institute for Health Improvement (2011), An appointment may be open at the time of a request
because of a cancellation or other unexpected event. Using the third next available appointment
eliminates these chance occurrences from the measure of availability (para. 1).
The main goal of using and measuring patient appointment flow is to decrease number of days to
third next available appointment to zero days (Para. 2). Appointments for primary care will be the
same day and for specialty care the decreased number of days will be 2 days. According to
Solomon (2003) the process for scheduling the third available appointment includes the following:
Analytical Tool Used
One method that is use to analyze processes is the Shewhart cycle of plan do study act (PDSA).
The team decided to use PDSA to analyze the Third available appointment because

  • 2. Analysis Of The Princess And The Frog Disney films over their course of existence have hidden double meanings in many of the films they produce. Rather if you are a child or a full pledged adult, people from all different ages can receive a bit of advice when it comes to what Disney films try to convey in their motion pictures. Disney is also to be known for some of their unforgettable whimsical characters and memorable songs in every film. The film released in 2009 The Princess and The Frogis no different. Especially when it comes to Mama s Odie s musical number half way through the film. Mama s Odie s song, Dig a Little Deeperis full of metaphors, themes and imagery one can deeply analyze. At the same time we can apply the song, Dig a Little Deeper, to various characters we have come to learn and explore through the several novels we have covered over the course of the semester. We can also apply it to the distinct issues pertaining to women in the South. The title of the song itself gives the viewer the overall significant and direct theme of the piece right away. It urges a person to go beyond the surface of a circumstance almost saying as if to go into the root or origin of the matter. To find who a person really is at the core of their being. At the start of the song Mama Odie comes off as a non judgmental person. Don t matter what you look like. Don t matter what you wear. How many rings you got on your finger. We don t care. • 5. The Substitution Mechanisms ( Sn1 And Sn2 ) With Reactions This paper was written in order to relate nucleophilic substitution mechanisms (SN1 and SN2) with reactions that involved converting alcohol containing compounds to alkyl halides. This experiment was conducted by combining the initial alcohol with reagents and heating under reflux when necessary. It was determined that mechanistic pathways of substitution depend principally on the structure of the initial alcohol; that is, substrate is considered primary, secondary, or tertiary. Synthesis of 1 (46%) was achieved through SN2 mechanism from a primary alcohol, while syntheses 2 (97%) and 3 (98%) were completed by SN1 mechanisms from secondary and tertiary alcohols as determined by the presence of rearranged products. Many mechanistic reactions are utilized and are interrelated in order to produce the desired product in an organic synthesis. These mechanisms may be generally categorized2 into the following classes: addition, elimination, substitution, and rearrangement. Of these, substitution reactions are of particular significance in halogenation reactions of alcohol containing compounds, in which the alcohol functional group is replaced by a halide ion (i.e. Cl or Br ). Alcohols are the most common precursors to alkyl halides and signify a very substantial reaction in organic synthesis4. Substitution reactions can occur via two mechanisms2, namely unimolecular nucleophilic substitution(SN1, a stepwise process) and bimolecular nucleophilic substitution (SN2, a ... • 9. Fog Pathway The Fog pathway drives actin and myosin apical constriction In developmental biology an important objective is to understand how cells behave to shape tissues that produce highly organized embryos. Epithelial morphogenesis is a process driven by actin and myosin apical constriction that results in sheets of cells rearranging to form defined structures. The Drosophila Folded in gastrulation (Fog) pathway is one of the best developmental signaling pathways in demonstrating this process. During gastrulation, the epithelial cells undergo a range of morphogenetic mechanisms to form the ventral furrow (VF) and the posterior midgut (PMG). This process begins with Dorsal, a maternal factor, activating Twist and Snail transcription factors which in turn activates the transcription of the secreted ligand Fog that is a zygotic factor expressed in presumptive mesoderm and posterior midgut primordium. Fog in turn activates Concertina (Cta), a GО±12/13 homologue through an unknown membrane receptor that leads to the activation of RhoGEF, which is recruited to the apical membrane by T48 protein. RhoGEF2 then activates Rho1, a small GTPase, activating the Rho pathway and its components such as Rho kinase (Rok), non muscle myosin II, and actin, leading to apical constriction and actin myosin based cell shape ... • 11. The Constitutional Law Is Not The World Constitution Writing in 1758, Emer de Vattel explained: The fundamental law which determines the manner in which the public authority is to be exercised is what forms the constitution of the state. Extrapolating this concept to the international political process, the bulk of the most important norms which regulate political activity and relationships in the global polity could be called an international constitution. However, an international or global constitution cannot be gained by simply scaling up a typical state constitution. The term constitutional law is preferred over constitution to highlight that this body of law is not codified in one single document, but is dispersed in various treaties, soft law texts, and customary law. The U.N. Charter is not the World Constitution. Global constitutional law is a subset of international rules and principles which are so important that they deserve the label constitutional . Following the destruction and devastation caused by the Second World War, there appeared to have dawned on the international plane a clearer realization of the importance of the fundamental rights of all human beings and of the role of the international organizations in upholding and enforcing them. It is interesting how the emergence and growth of India as a new state and as member of the comity of free nations of the world coincided with the building of the United Nations and its agencies and organs. They are a group who worship the Bible. They expect all other Puritans to know their Ten Commandments. They are one of the first groups to inhabit America. The first actual people were the Native Americans and then the Pilgrims. There is a difference between the pilgrims and the puritans. The difference is that the pilgrims came to America to get away from the Church of England and be separate. They want to separate because they believe that England is violating the rules of the Bible. The Puritans also came to get away from the church because they believed that the church in England still needed further reform. That is why they started their own church in America, so they can make their own rules and be free. The play is about the group of puritans who came to start their church in Salem. Therefore, are need to improve educationoverall. First, the students being taught in the classes are based on technology. We already know how technology is carrying how students perform in education. The school board is making students feel like it s a necessity to have in class everyday. I see kids at the age of 6 or 7 asking for their Ipad or chromebook for homework. I ask myself is this really how the school board wants to teach the future generation of students? Students are so used to using PowerPoint and Word at such a young age. Secondly, the lack of teachers and the lack of people who want to be teachers is creating problems. Teachers have been going on strike in different committees in the US. It does not seem plausible to believe that their lives were pointless and they had no connection to god, or no chance of reaching salvation due to their time of birth. To be punished for something that is out of ones control is not plausible for an all powerful and merciful god to do. Another problem with religious exclusivism is how to understand pious people from various religions and cultures. It is not plausible that there are some individuals, from all different backgrounds, that in every sense of the word are exceptional humans whether it be through charity, generosity, kindness, or just being a moral person. Some of these concepts like being a good person or being a moral person are subjective, but the basic foundation of being a moral person, at least from a western monotheistic perspective, appears to be do unto others as you would want done unto yourself, also known as the golden rule. It usually takes about a year after the tics become present for them to be diagnosed and the diagnosed is made clinically and does not need neuroimaging or laboratory testing for the condition to be confirmed (Kurlan, 2010, 2333). The tics related to this condition cause problems in several daily functions in various ways in many aspects of their lives. There are many options for treatments for people diagnosed with Tourette s Syndrome. According to Dr. Kurlan (2013), tics can be treated with habit reversal cognitive behavioral therapy, medications (most commonly alpha agonists and antipsychotics), local intramuscular injections of botulinum toxin and some severe, refractory cases have responded to deep brain stimulation surgery (DBS). • 26. A Streetcar Named Desire Critical Summary To conclude A Streetcar Named Desire, Tennessee Williams did a fantastic job with revealing much of Blanche s secrets. Scene nine began with Mitch coming over a little buzzed, but he definitely knew why he was there. Blanch was alone and seemed to be surprised that he had came back. She rambled on and on as he sat there to take it for a while. Eventually, he admitted to Blanche what he had heard about her from three different people as he goes to turn on the light because he had also found that she was quite a bit older than him. She tried to make excuses and somewhat owned up to part of the accusations. Blanche wanted to marry him, however, Mitch claimed that she wasn t clean enough for him or his mother. Blanche screamed fire out of the window until it he scattered from Stanley and Stella s home. She was having illusions and hearing noises all afternoon, so much that it drove her to have a few drinks. Stanley soon comes in only to find Blanche wearing a fake tiara. He threw himself at her with force as she begged for mercy. Stella was in the hospital getting ready to have a baby while Stanley, from what I understand, raped her sister. That part was a surprise to me because I didn t feel that he would do anything like that since he just wanted her out of his home. Although, I think that all of those times that Blanche called him an animal was building up to it. He wanted to show her what he really is. According to Boeing Engineer David Banis, Concentration cell corrosion, or crevice corrosion, is the most common type of corrosion found on airplanes (Banis 2). It occurred whenever water is trapped between two surfaces, such as under loose paint, within a delaminated bond line, or in an unsealed joint. The magnitude of the corrosion depends on the alloy that is used. Carbon fiber with metal mesh is susceptible to severe corrosion if not properly treated with the right sealant. We deserve the same chance because we are all born equal, but just because we have the chance to pursue happiness it doesn t mean we are entitled to do whatever we want. There are restrictions we should consider as we pursue happinessbecause we can t be going around breaking the law or hurting people. I also think that we should allow ourselves to experience more than just happiness, for example, anger, grief, fear, love and so on. There are countries where the people are not allowed to express themselves, they are told what to do and are treated like objects, and if they oppose it could lead to serious consequences such hard labor, imprisonment, or even death. One of them being North Korea. We know how they treat the people in North Korea, they aren t allowed to express themselves. I, fortunately, live in the United States. Inside the work includes mixed media with taxidermy goat, rubber tire, and a tennis ball. The work was done by Robert Rauschenberg from Sweden. There is strong emphasis on the goat, making it the focal point of the mass. The installation of the tire is wrapped around the goat s torso, while the goat is mounted onto the center of the wood frame. The size of the work is monumental compared to other works of art. The subordination of the painted half of the work prevents the viewer from looking at the plain pieces of wood. The span of the mount stretches diagonally across the frame. The addition of red paint brings a sense of luminosity to the work. There are illuminated letters printed of the wood pieces that draws attention to the left half of the piece. The text says Rauschenberg created the work as a symbol of himself as a rebel and outcast. The goat relates to a religious perspective as goats used to be offered as a sacrifice by Christians to God. There are literary techniques such as voice, point of view, character, theme, and symbolism. One very interesting technique is that of symbolism. With symbolism the author is able to write a story in which many of the actions around the main characterseem to enhance the way the character develops. The use of symbolism to develop the characters is easy to see in the short storythe chrysanthemums by John Steinback. At the time she says nothing, because it would be absurd for her to go with him. However, after she grows up at the end of the story she expresses her interest to go with him. The symbol of the possibly of rain shows how Elisa anticipates that something interesting in her life may happen, but deep down she knows that there is a very low probability that anything would actually happen.
