Challenges “ Wordpress is just a blog engine..” “ Show me which MAJOR sites use this” “ Can it do [insert functionality here] ?” “ Can we edit the content ourselves?”  “ How fast can you put it up?”
Scenario Level Up! has enjoyed great success with its online properties but we still needed to push the envelope with regards to what we can on the web and leverage new or emerging technology for our business needs. The preferred path must be cost effective, readily available documentation/support and modern. Major,major area of improvement:  Content Management and Distribution.
Content Management For years, Level Up! has relied on various means to publish content over the years.  Each new system had its own drawbacks and advantages. Moving forward, We wanted our new CMS to be able to do the following: 1. System meant for Content Developers 2. User Rights Management 3. Standard Format 4. Lessons Learned 1. With the right plugins and expertise, Wordpress is a very capable CMS 2. You need people with the right expertise 3. Not everything needs to be done using Wordpress. 4. Training programs are invaluable 5. Make sure your hardware supports your software.
Summary We were one of the first big companies locally to use Wordpress as our main CMS. Based on the current situation, government institutions, MNCs, Educational entities and even Mom and Pop business are moving to Wordpress, making it a thriving local industry. Wordpress allowed Level Up! to achieve our goals while increasing traffic, user engagement, content distribution while being cost effective. Wordpress has also allowed us to be a technological pioneer in our industry where our milestones have yet to be matched by our competitors.
