The Lodenareal Passive House apartment complex in Innsbruck, Austria is the world's largest certified passive house with 354 residential units. It achieves an extremely low heating energy demand of 13 kWh/m2a through high insulation standards, a central pellet boiler, solar thermal panels, and balanced ventilation. Residents' energy consumption has remained consistently low due to the building's efficient envelope and passive design which minimizes user impact on energy usage. The development has reduced CO2 emissions by 680 tons annually and serves as a model for future sustainable, low-energy housing.
