Literature Review
The role of a Human Resource department is ever changing in today’s volatile business environment. Over the years HR have become a strong strategic partner within an organization by providing functions such as recruitment, training and development and retention. Human Resources in order to be strategic works directly with all levels of management in an effort to help with strategy and the growth of the company to meet their vision. One very important aspect is talent acquisition. Having the right people in key roles within the company is vital to the success and growth. Performing this function includes preparing a job description, recruiting, and then setting compensation. Then a crucial tool used by many HR departments is the process of job evaluations and performance reviews.
Method of Job Analysis
When a new job is created or a vacancy occurs, it is the role of a HR representative to fill that void. In order to perform this function they need to first understand what role they are trying fill and what skills and responsibilities this new role would require. By conducting a job analysis they are able to further define an important elements of any job and then search for the person or people that are a good fit for the company. As important as it is to perform a job analysis before looking for that new candidate, it is equally as important to select the correct job analysis method. Some popular job analysis methods are Observation, Individual Interview and Structured Questionnaires. Organizations choose methods based on various guidelines that are all link to the job responsibilities, company culture and size of the organization. Each organization must select which methods are the best match for their candidate search. The Observation method includes studying someone while they perform their job in an effort to better understand the tasks and duties necessary to this particular job. The advantages are, the observer can obtain first hand knowledge and information about the job being analyzed. This can provide an accurate picture of the candidate ability to do the job at hand. Other Job Analysis methods such as the interview or questionnaire only allow HR to indirectly obtain this information. With other methods there is a risk of omissions or exaggerations are introduced either by the incumbent being interviewed or by items on the questionnaire.
The next method is the Interview method; this method involves conducting interviews of the person leaving this position to gain insights into what duties they perform. Interviews can also be conducted on other employees performing the same job but in most cases start with the HR manager. The advantages are that it allows the incumbent to describe tasks and duties that are not observable. The disadvantage is the candidate can exaggerate or omit tasks and duties. The interviewer must be skilled and ask the proper questions.
The Structured Questionnaire method uses a standardized ...

planning. Career planning is a task that, every individuals does to achieve their
motto. Everyone set up their mind to reach to their target after a certain period, but
to reach this target every individual plan their path or way and goes though a
systematic way to meet this target. Generally, career word stands to the meaning of
occupation or a profession, that everyone undertakes for a long period of time and
to get benefit from it. This planning is the string of a particular job that individuals
held up throughout their working life. For instance; marketing profession. Career
planning is combined of some actions and activities that everyone follows and

Career plays an important role in individual’s life, which is going to cover the largest
part of life, when a person is fully satisfied with his life and the satisfied with his job
that they are doing; that time they realize that they achieved their motto that they
planned well. Not only planning a career plan is everything, it is not going to roll by
it’s self, but also following the own plan and performing by step by step can achieve
the target. For example; it is easy to make a career plan, that one guy will be a HR
manager of a well known company alike: GOOGLE, but the person has to make
themselves ready and prepare to be on the position that they dreamed. It is quite
easy to make a dream of career but hard to be on the position. Without any hard
work and strategy, it is quite impossible to achieve anything in life. There is a saying’
“life is not a bed of roses’.
For me as an individual, I am having my own dream to see myself in a management
sector (HR Manager). But, in the begging of my carrier plan; it is important to know
what is this career all about, future of this career. What sorts of opportunity and
obstacles are involved in this career and how to pass the obstacles using the
opportunities?
Basically, human resource is all about developing the employees, so they can
become more valuable and well trained. Not only this, it also consists of; job analysis,
planning of personal needs, choosing the right person for the right position,
managing salaries, arranging benefits and enticement.
HR management job is a set of interrelated activities and duties that a manager
should perform. This duties and activities is consisting of various task and
responsibilities. There are few and various stages of this job role, including; Job
analysis, HR planning, recruitment, selection, placement and Induction. Firstly, job
analysis is a process that is normally use to gather the data about the job role,
responsibilities and the environment of that job, as it was mentioned before that job
analysis is made up with several stages those are known as; job positioning,
description of job and job worth (education, previous experience). Afterwards
secondly comes HR planning, this stage is all about allocation people for specific
place, to find out which department need more staff or which department of staff
need more training and development. Afterwards, third step is recruitment, in this
stage HR manager’s role is to recruit more people where it’s needed. It’s not only just
recruiting people but also choosing the best person for that specific role. Afterwards
training and induction. After choosing the right person for the organization,
managers must train the staff where they need to develop themselves and giving

them a brief about the company. Thus employee get an overview idea about the
organization and know about their job that what they have to do in their job role. HR
management job roles depend on organization, but there is some job roles similar in
every sectors, those are;
Compensation and Benefit Manager
Training and Development Specialist
Employment, recruitment and placement specialist
HR information System Analysis (HRIS)
Above are the job roles that as a HR manager can perform. But in this job sector as a
HR manager anyone can easily boost up their dream because this sector is an up
growing and well demanded sector.
In last few years, Vietnam has become and attractive destination for all sorts of
business. In fact, their Labour market is up growing and they are recruiting more HR
skilled managers, below here is an attachment of the recruitment;
Fig 2: Job recruiting in HR field in Vietnam
In England, recently National career service a statistics of HR managers job
importance and statistic of this market, they came up with a view that by 2020 this
job field will be more demanding than now, even though they published a statistic

It seems quite easy to set up a career plan as a HR manager but this career is full of
obstacles and hard to achieve the estimated goal. However, every individual should
choose the best option in term of choosing their career that what they want to se
themselves after finishing their graduation. Career planning has few flow and stages,
from my own perspective view every individual might follow this chart;
Every organization require a well qualified person who can be useful for their
company or organization. Even though some people look for graduate students with
experience. But, every company/organization is different then other, so with having
an experience employee must not do the same job because organization culture
might be different from each other. This era is 21st
century and it is much more
challenging in term of management. Because no company doesn’t want to make loss
and doesn’t want to choose any person who might not get beneficial for their

organization. So in this challenging market, there might be a lot of challenges,
obstacles but we should face the reality to compete the reality.
For all the students who are planning to wok as a HR manager, for them first I will
suggest them to finish their graduation with good grades and make their plan for
future career and to be aware about that what they want to do in their life and being
able to compare and contrast in the career. Mare sure to mundane yourself with
different variety of career alternative that exist. Having a general idea and experience
on some specific skills, alike; Computer, Data analysis, analyzing information,
communication skills, good leadership skill. When still now, students are doing their
graduation, on the same time attending some workshop, join campus activities,
joining cultural activities. If anyone get chance than it is better to het and
INTERNSHIP, that helps a lot term of applying for a job, because most of the
organization look for someone with experience. Engage on networking; get to know
each other faculty members, staff members, Linkden, facebook, and other various
social media. Here is a chart as following, if anyone follow that then anyone can
easily make their career plan easily;

The career plan that above is a brief plan for anyone who is planning their career,
because firstly people should know their own value that what they are capable for
and what skills they have and how they can use it. Secondly, learning about own self,
to know their own skills and ability and able to cope with difficulties. Thirdly comes
identifying own skills, we are our own career developer and we should know our own
skills and weak point, after knowing this it is better for us to improve our weakness
and having more options for our career planning. There is a saying “If you plan to
fail, you fail to plan”. Afterwards, having all ideas and experience, we should know
better what options there are available for our chosen career. What are opportunities
involved in the career and what can be the obstacles. Having more idea about career
settled goal. As a student everyone has their own major, students who wants to join
HR department, they should choose their major same like that and link it with the
career.
