Presented by Cristina Lynn of Parking Consultants International at the World Parking Symposium in Breda, Netherlands, and the Middle East Parking Conference in Abu Dhabi, this presentation explains and explores the benefits of automatic Parking Guidance Systems for car parks.
The main objective of this project is to avoid the congestion in the car parking area by implementing a parking management system. Normally at public places such as multiplex theaters, market areas, hospitals, function-halls, offices and shopping malls, one experiences the discomfort in looking out for a vacant parking slot, though it’s a paid facility with an attendant/ security guard. The parking management system is proposed to demonstrate hazel free parking for 32 cars, with 16 slots on each of the two floors. The proposed system uses 32 infrared transmitter-receiver pairs that remotely communicate the status of parking occupancy to the microcontroller system and displays the vacant slots on the display at the entrance of the parking so that the user gets to know the availability /unavailability of parking space prior to his/her entry into the parking place. In this system the users are guided to the vacant slot for parking using Bi-colored LEDs and the ultrasonic sensors enable the drivers to park the vehicle safely. The parking charges are automatically deducted from the user’s account using RFID technology. From security point of view a daily log-book of entry/exit along with the vehicle details is also registered in the computer’s memory.Implementation of concept of green communication and exception handling facility make the system concept unique and innovative.
Vehicle Number Plate Recognition using MATLABAI Publications
The VPR (Vehicle Number plate Recognition) system is based on image processing technology. It is one of the necessary systems designed to detect the vehicle number plate. In today’s world with the increasing number of vehicle day by day it’s not possible to manually keep a record of the entire vehicle. With the development of this system it becomes easy to keep a record and use it whenever required. The main objective here is to design an efficient automatic vehicle identification system by using vehicle number plate. The system first would capture the vehicles image as soon as the vehicle reaches the security checking area. The captured images are then extracted by using the segmentation process. Optical character recognition is used to identify the characters. The obtained data is then compared with the data stored in their database. The system is implemented and simulated on MATLAB and performance is tested on real images. This type of system is widely used in Traffic control areas, tolling, parking area .etc. This system is mainly designed for the purpose of security system. Basically video surveillance system is used for security purpose as well as monitoring systems. But Detection of moving object is a challenging part of video surveillance. Video surveillance system is used for Home security, Military applications, Banking /ATM security, Traffic monitoring etc. Now a day’s due to decreasing costs of high quality video surveillance systems, human activity detection and tracking has become increasingly in practical. Accordingly, automated systems have been designed for numerous detection tasks, but the task of detecting illegally parked vehicles has been left largely to the human operators of surveillance systems. The detection of Indian vehicles by their number plates is the most interesting and challenging research topic from past few years.

Knowing where your vehicles and assets are at all times helps you regain control of your fleet operations. You will know how fast the vehicle was driven, where and when the vehicle stopped, and for how long. The cost of fuel is always a concern, and fuel savings continue to be fundamentally important in running a successful fleet operation. In most vehicle operations fuel expenses account for at least 32% of operating costs, so fuel monitoring & management is the logical place to start in order to reach fuel efficiency.

In this project we will send the location coordinates attached in the link to Google Maps with your Vehicle’s Location. We will also be able to track the vehicle speed stoppages, trailer temperature and fuel level in the tank along with driver information.

Introduction
Keytop Vehicle Tracking System combines parking guidance and car searching functions
together,not only guides drivers to find certain free parking space quickly,but also guides
them to find their parked cars.
Car searching function:The car owners can find their own vehicles by inputting the license
plate number without card positioning. The system operates like this: input the license
plate number to inquiry PC which is installed at the entrances or exits of carparks, the
Parking Koisk will pick the data of the server after receiving the commands, then display
the map of the parking lot that the owners stands. The map will display the position of the
owners and the location of their cars.
Parking guidance function: This system can make the car drivers to park conveniently and
quickly as well as monitor the parking space to make the management more standard and
orderly. It will increase the utilization. The parking detection uses video detecting
technology.
