2016 Primary Election And Presidential Election Essay
The 2016 primary election has been the most intriguing in modern history, mainly due to one
candidate; Donald J. Trump. Before he won the general election, President elect Donald J. Trump won
the Republican primary. Since the day he announced his candidacy by riding down an escalator in
Trump Tower, pundits and politicians didn t seriously believe he had a chance. As the debates were
held and the primaries went on, it became apparent that he had an actual chance of winning the
nomination. The Republican primary showed that there was an anger toward traditional politicians, an
anger which Donald Trump tapped into. The rise of Trump also showed that the old rules of what was
acceptable to say do not apply any more. These and other factors lead me to the conclusion that the
Republican party lost control of the 2016 primary election and failed to choose its eventual nominee.
To understand how the GOP failed to select its candidate, we should first understand the
circumstances leading up to the 2016 primary. In the 1990 s the North American Free Trade
Agreement (NAFTA) and other free trade deals dealt a blow to US manufacturing. People that worked
in manufacturing lost their jobs, in addition to those in the steel and coal industries . These factors
affected the area known as the Rust Belt especially hard. In politics, for decades, politicians learned
that to get votes, they must act very polished and speak like a politician. Both Democrats and
Republicans were generally

The Book The Dark Wall
The Dark Wall The bell rang and we all squirmed out of Mrs. Clifford s room. Everyone with the same
waning, goad. Just before we pressed through the iron guard we all hear a scream. A voice so high
pitched it sent a shrill through every one of us and echoed down the pale halls. Right, then we knew
we were about to have our ID cards handed to us. We drop them in the thermoset polymer pale with
the sound of a marble pendulum. Out we go hands on fire, heads melting and sit under an azure,
impalpable extremity. The shade from the tree froze us as it blocked out the sun. The whistle blew and
we all strutted along the side of the blacktop. Just as we get to the edge we become a herd of gazelles

Black People Interview Report
Me: Hello, Mrs.Baker Smith, umm I m here to interview you about being some of the first black
people to live on a street called Albanus street, in the Olney neighborhood. Is that okay?
Mom: Yup
Me: Alright, first question is, how did you feel being one of the only blacks on your street?
Mom: Well, initially when I moved on the block I was only 6 years old... maybe 7. I didn t really feel
any type of way because as a child, or human being, some things are learned and experienced. I had
never really been around a lot of white people, so it wasn t really taught to me that white people didn t
necessarily like black people. Simply because they were black. I mean I knew a little bit about slavery

thing in people s hearts. When reading it, it is easy to point out how he thinks kindness is the most
important thing it one s life. In Maria Tatar s An Introduction to Fairy Tales, she talks about fairy tales

way people look at certain things and the paths they choose. Cinderella, by Charles Perrault, is a story
that inspires all kinds of people to focus on inner beauty in order to get their happily ever after.
Cinderella, by Charles Perrault is a piece of writing that seems to be an average fairy tale. The name
Cinderella is a name known throughout the world; it is known by a variation of people ranging from
kids to adults. We associate this name with the average fairy tale. When looking at this particular story

Duty Of Care Health And Social Care
Unit 1
Principles for implementing duty of care in health, social care or children s and young people s
settings
1 Understand how duty of care contributes to safe practice
(a) What it means to have a duty of care in one s own work role
A duty of care is a legal obligation to all Health and Social carers and professionals who have to act in
the best interests of individuals and others, also not to act or fail to act in a way that results in harm.
This duty of care can be a general implied minimum standard of care or can be outlined in different
codes of practice or guidelines in various legislation. This duty of care can also be more specific and

I will be discussing the organized crime of biker gangs or rather clubs . There are many different
relationships dealing with biker gangs, both in and out of the gang. Many people see them as a
nuisance, while others see them as kind of a group of Robin Hoods.
Many problems that arise with biker gangs are various with them being anywhere from murder, theft,
vandalism, drugs and minor traffic violations. The Hells Angels are one of the largest and most feared
biker clubs. They are hard and will do anything to get their way. They tend to go after their enemies

The Advocacy Of Women s Rights On The Grounds Of...
Feminism. The advocacy of women s rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality
to men. Why are some people so angry or offended when they hear this word? Why does the idea of
women being equal to men annoy and infuriate them? Do they not believe that women should have the
same rights as men? Should women have to cover up to avoid being cat called by disgusting men?
Should women have to cover up to avoid being molested or raped? Should women have to stay quiet
when they are raped or abused because no one would ever believe them? Should woman be told what
to wear, say, or do with their body? I ask myself these questions every day. The question that I ask
myself the most is, Why are women of color, gay, and transgender women constantly being
disrespected?
Woman as a whole get disrespected on a daily basis. We get cat called, get told what to do with our
bodies, victim blamed, our bodies are over sexualized, and were viewed as weak and just a piece of
meat. Being a woman is already scary enough but being a gay, transgender, or woman of color is the
most terrifying experience. Its seems as if the more melanin your skin contains, the more disrespect
you receive. Why is that? Although being a woman is hard, being a white woman gives you so much
more privilege than what a woman of color gets. First of all, white woman are seen as beautiful and
attractive because of their skin. They aren t constantly told that their skin is too dark or ugly because

Analysis Of Las Cuatro Gibbis Sabias
Liz Volpi created her lithography printmaking painting Las Cuatro Gibbis Sabias made with
Senefelder black ink on archival paper. The Spanish title means together at last in English. The
painting s subject is an animated character named Gibbi repeated four times in four images illustrating
three popular actions of the Three Wise Monkeys symbol: see no evil , hear no evil , speak no evil ,
and the fourth one is the creativity of the artist do no evil . Each action is a rectangle with different
gestures of the subject. The artwork was presented in an exhibition at Brookhaven College Gallery (F
Building) in November, 2017 and belongs to Liz Volpi under David Newman s instruction.
The work is a representation of the gestures of Three Wise Monkeys symbol from Japan as God s
advice to see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil and usually come with do no evil . Four parts of the
painting are centered on the subject with two thirds in space, so there is a small amount of unused
space on the top of each part for the background. Liz Volpi uses only black and white in her work with
contrast between the subject and background. The color value changes from rectangle to rectangle. If
the Gibbi is painted black, the background is lighter with grey or white and vice versa, which creates
contrast and highlights the actions of the subject. The subject in top left and bottom right images is
painted in darker value than the background and the subject in bottom left and top right is painted in
lighter value than the background. Volpi uses broken thin lines to direct viewers eyes into the
character. The broken lines are the skin s type of Gibbi as description of a different kind of species.
The repetition of the painting s subject Gibbi provides a sense of unity while the different actions of
the subject between the four images offer variety. This variety moves the viewers eye around the
painting. In each image, the viewers attention is centered on the various actions of the subject s hands
and the gestures of the subject s face to express the meaning of each phrase written on the top of each
rectangle. The first image on top left represents speak no evil with Gibbi s hands covering her mouth.

Tomorrow When The War Began Themes
There are two main themes in the novel Tomorrow When The War Began. Those themes are mostly
peace and war and also a heroism theme as well. The theme of peace and war is that it is a central
theme or one of the central themes and quite often, the characters are gripped in the turmoil of
conflict, while hoping for days of peace to come or reminiscing about the good life before the war
itself. Peace and War has been explored throughout the whole novel as the seven teenagers go out in
their town Wirrawee where it is in the middle of an all out war. This causes them to do things they
have never done before in which they are forced to fight and make sure that they don t get caught or
killed as well as hope that their families are safe.

This theme means that whether it is false heroism, or true courageous acts, this theme has been
explored quite often in the novel Tomorrow When The War Began. Some examples include quotes on
pages 239 and 255. Page 239 showed that they didn t really have a choice in doing what they had to
do in the war, leading them to be the heroes of their country, We could involve ourselves in some way
that would help us win this war and get our country back... but I don t think that I could sit here for
months, not doing anything... I feel we ve got to get out and have a go at something.
Lastly, on page 255 Ellie said, I was a bit nervous being paired with Fi, I must admit. There was no
way I was going to be a hero, but at least I was used to doing the outdoors, practical things and I
suppose that gives you a bit of confidence. This quote has shown that they had no faith in being

The case of Grutter V. Bollinger was based on a racial decision by the University of Michigan Law
School denying Barbara Grutter entrance. She had a good GPA and a good place on the LSAT, and she
should have been allowed into the school without her race being considered.
Introduction
This was a United States Supreme Court case, in where Barbara Grutter applied for the University of

around 1,200 students. This University is consistently on the ranks among the highest rated law

But the Court expects that after 25 years the use of ethnic preferences will not be necessary to interest
the authorization if they accept the student or not.
After some time, the public universities and also the other public institutes, of higher education, across
the Unites States were allowed to use race as one of the factors defining if the student will be admitted
or not. Any higher education should not be a governmental interest if the school should use race as a
source of having some kind of diversity in the schools. And if the program uses smart decisions to
achieve that end, most likely the Court will find the situation constitutional. Also the majority of
decisions by Sandra O Connor were to try to have the goal be the general society.
Two different people had problems with Bollinger, Gratz and also Grutter, with two different cases,

What Is The Theme Of The Oxen By Thomas Hardy
In synopsis, at that point: the sonnet s speaker inclines upon a forest entryway and perspectives the
land around him as an image of the occasions of the nineteenth century, the Century s cadaver outleant
; the speaker is made a piece of the scene, not only a confined eyewitness, as outleant echoes the
speaker s own activity toward the begin of the ballad ( I leant upon a coppice door ). The century is
biting the dust ( sepulcher , demise regret ) since it is at its end, yet in addition since something has
kicked the bucket because of the occasions of that century: religious confidence. This religious
measurement to the ballad is borne out by Hardy s own convictions yet in addition by his different
sonnets, for example, The Oxen (which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The matching of the two or the possibility of a couple is built before the sonnet even begins. In the
title, Twain , the old word for two is utilized, creating the possibility of a matching, with the most
evident combine being the ship and the iceberg. From the 6th stanza onwards, Hardy s lexis
recommends that the union of the two powers was fated, an unavoidable occasion planned by some
covered up, wild power which is shown in phrases like The Immanent Will (VI, 18) and the Spinner of
Years (XI, 31). Despite the fact that these expressions are utilized as a part of his books to signify the
powers that work in human life, in the ballad the implicit power Hardy proposes might be nature; the
matching of human innovation and nature can be seen unmistakably in the sonnet with all the new
advancements of people set against the greater power of nature. Tough talks about that while the
Titanic was being assembled, nature as well arranged a vile mate (VII, 19) and, in the following
stanza, Hardy makes a feeling of threat in the lines And as the shrewd ship developed/In stature,
beauty and tone/In shadowy quiet separation developed the Iceberg as well (VIII, 22 24). While
commentator Chris Baldick claims Hardy s The Convergence of the Twain implies a philosophical
position and that it deliberately abstains from admonishing , kindred faultfinder Donald Davie claims
the lyric extraordinarily scolds the vanity and extravagance which made and occupied the staterooms
of the sea liner in this manner proposing Hardy

Officer Smith s Dilemma
Unhappy employees can be toxic to any organization. The lack of interest, blatant disregard for
company policies and procedures, tardiness and a host of other negative behavior can quickly spread
to other employees, especially new recruits. The key is to diagnosis the situation and deal with it
sooner than later. Providing immediate attention to an escalating issue displays not only efficient
leadership but also builds trust with other currently loyal workers.
Upon reviewing Officer Smith s lower than average field statistics, I decided to reach out to her
previous supervisor to inquire about her performance. The phone call with Officer Smith s Sargent in
Alpha District proved to be fruitless. The supervisor attested Officer Smith had several curbside
counseling sessions and other feedback to improve her work. Unfortunately, none of the sessions were
documented and therefore is merely hearsay. As her current supervisor, I have to assume no steps were
taken to provide Officer Smith with the resources and training she so desperately needs.
With the stress and pressure Officer Smith must have endured, I believe she is disgruntled. She is

Examples Of Mintzberg s Mode Of Strategic Decision Making
Individual Assignment 1. Please discuss Mintzberg s Mode of Strategic Decision Making by using real
example and must relate with Three Characteristics of Strategic Decisions. In the Mintzberg s Mode of
Strategic Decision Making have three most typical approaches or modes of strategic decision making
which are Entrepreneurial, Adaptive, and Planning. After that, fourth mode was added in this decision
making by Quinn which is Logical Incrementalism. First, the Entrepreneurial Mode is the strategy is
made by one powerful individual. This is also the first stage in company s development when the
founders make most or all day to day and strategic decisions in the firm. This mode is more focusing
on the opportunities and growth. Apple Computer Inc. is the one example of this mode of strategic
decision making. The company reflected Steve Job s vision of computer for the rest of us . According
Steve Job, we started out to get a computer in the hands of everyday people, and we succeeded beyond
our wildest dreams. This is showing the opportunities of Apple Computer Inc. in the mode of
entrepreneurial although the idea comes from the Wozniak s hobby. Second, the Adaptive Mode which
is the characterized by reactive solutions than proactive search for new opportunities. This mode of
decisions making is referred to as muddling through . This is the firm s development where long term
strategic decision is closely linked to its short term strategy. In 1980, Apple Computer Inc. has a drop

1921 as a member of the minority Labour Group. Simmons was considered a firebrand by political
opponents and allies alike for his uncompromising position on issues such as unemployment,
homelessness and temperance. Intermittently, between 1921 and 1945, he served on the council for
over fifteen years. First elected to Parliament in 1929 for Birmingham Erdington, he remained loyal to
the Labour Party when two of his political patrons, Oswald Mosley and Ramsey Macdonald, did not.
Generally supportive of Mosley until the latter formed the New Party, Simmons was anguished by
Macdonald s decision to form the National Government in 1931. As an MP, the rights of ex
servicemen of all ranks remained one of his priorities; a disabled private soldier himself, he utilized
his experience to campaign for others. He also spoke in favour of disarmament, limitations on military
expenditure and support for the League of Nations. The strength of his convictions on these issues led
him to defy the Labour Whip on occasion; in March 1930 he spoke in favour and voted for an
amendment to the Air estimates that would have virtually abolished the Air Force.
In the period leading up to 1939 he was critical of the Chamberlain government

According to FBI statistics, since 9/11, there have been more hate crimes committed against Jews than
against Muslims (Goldberg, 2010). Fifty nine percent of hate crimes are anti Semitic, as opposed to
14% against anti Islamic. The ratio hovers around four to one. Why are we not hearing more about
Judeophobia? If the United States is so Islamophobic, then why would we troops to liberate Kuwait,
prevent Muslim bloodshed in Bosnia and Kosovo, or protect food supplies for hungry Somalis (Malik,
2005)? If the United States truly hated Muslims, or Islam, does it make any sense for us to continue
battling the Islamic State in Syria? Some believe the claim of Islamophobia is used by politicians as
part of a political agenda. Others suggest Islamophobia is a convenient label used to explain why
Muslims are not flourishing in American society. Bottom line is that any criticism of Islam is labeled
Islamophobia. It is a term used by Muslim clerics against anyone who speaks out against Islam. As
political satirist Bill Maher once said, Islamophobic is a word created by fascists, and used by
cowards, to manipulate morons. (Real Clear Politics,

Certainly, health care services in the United States are a controversial topic. In 1900, the child welfare
movement made an impact on public health as well as in child health care. Public health helped to
catch infectious diseases and many other family conditions. Accordingly, the government established a
national public health infrastructure. Indeed, hospitals, medical schools and research laboratory
creation made a difference in children s health. In fact, the government commitment was to prevent
the infant and child s mortality. Later, the government expands health programs. It determined the
formation of health care programs such as Medicare and Medicaid. Indeed, the government mandated
Early and Periodic Screening for children. Then, the United States government established the State
Children s Insurance Programs (SCHIP). However, more services should to be offered to support the
children s wellbeing. Health care insurance must offer full cover services to each child in the United
States. This way, children s illnesses will be treated effectively (Howard Golden, 2017). ... Show more

Masculinity
In Paul Theroux s essay being a Man Theroux describes the detrimental effects of gender roles on the
individual, specifically focusing on males and their quest for masculinity. Even the expression Be a
man! strikes me as insulting and abusive. It means: Be stupid, be unfeeling, obedient, soldierly, and
stop thinking.
Theroux continues by describing society s idea of manliness as destructive. A male s desire to be
manly fuels anti feministic beliefs, and without disposing of this traditional idea of manliness, males
are doomed to repeat a cycle of insecurity and dependence on others to boost their own egos. Theroux
builds on the idea of the grotesque mature of manhood in America by describing how masculinity
Denies men the natural friendship of women. He uses his own experiences in order to expand on this
point. Theroux claims that at the age where he craved the attention of girls, he was sent off to boy s

On the contrary, he describes it as an unmerciful and punishing burden. While women have to deal
with a variety of problems, men also have to deal with their own set of problems and pressures placed
on them, merely based on the fact that they re males. He closes with a justification for men objecting
feminism, And this is also why men often object to feminism, but are afraid to explain why: of course
women have justified grievance, but most men believe and with reason that their lives are just as bad.
This statement is a critical point in the essay because it drives home the idea that both men and women
have their own set of grievances.. However, the issues women face are much more prominent,
therefore the problems that men face are overshadowed by the problems that women face. While
Theroux acknowledges the struggle of women, he wants to shatter the illusion that men live carefree

Dark Knight Sparknotes
I am going to write a film analysis essay for the film The Dark Knight. My chosen essay topic is:
Analyse how visual or sound effects were used to emphasise a theme in the visual or oral text(s). I
need to show how the main themes of showing morality when making decisions and the power held
by the villain are presented in the film through the use of dialogue, camerawork, sound, and editing. I
will refer to the scene when The Joker announces his social experiment and he and Batman have their
final fight, The Ferry Scene, for my specific example. I will also comment on the director, Christopher
Nolan s intentions in order to show my personal insight into the film.

If, however, one of you presses the button, I ll let that boat live. So, who s it going to be: Harvey Dent
s most wanted scumbag collection, or the sweet and innocent civilians? You choose... Oh, and you
might want to decide quickly because the people on the other boat might not be so noble. This is The
Joker s way of giving the passengers an ultimatum. Live and kill, or be killed. His experiment furthers
the effect of his actions as an anarchist on the people of Gotham, as the passengers are left in shock
and have to make a life or death decision in such a small amount of time. The lack of hesitation in his
relaxed voice makes it clear to the audience that this was a well rehearsed and planned announcement.
He had organised this and was then ready to begin to carry out his experiment, in which he expected at
least one boat full of people to die as a result. This showed the power and control he had as Gotham s
villain because in just one statement he was able to terrorise people and leave them with such as
difficult decision to make. All scenarios he had implied to the passengers resulted in at least one ferry
being blown up, while he would remain unaffected by the outcome. As well as creating a feeling of
fear and suspense for the audience, who are watching the scene play out to discover the outcome, it
also makes the viewer question: What is the right and wrong decision to make? What would you do if
it was you in that situation? At the end of the scene,

Everything comes from somewhere, said Luger. He finds that his passion for jazz music and Italian
American music can be easily interconnected since all music influences one another. One thing I
found interesting about Luger s music is that when I asked him to tell me more about the Italian music
that he plays, he corrected me, and stated that the music he plays should be referred to as Italian
American because Italian music has a broad range of styles. He said as much as he loves to play
instruments and sing, he is aware that he does not have an opera voice, which would allow him to sing
authentic Italian music. Classical Italian music is considered to be Opera. Opera was born in Italy in
1600 during the Italian Renaissance and by the late 16th century. Now, when thinking about Classical
Italian music, I think of one of the most famous Italian opera composers, Giuseppe Verdi (1813 1901).
Verdi s works are most noted for their emotional intensity, tuneful melodies, and dramatic
characterizations. Verdi transformed the Italian opera into a unified musical and dramatic entity. Verdi
composed over twenty eight operas. Macbeth, a performance by Verdi based off the work of William
Shakespeare, was a popular show performed in New York City in the late 1800s. Verdi s works, along

Factor Analysis Of Information Risk
Factor Analysis of Information Risk (FAIR)
Factor Analysis of Information Risk (FAIR) is a framework for understanding, analyzing and
measuring information risk (Violino, 2010). FAIR is a Value at Risk (VaR) model for cyber security
and operational risk and is considered an international standard by The Open Group. The FAIR model
quantifies information risk in financial terms using a scientific approach (RiskLens, 2015). Other risk
models measure risk in qualitative terms based on the opinions of subject matter experts, reliance on
practitioner intuition and experience, industry lore and best practices (Violino, 2010). The primary
components of the FAIR framework are a taxonomy for information risk, standardized terms and
definitions for information risk terms, data collection criteria, scales for measuring risk factors, a
computational engine for calculating risk, and a simulation model to measure risk scenarios (Jones,
2005). The framework is used to develop threat modelled information risk processes based on past
experiences, up‐to‐date intelligence feeds, recognition of trends, and a valuation of the organizational
assets (Optimal Risk, 2015). Figure 1 Threat Modeled Risk Framework Source: (Optimal Risk, 2015)

challenges authority; regardless if they are the common man, or a person with power. Secondly,
tragedy can be found anywhere. Even though men believe that in modern age heroes and tragedies do
not occur, there is always a possibility that the common man is able to face the worst of tragedies. One
of main events that occur in a tragic play is an event in which a tragic hero risks their life by

Using Mobile Technology And Its Impact
Today s workforce has changed dramatically compared to the past. One aspect of this change is in
terms of work life balance, particularly in the realms technological development and globalization,
and their combined effect on the modern workforce. These aspects are responsible for the
transformation of the traditional work week, especially in fields where the work is done through the
use of computers and technologically advanced machinery, as well as jobs that can be relocated in
third world countries. The introduction of new technologies such as mobile devices, portables, and the
internet has accelerated the work pace to obsession over efficiency and precision. Consequently, this
adds pressure on managers and employees, forcing them to take their work home and causing a
deterioration in their quality of life. However, the exact degree of this change from the past remains to
be well studied and researched. To further evaluate this claim, 11 subjects were interviewed about the
use of mobile technology and its impact. These interviews targeted managers of all levels and of
different years of experience. These findings are also supported by using the theory of the economist
Frederick Herzberg, as well as from Robert Tannenbaum and Warren Schimidt, and other articles and
studies done in the business world. Technology as an Important Tool The introduction of new
technologies, like mobile phones, tablets, laptops, portable devices and the new pervasiveness of the

Traditional Functions Of Family Essay
Everyone is part of a family. Family, sometimes provide us with a sense of identity and sense of
belonging. The definition of family, according to , is when two or more people are related by marriage
or blood. Sociologists also define family as an institution. It is called an institution as it meets social
needs such as child bearing, basic necessities and economic resources. The traditional type of family is
called a nuclear family. A nuclear family consists of a mum, dad and their children. Although nuclear
families are the norm and also more dominant here in Singapore, there has also been a rise in
alternative families. Alternative families are families that are not part of the social norm, such as a
single parent household, blended families and extended families. A family is also either dead, which
means they are not changing or they are in a state of constant transition. This essay aims to shed light
on a few of the factors and theories that cause a family to be dead or to be transitioning constantly.

Industrialization led to nuclear families replacing extended families. This happened because
industrialization caused social mobility, which led to nuclear families separating from their extended
families to seek jobs and to get economically stable.
Industrialization also caused a decline in fertility and caused the relationship between husband and
wives, child and parent to change. This is due to the economic changes that happened post
industrialization. As the economy increased, husbands wages did not suffice the families expenses and
this led to the women finding jobs outside the home. This caused the women to neglect their
household chores and it also led to both parents neglecting their children (Accampo, Fuchs and

The Characteristic Of Decisions In Steinbeck s Of Mice And...
The ability to make decisions and choices is a defining characteristic of humanity. Decisions define us,
and they reveal to the world our values, motivations, and desires. As renowned author J.K Rowling
once wrote, It is our choices... that show what we truly are (Rowling 333). This concept is one that can
be readily observed in history, literature, and society and it is especially prevalent in Steinbeck s
novella, Of Mice and Men. The decisions that individuals make in both fiction and the real world, can
reveal characteristics of themselves that even they do not know. In Of Mice and Men, the first defining
decision that reveals a character s personality is Candy s decision to forego shooting his dog. In the
story, Candy is forced to make a difficult choice: to either kill his old, seemingly useless dog himself,
or to let someone else do it. Ultimately, Candy succumbs to pressure from his fellow ranchers and he
reluctantly lets someone else kill his beloved companion. When this impetuous decision is dissected,
Candy s demeanor, values, and varying characteristics are revealed. Initially, when the idea of killing
Candy s dog is brought up by Carlson, Candy immediately dismisses it saying, You ain t got no gun...
[m]aybe tomorra (Steinbeck 47). However, when this idea is suggested just one more time, Candy
agrees. This entire interaction shows that Candy is extremely compliant and acquiescent in his
demeanor. He shies away from conflict and he will quickly change his own

Creation myth on page 19 to 20 in Fiero s The Humanistic Tradition, Book 1. The Song of Creation
from the Rig Veda on page 15 originates from India. Meanwhile The Babylonian Creation myth on
page 19 to 20 originated from Babylon. The main differences between these two creation myths is that
the first creation myth is based on the importance of water as the necessary requirement for the
beginning of life. For example, in the Rig Veda, the creation of the world was stated to come from a

The primary source narrates about how back then before the universe was created, there was no
existence, no death or immortality (Fiero 15). It also raises questions about the creation of the universe
such as What covered it? Where was it? In whose keeping? (Fiero 15). These shows the uncertainty of
how the universe came to be. Meanwhile in The Babylonian Creation myth, it narrates or tells the
story about not only how the universe was created, but also how the gods entered the world, how the
earth came to be, as well as the creation of Babylon and humans (Fiero 19). In the first myth, the
universe was created when That One which came to be enclosed in nothing, arose at last, born of the
power of heat (Fiero 15). In my opinion, one canthink that back in the time, the people who created
this myth believed in a geocentric view of the universe where Earth was in the center. And that that
One came to be the sun which gave light to the world and allowed the prospering of plants and life.
Some imagery found in this primary source were darkness wrapped in darkness , only illumined water
cosmic waters, in depths unfathomed, (Fiero 15). These forms of imagery depicts or describes what
the universe was like before the that One arose. The order of creation in this myth seems to be that of
the One being in the empty universe before anything else and then when that One arose, he or she
brought heat as well as light in the world which most likely led to the beginning of light in the world
leading to life. In this creation myth, one can feel like the One is the universe or the creation because
according to lines 23, it states The gods themselves are later than creation (Fiero 15). So one can feel
like the universe created the gods not the other way around. In the text, life began with the arrival

ABSTRACT
Structural defects which are inevitable during the production, chemical and heat treatment processes
can affect the mechanical properties of graphene and also defects can be deliberately introduced in
graphene by ion beam irradiation to get required properties for specific applications. So,
understanding the effect of defects on mechanical properties and failure behaviours of a graphene
sheet is important for its applications. In this work, the effects of linear and angular orientation of
different types of Stone Thrower Wales (STW 1 and STW 2) defects on the mechanical properties and
failure behaviour of graphene membrane have been investigated in the frame of molecular dynamics.
This work discussing about tuneable mechanical properties by amending the linear orientation of STW
1 and STW 2 defects at different angles in zigzag direction and armchair direction respectively. The
results obtained from the present work may provide the insights in tailoring the mechanical properties
by preparing defects in graphene, and give a full picture for the applications of graphene with defects
in flexible electronics and nanodevices.

Observation Of Ivor Dent School
For my observation, I went and visited Ivor Dent school, Ivor Dent is the new school that has opened
near Abbottsfield, Edmonton. The school was named after a man named Ivor Dent, he is most well
known for opening the LRT system, however he was also the principal of Rundle School in 1980. This
is important to note, since Ivor Dent opened three other schools in the neighbourhood were closed,
Rundle elementary school, Lawton elementary and R.J. Scott Junior high. Due to the mix of the three
schools Ivor Dent welcomes kids from kindergarten all the way to grade nine, this year they have had
423 students enroll. This school has been built in a low income community and is labelled as an inner
city school. To meet the extraordinary needs of all their students Ivor dent offers regular classroom
programs, behavioral and learning assistance program and full day kindergarten. Ivor Dent is based on
the four corner stones that all Edmonton public schools follow: equity, accountability, collaboration,
and integrity. While at Ivor Dent I visited with Amber Casali, she is one of the full day kindergarten
teachers. She shared with me some of the new challenges she is facing being in a new school. Amber

Let s say that the situation will continue like it is now, none of the 2 mentioned dangers happening,
other thing can become a real pain for Export Brands International: I am referring here at the fact that
consumers are increasingly shifting away from mass produced beers towards high quality, classier, and
locally produced craft micro brews. Or the fact that Japanese consumers will be tempted to buy
affordable domestic brands due to the economic downturn. As because Corona is the top seller in the
Export Brands International portfolio, their revenues and profitability will be seriously affected.
Not to say the fact that right now, Corona is not the only Mexican beer present in the Japanese market,
now being under direct attack by a series of other Mexican beer that have high marketing budgets. To
maintain the position, Export Brands International is forced to pump heavily in the investment
marketing budget , much more than the others as Corona must change and reinvent itself. Export
Brands International must come with something new trying once again to differentiate as in the
beginnings, now being a lot harder.
The situation can even explode for Export Brands International, as large beers conglomerates with
tremendous power, are targeting the same segment and are creating similar beers. We have the real

Do Violent Video Games Cause Violent Behavior Essay
Do violent video games cause behavioral problems? For years this topic has been highly debated
amongst parents and the players. Violent video games do cause behavioral problems because they alter
a gamers mind.
Risk factors are a major part of behavioral problems. A risk factor of behavior problems are behaviors
that are harmful, disruptive, and impulsive. A majority of researchers say that it is unlikely that
playing violent video games will cause a child with no other risk factors to turn into an extremely
violent person(Lee). This being said, violent video games are a common risk factor among adolescents
(Cooper). Personal background, peers, neighborhoods, and genetics are other common risk factors.
Combined, these risk factors can cause violent behavior to occur (Calvert).
Continually being exposed to violent acts will eventually lead to violent behavior. Exposure to
violence will cause some form of violence to develop over time. Unnecessary violence, such as video
games, are causing problems that would otherwise not be an issue. For example, in one study, 161
nine through twelve year old s and 344 college students were randomly assigned to play either a
violent or nonviolent video game throughout a specific amount of time. The participants played a
game against the computer in which they set punishments levels for their opponents. Those who
played the violent games appeared to have harsher punishments than those who played nonviolent
games (Cooper).
Children often imitate the actions of characters from games they play and find it difficult to separate
reality from fantasy. Kids are changing the way they think. Says Dr. Gentile. He explains that long
term exposure to this media can potentially lead to changes in both thinking and behavior. Generally
speaking, when children play these games they really enter into the spirit of things. In many of these
games, one must play as a specific character throughout the game. From beginning to end, the player
is required to make decisions as if he/she was actually that character, facing new challenges and
completing quests with every new section of the game. These games require the player to be an active
participant, allowing them to decide the destiny of their

  • 2. 2016 Primary Election And Presidential Election Essay The 2016 primary election has been the most intriguing in modern history, mainly due to one candidate; Donald J. Trump. Before he won the general election, President elect Donald J. Trump won the Republican primary. Since the day he announced his candidacy by riding down an escalator in Trump Tower, pundits and politicians didn t seriously believe he had a chance. As the debates were held and the primaries went on, it became apparent that he had an actual chance of winning the nomination. The Republican primary showed that there was an anger toward traditional politicians, an anger which Donald Trump tapped into. The rise of Trump also showed that the old rules of what was acceptable to say do not apply any more. These and other factors lead me to the conclusion that the Republican party lost control of the 2016 primary election and failed to choose its eventual nominee. To understand how the GOP failed to select its candidate, we should first understand the circumstances leading up to the 2016 primary. In the 1990 s the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and other free trade deals dealt a blow to US manufacturing. People that worked in manufacturing lost their jobs, in addition to those in the steel and coal industries . These factors affected the area known as the Rust Belt especially hard. In politics, for decades, politicians learned that to get votes, they must act very polished and speak like a politician. Both Democrats and Republicans were generally ... • 3. The Book The Dark Wall The Dark Wall The bell rang and we all squirmed out of Mrs. Clifford s room. Everyone with the same waning, goad. Just before we pressed through the iron guard we all hear a scream. A voice so high pitched it sent a shrill through every one of us and echoed down the pale halls. Right, then we knew we were about to have our ID cards handed to us. We drop them in the thermoset polymer pale with the sound of a marble pendulum. Out we go hands on fire, heads melting and sit under an azure, impalpable extremity. The shade from the tree froze us as it blocked out the sun. The whistle blew and we all strutted along the side of the blacktop. Just as we get to the edge we become a herd of gazelles running from a pack of hungry lions. The first ... What has happened to this world such that we don t even know our neighbors? The following day I go into the garden and gather the mutated zucchini, tomatoes, and chilis. Mom wraps the in a woven and jaded looking basket. Ding Dong, I can hear the doorbell from outside the door of Mrs.Gentry s house and the gentle stomping of feet growing louder yet staying quiet coming to the door. My teacher appears and I present her with the basket of fresh garden produce which is truly organic, as that is what I thought. Only until a few years later I thought that the seeds may come from genetically modified organisms with other chemicals and pesticides and whatnot in them. Black People Interview Report Me: Hello, Mrs.Baker Smith, umm I m here to interview you about being some of the first black people to live on a street called Albanus street, in the Olney neighborhood. Is that okay? Mom: Yup Me: Alright, first question is, how did you feel being one of the only blacks on your street? Mom: Well, initially when I moved on the block I was only 6 years old... maybe 7. I didn t really feel any type of way because as a child, or human being, some things are learned and experienced. I had never really been around a lot of white people, so it wasn t really taught to me that white people didn t necessarily like black people. Simply because they were black. • 10. The Advocacy Of Women s Rights On The Grounds Of... Feminism. The advocacy of women s rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men. Why are some people so angry or offended when they hear this word? Why does the idea of women being equal to men annoy and infuriate them? Do they not believe that women should have the same rights as men? Should women have to cover up to avoid being cat called by disgusting men? Should women have to cover up to avoid being molested or raped? Should women have to stay quiet when they are raped or abused because no one would ever believe them? Should woman be told what to wear, say, or do with their body? I ask myself these questions every day. The question that I ask myself the most is, Why are women of color, gay, and transgender women constantly being disrespected? Woman as a whole get disrespected on a daily basis. We get cat called, get told what to do with our bodies, victim blamed, our bodies are over sexualized, and were viewed as weak and just a piece of meat. Being a woman is already scary enough but being a gay, transgender, or woman of color is the most terrifying experience. Its seems as if the more melanin your skin contains, the more disrespect you receive. Why is that? • 12. Analysis Of Las Cuatro Gibbis Sabias Liz Volpi created her lithography printmaking painting Las Cuatro Gibbis Sabias made with Senefelder black ink on archival paper. The Spanish title means together at last in English. The painting s subject is an animated character named Gibbi repeated four times in four images illustrating three popular actions of the Three Wise Monkeys symbol: see no evil , hear no evil , speak no evil , and the fourth one is the creativity of the artist do no evil . Each action is a rectangle with different gestures of the subject. The artwork was presented in an exhibition at Brookhaven College Gallery (F Building) in November, 2017 and belongs to Liz Volpi under David Newman s instruction. The work is a representation of the gestures of Three Wise Monkeys symbol from Japan as God s advice to see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil and usually come with do no evil . Four parts of the painting are centered on the subject with two thirds in space, so there is a small amount of unused space on the top of each part for the background. Liz Volpi uses only black and white in her work with contrast between the subject and background. The color value changes from rectangle to rectangle. If the Gibbi is painted black, the background is lighter with grey or white and vice versa, which creates contrast and highlights the actions of the subject. The subject in top left and bottom right images is painted in darker value than the background and the subject in bottom left and top right is painted in lighter value than the background. Volpi uses broken thin lines to direct viewers eyes into the character. The broken lines are the skin s type of Gibbi as description of a different kind of species. The repetition of the painting s subject Gibbi provides a sense of unity while the different actions of the subject between the four images offer variety. This variety moves the viewers eye around the painting. In each image, the viewers attention is centered on the various actions of the subject s hands and the gestures of the subject s face to express the meaning of each phrase written on the top of each rectangle. The first image on top left represents speak no evil with Gibbi s hands covering her mouth. See no evil ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The matching of the two or the possibility of a couple is built before the sonnet even begins. In the title, Twain , the old word for two is utilized, creating the possibility of a matching, with the most evident combine being the ship and the iceberg. From the 6th stanza onwards, Hardy s lexis recommends that the union of the two powers was fated, an unavoidable occasion planned by some covered up, wild power which is shown in phrases like The Immanent Will (VI, 18) and the Spinner of Years (XI, 31). Despite the fact that these expressions are utilized as a part of his books to signify the powers that work in human life, in the ballad the implicit power Hardy proposes might be nature; the matching of human innovation and nature can be seen unmistakably in the sonnet with all the new advancements of people set against the greater power of nature. Theroux continues by describing society s idea of manliness as destructive. Decisions define us, and they reveal to the world our values, motivations, and desires. As renowned author J.K Rowling once wrote, It is our choices... that show what we truly are (Rowling 333). This concept is one that can be readily observed in history, literature, and society and it is especially prevalent in Steinbeck s novella, Of Mice and Men. The decisions that individuals make in both fiction and the real world, can reveal characteristics of themselves that even they do not know. In Of Mice and Men, the first defining decision that reveals a character s personality is Candy s decision to forego shooting his dog. In the story, Candy is forced to make a difficult choice: to either kill his old, seemingly useless dog himself, or to let someone else do it. Ultimately, Candy succumbs to pressure from his fellow ranchers and he reluctantly lets someone else kill his beloved companion. When this impetuous decision is dissected, Candy s demeanor, values, and varying characteristics are revealed. Initially, when the idea of killing Candy s dog is brought up by Carlson, Candy immediately dismisses it saying, You ain t got no gun... [m]aybe tomorra (Steinbeck 47). However, when this idea is suggested just one more time, Candy agrees. This entire interaction shows that Candy is extremely compliant and acquiescent in his demeanor. He shies away from conflict and he will quickly change his own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Comparing The Song Of Creation And The Babylonian Creation... Creation Myth Paper In this creation myth paper, one can will be comparing The Song of Creation from the Rig Veda on page 15 in Fiero s The Humanistic Tradition, Book 1, with The Babylonian Creation myth on page 19 to 20 in Fiero s The Humanistic Tradition, Book 1. The Song of Creation from the Rig Veda on page 15 originates from India. Meanwhile The Babylonian Creation myth on page 19 to 20 originated from Babylon. The main differences between these two creation myths is that the first creation myth is based on the importance of water as the necessary requirement for the beginning of life. For example, in the Rig Veda, the creation of the world was stated to come from a watery darkness (Fiero 15). Meanwhile the second myth is more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The primary source narrates about how back then before the universe was created, there was no existence, no death or immortality (Fiero 15). It also raises questions about the creation of the universe such as What covered it? Where was it? In whose keeping? (Fiero 15). These shows the uncertainty of how the universe came to be. Meanwhile in The Babylonian Creation myth, it narrates or tells the story about not only how the universe was created, but also how the gods entered the world, how the earth came to be, as well as the creation of Babylon and humans (Fiero 19). In the first myth, the universe was created when That One which came to be enclosed in nothing, arose at last, born of the power of heat (Fiero 15). In my opinion, one canthink that back in the time, the people who created this myth believed in a geocentric view of the universe where Earth was in the center. And that that One came to be the sun which gave light to the world and allowed the prospering of plants and life. Some imagery found in this primary source were darkness wrapped in darkness , only illumined water cosmic waters, in depths unfathomed, (Fiero 15). These forms of imagery depicts or describes what the universe was like before the that One arose. The order of creation in this myth seems to be that of the One being in the empty universe before anything else and then when that One arose, he or she brought heat as well as light in the world which most likely led to the beginning of light in the world leading to life. In this creation myth, one can feel like the One is the universe or the creation because according to lines 23, it states The gods themselves are later than creation (Fiero 15). So one can feel like the universe created the gods not the other way around. In the text, life began with the arrival ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Mechanical Response And Failure Behavior Of A Defective... Molecular Simulations on the Mechanical Response and Failure Behavior of a Defective Graphene: Cases of Stone Thrower Wales (5 7 7 5) defects G. Rajasekaran Rajesh Kumar and Avinash Parashar Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee 247667, India ABSTRACT Structural defects which are inevitable during the production, chemical and heat treatment processes can affect the mechanical properties of graphene and also defects can be deliberately introduced in graphene by ion beam irradiation to get required properties for specific applications. So, understanding the effect of defects on mechanical properties and failure behaviours of a graphene sheet is important for its applications. In this work, the effects of linear and angular orientation of different types of Stone Thrower Wales (STW 1 and STW 2) defects on the mechanical properties and failure behaviour of graphene membrane have been investigated in the frame of molecular dynamics. This work discussing about tuneable mechanical properties by amending the linear orientation of STW 1 and STW 2 defects at different angles in zigzag direction and armchair direction respectively. The results obtained from the present work may provide the insights in tailoring the mechanical properties by preparing defects in graphene, and give a full picture for the applications of graphene with defects in flexible electronics and nanodevices. • 36. Observation Of Ivor Dent School For my observation, I went and visited Ivor Dent school, Ivor Dent is the new school that has opened near Abbottsfield, Edmonton. The school was named after a man named Ivor Dent, he is most well known for opening the LRT system, however he was also the principal of Rundle School in 1980. This is important to note, since Ivor Dent opened three other schools in the neighbourhood were closed, Rundle elementary school, Lawton elementary and R.J. Scott Junior high. Due to the mix of the three schools Ivor Dent welcomes kids from kindergarten all the way to grade nine, this year they have had 423 students enroll. This school has been built in a low income community and is labelled as an inner city school. To meet the extraordinary needs of all their students Ivor dent offers regular classroom programs, behavioral and learning assistance program and full day kindergarten. Ivor Dent is based on the four corner stones that all Edmonton public schools follow: equity, accountability, collaboration, and integrity. While at Ivor Dent I visited with Amber Casali, she is one of the full day kindergarten teachers. She shared with me some of the new challenges she is facing being in a new school. Amber is used to being the only kindergarten teacher in the school, she is used to having two washrooms for her students, and an entire room for storage and extra activity room. In this new school, the two kindergarten classes share one toilet, they have one small storage room and there is no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Essay on Marketing Corona in Japan Case Analysis Questions MKT 523 Marketing Corona in Japan Marian Stefan Tiffin University Case Analysis Questions MKT 523 Marketing Corona in Japan 1. How aligned are Modelo s, EBI s and NS s short and long term interests ? In recent times, the market changes affected the short and long term interest of Modelo, Export Brands International and Nippon Spirits. It was clear that the big picture was extremely difficult to see from the same united perspective as in the past, thus making the Japanese Corona business quite uncertain. Corona had a success of almost one decade in the Japanese market also due to the clear and structured partnership between Modelo, Export Brands International and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Let s say that the situation will continue like it is now, none of the 2 mentioned dangers happening, other thing can become a real pain for Export Brands International: I am referring here at the fact that consumers are increasingly shifting away from mass produced beers towards high quality, classier, and locally produced craft micro brews. Or the fact that Japanese consumers will be tempted to buy affordable domestic brands due to the economic downturn. As because Corona is the top seller in the Export Brands International portfolio, their revenues and profitability will be seriously affected. Not to say the fact that right now, Corona is not the only Mexican beer present in the Japanese market, now being under direct attack by a series of other Mexican beer that have high marketing budgets. To maintain the position, Export Brands International is forced to pump heavily in the investment marketing budget , much more than the others as Corona must change and reinvent itself. Export Brands International must come with something new trying once again to differentiate as in the beginnings, now being a lot harder. The situation can even explode for Export Brands International, as large beers conglomerates with tremendous power, are targeting the same segment and are creating similar beers. We have the real example of Anheuser Busch new Bud Light Lime which was selling extremely well in the United States attacking Corona position and following the traces of the ... • 38. Do Violent Video Games Cause Violent Behavior Essay Do violent video games cause behavioral problems? For years this topic has been highly debated amongst parents and the players. Violent video games do cause behavioral problems because they alter a gamers mind. Risk factors are a major part of behavioral problems. A risk factor of behavior problems are behaviors that are harmful, disruptive, and impulsive. A majority of researchers say that it is unlikely that playing violent video games will cause a child with no other risk factors to turn into an extremely violent person(Lee). This being said, violent video games are a common risk factor among adolescents (Cooper). Personal background, peers, neighborhoods, and genetics are other common risk factors. Combined, these risk factors can cause violent behavior to occur (Calvert). Continually being exposed to violent acts will eventually lead to violent behavior. Exposure to violence will cause some form of violence to develop over time. Unnecessary violence, such as video games, are causing problems that would otherwise not be an issue. For example, in one study, 161 nine through twelve year old s and 344 college students were randomly assigned to play either a violent or nonviolent video game throughout a specific amount of time. The participants played a game against the computer in which they set punishments levels for their opponents. Those who played the violent games appeared to have harsher punishments than those who played nonviolent games (Cooper). Children often imitate the actions of characters from games they play and find it difficult to separate reality from fantasy. Kids are changing the way they think. Says Dr. Gentile. He explains that long term exposure to this media can potentially lead to changes in both thinking and behavior. Generally speaking, when children play these games they really enter into the spirit of things. In many of these games, one must play as a specific character throughout the game. From beginning to end, the player is required to make decisions as if he/she was actually that character, facing new challenges and completing quests with every new section of the game. These games require the player to be an active participant, allowing them to decide the destiny of their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
