WORK EXPERIENCE
Shop Assistant
Premier Stores - Cardiff - January 2016 to Present
Responsibilities
Unloading of deliveries and stocking of shelves as and when the goods arrive. Solely responsible of
restocking alcohol, soft drinks and spirit isles. Maintaining and rotating of stock in the warehouse and
keeping it clean and tidy to health and safety standards. Assist customers and members of staff to locate
items they require. Twice weekly visits to cash n carry with store owner to collect stock. Responsible for the
security of the store. Stock taking.
Accomplishments
I accomplish keeping the shelves stocked every day so the customers have a wide choice of items. Rotating all
good so they don't expire. Keeping the store and the warehouse clear of any rubbish and boxes so no accident
occur with myself or other staff. Security of stock. Works well as part of a team as well as on my own.
Skills Used
Mathematical skills, have to count stock multiple times a day for stock taking. Has to be fit, healthy and
strong, as I load, unload and carry heavy items every day.
Volunteer Sales Assistant
British Heart Foundation - Dudley - May 2015 to January 2016
Responsibilities
Served customers and help them to look for furniture for their needs, mostly were elderly and needed help to
reach and carry their items. I lifted and carried furniture that was donated to the charity to the stock room
and got it prepared,cleaned and priced ready for selling. I worked on Till taking money for purchase.
Accomplishments
I met a lot of really great people while working the charity, a lot of the elderly people used to like to talk so i
learned to be a good listener it was a incredibly rewarding job.
Skills Used
They used an old till system so I had to calculate the money and change myself, using simple maths. I also
used my customer service skills, making sure the customer felt important and had my full attention.
Volunteer
Cancer Research UK - Cardiff - August 2014 to April 2015
Responsibilities
Tagging clothes, Merchandising, cash handling, greeting and helping customers, hanging clothing, pricing
clothes and steaming.
Accomplishments
I have learnt a lot about retail and I have picked up the skills and confidence helping and talking to customers.
2. Skills Used
Listening and completing tasks to a high standard. Customer service skills used in previous job to approach
customers and ask if they need any service.
Floor Staff / Fabric Department / Work Experience with iTec
Dunelm - Cardiff - November 2014 to January 2015
Responsibilities
Greeting customers, helping them decide the type of fabrics they would like to purchase, picking the best
options we had to offer. Writing down any fabrics we needed to order. Cutting the fabric that the customer
needed and making sure they get the exact measurement they wanted.
Accomplishments
As well as the shop floor, I briefly worked in the warehouse just to monitor my advisor and I learned a lot about
what happens in the warehouse with deliveries and how they manage all their stock and different kinds of areas
they have for old and new collections,and what they did with customer store and online orders.
Skills Used
Mathematical skills were needed for this job to get correct measurements for customer orders.Had to learn
to have patients and steady hands when cutting material.Team work was essential as this was a large store.
Floor Staff / Work Experience
Co-operative Group Limited - Cardiff - October 2014 to December 2014
Responsibilities
Most days I would be stock taking and making sure the stock was rotated and getting to the shelves, making
sure none of the shelves were empty and we didn't have any missing stock or misplaced labels.
I was also worked the tills to serve customers and greet them with a friendly manner making sure they were
comfortable and satisfied with their customer service.
Accomplishments
This was the first time I worked within grocery and I liked picking up new skills for the different type of
customer service that I haven't learned before. I also learned about incoming stock and how to know how to
monitor and rotate the stock.
When i worked on tills I had never worked with the newer type of system before so I got to observe and train
on them.
Skills Used
I have really good customer service skills making sure the customer felt important and that they have my full
attention if and when they needed help.
I also showed my creative skills by showing co-workers efficient ways to use the space in storage area and
on the store floor by stocking items differently and more tidily using the very little space we had.

New Directions Education - Cardiff - April 2013 to April 2013
As Part of my college course I worked in an office for a company called New Directions Education, they supplied
teaching staff, social workers and care workers. My job was to file documents, photocopy, take phone calls and I
also worked with a system called Adapt, which is an application which is used to sort police checks, references and
CV’s and put them into different categories to see if they were ready for auditing.
While I was there I attended equality and diversity training.
