This document discusses different types of camera movements and shots used in video production. It describes a tracking shot that slowly zooms in on a man talking to focus attention on him. It also explains a mid-shot that captures a person from just above the knees to see the full body. Additionally, it analyzes a scene from "The Sopranos" with a side-tracking or crab shot that follows actors as they move around in a mid-shot that shows their shoulders.

1. Camera Movements

2. This is a tracking in shot. As the man is standing there talking to someone opposite him, the camera is slowly zooming in towards him, giving all the focus of the audience on him. It is a medium , meaning it is taken just above his knees. If a shot is taken below a persons knees, it doesn’t look right, so the camera usually captures either just above the persons knees or so they can see the whole body. The video clip I watched to do my analysis on any important/significant camera movements was a short clip on the American TV drama called ‘The Sopranos’. This shot is a side tracking shot (also known as a crab shot ). It is following the actors round as they move watching where they go. It is a mid shot , meaning its close up but can still see the persons shoulders.

3. This is also a mid-shot , because you can see her shoulders, and it is level with her eyes. This is a side panning shot as the camera was stable but was moving towards the left. The angle is level but slightly higher than the last one.
