It is almost impossible to find equipment or appliances using electrical current without having electrical connectors or electrical cables. Electrical cables and connectors Electrical cables are types of equipment that are widely used in electronic devices and appliances for both power or signal circuits. Electrical connectors on the other hand are electro- mechanical devices used to connect various electric circuits as interactive interfaces by use of mechanical assembly. Electric connectors usually comprise of two main parts namely plugs and jacks. Jacks are considered to be feminine while plugs are masculine due to the functions they perform. Connector devices are used in temporal and permanent connections. Adapters can be used in systems that require connections of totally different connectors. Factors like contact resistance, pinout, size, physical construction, between pin insulation, ruggedness and vibration resistance should be considered before purchasing connectors. Power supply cables and connectors These are electrical devices used to supply electrical energy to specific identified loads in electric based systems. In order for power supply cable and connector connections to be complete there needs to be power inputs used to receive energy from electrical current sources and power outputs that are used to deliver the converted electric energy. Fibre optic cables and connectors Fibre optic cables are types of technological cables that use flexible transparent fibre made from glass or silica to transmit data from one point to another. These types of cables and connectors are highly referred as compared to metal ones as they have lower loss of data and are immune to electromagnetic interference.
