This document provides a report on a charity drive event organized by a group of students. The group decided to sell roses and soft-serve ice cream, with all profits being donated to the Paws Animal Welfare Society. They secured sponsorship from a soft-serve ice cream company for ingredients and equipment rental. Roses were sourced from a local florist. The group aimed to raise over RM3500 through selling roses at RM10 each and ice cream for RM8 on average. They analyzed competition from other student groups and established a target of selling 200 roses and 500 ice cream cups. Packaging and promotions were developed. Profits of RM3579 were ultimately raised and donated to the charity.

This is a basic marketing strategy I created when I first started working fo rthis advertising firm. They did not have a loft of direction with regards to how to determine their goals for the marketing department mainly because they had not established their marketing strategy. So my first job as Marketing Coordinator was to map out exactly who their target market was and how we were going to grab their attention and based on those ideas we would be able to create realistic goals to rate the department.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

A. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The final projectofIntroduction to Business is giving studenta chance to run a business .And,
through the process, students can gain the practical experiences that cannot learned from the
book .For the lastpurpose, all the profit that the students earned will donate to charitable organization
of their choice.
After discussing , our group decided to sell roses and dessert. We doing a lotofresearch aboutthe
popular dessert currently. Our target not just uni student but also outside comer ofthe campus . After
that , we found Softsrve Ice-cream. It is drawing another ice-cream fever across the town
after Milkcow and Inside Scoop. They were intrested and willing to partnership with us after we gave
them a call . We were having a discussion with one the shareholder ofthe business, which is Mr.Jack
by visiting his shop that located at Kota Damansara. The result is Soft-serve will sponsor all the things
that needed to make their ice-cream and covered our expanses for the ice-cream. Butwe need to find
an ice-cream machine by ourselves because they were outofmachine and after our ice-cream profitis
reaching the target , all the extra money will return to them .This problem was solve after we found
Mr.Phillip who can rent us the machine . Not just the machine, he also rent us a kiosk to place machine.
For the roses , we also found a florist which can provide us with low price roses and packaging material.
All the profit we earn will be given to Paws Animal Welfare Society. A society look after stray cats and
dogs and to re-home them. We choose this society is because Paws need to raise funds for the
eventual relocation and rebuilding ofthe shelter at the new land.
Before the days charity drive, we were pre-selling the roses aboutseven days as the backup plan if
we do not reach our target. We selling roses within campus. While the days ofcharity drive , we setup
our Softsrve Ice-cream booth opposite to the StudentLife Central (SLC) .
The total profit is RM3579.00 and donated to Paw Animal Welfare Society .

B. OBJECTION
The main reason we choose Paws Animal Welfare Society ( PAWS ) is because we love animals.
Secondly , Paws animal shelter is having a land ownership problem and overcrowded issue as well as
financial problem. They don’thave any extra income , all their expenses depends entirely on the
generosity ofthe public through donations or proceeds from charitable events organised and run by
some volunteers. Hence , we decided to help outby giving them all the profits that we had earn during
the charity drive week. The minor reason is because Paws is very near to Taylor’s Univeristy. It’s just
less than 15 minutes of ride from campus to Paws.
We aim to raise a fund of more than RM3500 during the charity drive week and donate the 100% of
profit to Paws Animal Welfare Society by selling our products instead ofRM2500. This is because we
are quite confidentofour products and we had partnership with our sponsor which is Softsrve Ice
Cream. We sell roses in packaging and Softsrve ice cream. One stalk ofrose is RM10 and Softsrve ice
cream is RM8 in average price. The sales unit we targeted for rose is 40 stalks a day and total of
200stalks of roses for a week before the presale. While for the Softsrve ice cream , we targeted 100
cups ofice cream per day and total of 500 cups during the charity week.

C. TARGET MARKET :
1. University student
University students are our main target . Students are occupy the mostpercentage ofour
income . First, roses are specific to couples. And some ofthe students will purchasing as a gift
for their lecturer. Secondly , ice-cream is a suitable snacks between meals especially after
lunch. The price ofour productis affordable for Taylors’ student . They will buy it as long as
they like it.
2. Outside comers and relatives
Ice-cream is a popular snacks between meals especially after lunch . No matter which age, itis
suitable for everyone. Beside, outsiders , especially a family with kids, they will more likely to
purchase it . For roses, outsider will more likely to purchase itrather than student, because
they have fixed income.

D. COMPETITION ANALYSIS
Our two main competitors are Ben’s group and 4Genies’ group .
1. 4GENIES’ GROUP
This group is selling doughnuts , fresh fruit juice and milk shake . Their booth is located atthe no.18
which is infront of the stair case .
Advantage :
As their booth located infrontof the staircase, the customer will approach their booth while going down
stairs. This give them a chance to persuade customers to buy their products. Beside, the doughnuts
they are selling are from famous company which is “Big Apple”. Next, they are selling variety of product.
Weakness :
The prices oftheir productis quite high due to their cost. Beside, they started to sell their productat late
afternoon. A lot oftheir income relied on donation.
The distance between our booth and theirs are far . Thus, there was only slightly affected our sales.
Beside, the selling point(smoking effect) ofour ice-cream is able us to attract more customers
purchase our product.
7. 6
2. BEN’S GROUP
This group is also pre-selling their flowers before the charity drive.
Advantages:
They are selling the flowers on celebration date (Mothers’s day) . Thus, the purchasing rate of
consumers are higher than us .
Weakness:
They only selling carnation flower one day before mother’s day due to the carnation flowers is only
suitable for the specific celebration date. Besides, their price is higher than ours.
Our group were selling roses.Roses are a suitable choice as a gift for various kind ofsituation and
person. Beside,we were selling on differentdate. Thus, it only have a slightly affect of our customers

Rose
Cost Price: RM1.40 per unit
Selling Price: RM10.00 per unit
The selling price 7.14 times ofthe costprice, it’s a very good profitwhen sold.
Not many customers would like to buy the roses because flowers will wilt easily. Mostof the customers
boughtthe flower are because they want to donate to charity.
The price of one rose is set at RM10, as no change is required in most money transaction processes
between the buyer and seller. This makes the process ofselling and receiving money smoother.

L. EVALUATION RESULT
In this charity drive event, we successfully earn the net profit ofRM3579 and donate to Paws Animal
Welfare Society. The pie chart representmostofthe profit comes from the sponsorship.
At the end ofthe assignment, we found out that selling roses is very profitable as our costis about
RM1.30 and we sell itat the price ofRM10. The choice ofselling roses is smartbutit would be smarter
if we sell itat the right time for example like Valentine’s day. Atthe first day which is the day we test out
our marketin the campus , the response is quite overwhelming as we sold outall 39 roses in 2 hours
time. It was surprisingly response from our customers. Butwhen it goes to the second day , itis harder
for us to sell the roses as the customers is almostsame and we usually walk around at the campus
during the break time. Then . it was getting harder for the following days. Atthe 5th day , we could’nt
even reach 20 roses for selling duration ofwhole day. We realized that we have limited customers that
would buy our roses. So , the decision ofselling roses is smartonly at the beginning.
While for the Softsrve ice cream, definitely we were on the right way. During the charity drive , we had
a really overwhelming response from our customer. For every single day ofthe charity drive , we sold
out at 2 or 3 hours time after we operate our business. We sold out80 to 90 cups ofice cream per day.
Although we can earn a lotof money by selling popular products , butwe need to work under Softsrve
and as their temporary staff . Unlike other group, they are selling their own products so the they are the
boss. The nextproblem we faced is the ice cream machine. The machine is very troublesome and had
work not that well which is out from our expectation. The machine is expensive , so we need to take
care of the safety of machine , it is also heavy which is 150kg , we need to think ofhow to move it
around . Lastly , we need to bring the machine from Hi Tech electrical engineering and marketing sdn
bhd from Balakong. Lastly , the electric ofcampus in front ofthe Student Life Centre is quite low as a
lot ofpeople sharing the electric. So our customers have to wait for long time to geta cup ofice cream.

At the end ofthe charity drive week, we had a small issue which was Softsrve did notwant to give the
salary ofRM600 as we agreed earlier. Futher more , they did notwant to responsible for the ice cream
machine’s technician’s handling fee(RM100). If they were responsible , we could reach RM4500 in the
very end ofassignment.
Although we exceed the targetRM2500 for this assignment, we found out there’s still a lotmore
spaces ofimprovement. However , ifwe were given a chance to repeatthe event, we would still sell a
branded productbutwith a so troublesome equipment. For example Magnum ice cream and Baskin
Robbin ice cream . Those 2 ice cream are hard ice cream and would just need a freezer to store them.
We don’thave to worry aboutthe safety , movementang electrical supply of softice cream machine.
