BSNL was founded on 1st oct. 2000.
Before the foundation of BSNL all the
telecom related work was handled by
Department of Telecommunication (DOT.)
It is providing the services in all over India
Except Delhi & Mumbai.
4. TELECOM STRUCTURE
India is divided into 22 telecom
circles.
Each circle is further divided into
divisions.
Each circle is controlled by CGMT .
7. GSM
It is a Second Generation (2G)
mobile phone system.
It uses both FDMA & TDMA
technique.
2G GSM networks operate in 900
MHz or 1800 MHz bands.
9. GPRS
General packet radio service (GPRS)
is a packet oriented mobile data service
for 2G cellular communication system.
it provides data rate of 54-114 Kbps.
It provides the services like Internet
access & MMS.
10. 3G
It is 3rd generation network to provide
the high data speed.
3G system consist of two main
standards,CDMA2000 & W-CDMA.
It provides minimum data rate of
2 Mbps for stationary or walking users
and 384 Kbps for moving vehicle.
11. INTERNET
Internet is a group of various co-
operating computers ,inter connected
worldwide by computer based on
TCP/IP communication protocols.
12. OSI NETWORKING MODEL
The open system interconnection
model defines all the methods and
protocols needed to connect one
computer to any other over a
network.
It consist of seven layers.
