The document discusses different types of creative production briefs:
1. Contractual briefs are formal legal agreements between clients and employees that specify duties, payment terms, and insurance requirements.
2. Negotiated briefs involve compromise between clients and creators as they develop a shared vision for the final product.
3. Formal briefs provide precise details about goals but allow for some negotiation, while informal briefs are more relaxed discussions.
4. Commission briefs involve a large company hiring an independent producer to create a product, tender briefs evaluate new creators, and competition briefs have multiple entrants pitching ideas to a client.
Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

Putting the SPARK into Virtual Training.pptxCynthia Clay
This 60-minute webinar, sponsored by Adobe, was delivered for the Training Mag Network. It explored the five elements of SPARK: Storytelling, Purpose, Action, Relationships, and Kudos. Knowing how to tell a well-structured story is key to building long-term memory. Stating a clear purpose that doesn't take away from the discovery learning process is critical. Ensuring that people move from theory to practical application is imperative. Creating strong social learning is the key to commitment and engagement. Validating and affirming participants' comments is the way to create a positive learning environment.

Unveiling the Secrets How Does Generative AI Work.pdfSam H
At its core, generative artificial intelligence relies on the concept of generative models, which serve as engines that churn out entirely new data resembling their training data. It is like a sculptor who has studied so many forms found in nature and then uses this knowledge to create sculptures from his imagination that have never been seen before anywhere else. If taken to cyberspace, gans work almost the same way.
1. Jack Dixon Different Types Of Creative Production Brief
Contractual Brief
“A contract brief is between the client and employees. The contractual brief explains the duties required and how the
company's schemes its work. The contractual brief explains how the much employee will receive. The contractual brief
includes areas such as what the employee is agreeing before signing it. A contractual brief must also include the general
liability insurance. It is a legal contract between advertising companies and its client which describes the duties required as
well as the price and payments terms.” http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_a_contractual_brief
A contractual brief includes a lot of legal information and will be well prepared. The brief will be very factual and include
all relevant information such as money and deadlines. There is little room for negotiation from the employee. If I were
given this type of brief for a client, I could be asked to design a company logo. This type of brief would help my
communication skills as I would have to listen/read carefully to ensure that I understand and agree with the information
being given. Contractual briefs are formal so I would have to meet the deadlines set which would help my time
management. To design a logo I would have to use lots of illustrating software such as Photoshop; this would help me
progress my technical skills. If I was to do all of these things correctly and produce the final product to a high standard,
the company may refer me to others which will help me to make career progress.
Negotiated Brief
“This is when two parties have different ideas from each other but they both have to come to a decision by compromising
and making sure that both the parties are happy by the decision.”
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_a_negotiated_brief
A negotiated brief is much more relaxed than a contractual, both the client and creator come together with ideas in
order to create the finished product. Lots of ideas are often compromised from either side but both must be satisfied
with the final idea. In this type of brief I could be asked to plan and create a music video. Due to the relaxed nature of
this style of brief my communication skills would be improved as it involves lots of discussion between the company and
the client. I could be asked to attend meetings so I would have to arrive on time, this would help me with my time
management. Technical skills that I could improve include would be using movie making software such as Adobe
premiere. As this is a more discussion based brief I could stay in contact with the company and be asked to do other
productions in the future.
Formal Brief
“A formal written document containing specific and precise details about the goals that needs to be achieved. The brief
gets straight to the point and doesn't contain any unnecessary detail or information. This type of brief is mainly aimed at a
group of people or a business company rather than individuals. A formal brief is not always a legal document.”
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_a_formal_brief
A formal brief will be well planned and include lots of facts and fixtures, some negotiating will take place but the client
will usually have an idea that they want to stick too. In a formal brief I could be asked to create a stop smoking leaflet
for the NHS. As the NHS is such a large company I would want to get everything perfectly how they want it , so this
would involve lots of communication. Like the contractual brief it would be very important to meet deadlines to help my
time management. For this type of project I would progress my technical skills using Photoshop or other similar
software. Having worked with the NHS many people would see your work and other employers may contact you.
Informal Brief
“Informal briefs are quite open and basically done face to face so through a meeting. The best advantage of doing an
informal brief is that it makes people feel a lot more relaxed in the particular environment that people are in… Although
informal briefs do have a disadvantage and this is that they are usually seen as unprofessional and unclear.”
http://www.slideshare.net/leeanne123/brief-14633707
Opposite to formal; an informal brief would include a lot of talking in order to create the final idea. The client and
creator will discuss each other’s ideas and thoughts; this means the final project will be arranged and planned equally
between the 2. In an informal brief I could be asked to design and create a TV sting. An informal briefing would consist
of lots of friendly but professional discussion meaning I will greatly improve communication skills during this brief.
2. Jack Dixon Different Types Of Creative Production Brief
Although this style of brief is a lot more relaxed it is still important to meet deadlines and arrive on time for meetings;
the consequences of being late may not be as bad as that of a formal briefing. To create a sting I would need to use
adobe after effects which would improve my technical skills. Stings are shown on TV so any employer could see the
product and contact you with an offer of work.
Commission Brief
“This is when a TV broadcaster, such as the BBC, employs an independent production company to produce a program for
their schedule.” http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_a_commission_brief
A commission brief is when a large company employs a smaller independent company to produce a product to be shown
on the channel. For this type of brief I could be asked to produce a 1 hour radio show for the BBC. For this type of brief I
would have to communicate well with the broadcaster to ensure that I have all the correct details about what they want
from my show. Being the smaller company it is important to meet all deadlines as the larger company can easily replace
you if you have poor time management. I would progress in the use of radio equipment such as portable radio
production suite, mixers and microphones, I would also use software such as Reaper to produce radio jingles for my
show. BBC is a large company with many different radio stations to suit many audiences so it would be possible to do
more shows for them if it went well.
Cooperative Brief
“A cooperative brief is where you are working with someone else, therefor if you are working with somebody else and not
just you then you are cooperating. When you are a long side somebody else then this is when you will both discuss the
brief together having your own thoughts and opinions and then delivering them to each other in order to put them in to
the brief.” http://www.slideshare.net/leeanne123/brief-14633707
In a cooperative brief, 2 creators will come together in order to make the final product. Bothe sides will generate ideas
and together decide on the finished piece. Cooperative briefs are usually held in a location where both creators can
meet to discuss ideas. For a cooperative brief we could be asked to design a billboard advertisement for Dr Pepper. As I
would be working with another person for the whole project it is important to be polite but also be confident in
expressing my opinion of my partner’s ideas. Time management is very important in this type of project as you must
plan meetings etc. when both of you are available. The person you work with could enjoy working with you and involve
you in future projects.
Tender Brief
“Tender brief: This is the type of brief you would receive if you are new to the company and where you would develop your
ideas amongst others and from there the company would decide if you should be the client. The advantages are that it is
very relaxed and easy however the disadvantages are that you may not be chosen as the final client.”
http://sophiehunit5workingwithabrief.blogspot.co.uk/2011/09/contractual-formal-negotiated-informal.html
A tender brief is the type of brief where a new company would be chosen to give ideas on a product and then the client
from the company will decide whether or not you should be the creator for the particular product. For a tender brief I
may be asked to generate a plan and idea for a TV series pilot. In this type of brief it is important to set a good example
by being polite and well-spoken as you are trying to get the company to choose your idea. I would be sure to arrive on
time if not early in order to impress the company this would make me seem very organized. To plan the TV pilot I
wouldn’t need professional software to create a storyboard, as it could be done very easily on Microsoft word or
another similar software package. If my idea was chosen I would be able to progress my career by possibly planning
more of the shows in the series.
Competition Brief
“This type of brief is given to you when participating in competitions, it allows the clients to understand what they must do
to enter and complete the competition, and this brief is different to other briefs as it is more intense with the audience.
This brief is usually used for companies that are promoting competitions; the brief is given out to clients so they can
3. Jack Dixon Different Types Of Creative Production Brief
understand what they are to do. When creating the brief the client must consider the scope of work, medium required,
size of purchase (how many competition details are needed), target group and how to attract them, time framed,
quantities and siting.” http://sophiehunit5workingwithabrief.blogspot.co.uk/2012/01/competition-brief.html
A competition brief is hosted by a client, numerous producers will listen to what is needed in the product and each
creates an idea to pitch to the client. A competition brief can range from a small school to worldwide. In a completion
brief I could be asked to design and create a television advertisement for Nitro Circus live. For a brief like this I would
have to make a good impression on the company; similar to a tender brief. It is very important to manage your time well
by meeting deadlines as there are other people competing with you so you must be the best of them. To create a TV
advert I would use advanced software such as adobe premiere and after effects which would make my technical skills
improve greatly. As nitro circus is an on-going event I could possibly be asked to make adverts for future series.
