Removal of cash payments at LOCLBus Ltd.
Overview
LOCLBus Ltd are a bus operator in the East of England, in the UK. With a fleet size of 60 vehicles, ranging from large minibuses to 60 seater vehicles, they are a well known independent operator in the region, second only to the main contractor, First Group who operate the main local authority contracts in the region.
In response to demand from customers and the local authorities who contract LOCLBus to operate key services on their behalf, the management team have decided at a recent board meeting to stop accepting cash payments on all services where customers pay the driver (so not, for instance on school services) and replace cash with card payments and, they hope an App for mobile devices. The board realise this is a huge change for them, as since their inauguration in 1972, the only way they have accepted payment is via cash and it totals £2.7m per year, around 40% of their revenue (the rest being from local authority payments and other commercial contracts).
You have been recruited, due to your experience in commercial vehicles, to project manage this process, from fact finding to roll out of the
first phase
(card payments on vehicles) to the
full roll out
which will cover Contactless card, Apple Pay and Android payments and their App which will allow customers to buy virtual tickets in advance. The current status is that the project has been discussed, and you have some guidance documents from the board, but nothing has been started yet. You are expected to plan the complete process, and write a discussion report which will go to the board in the form of a 2500 written report and supporting documents outlining the key steps in the project.

You admit to feeling a little overwhelmed by the new job, but with the tools and techniques you have learnt and guidance from best practice, you think ‘if they sent man to the moon’ you can do anything...
Further information and tips to help you complete and create your project plan:
LOCLBus plan to buy the equipment, that includes card reader, control system and web based storage and part of the project which will be to source a suitable supplier who will partly define the roll out based on their timelines and experience.

LOCLBus require their own custom mobile app to be developed, this will be branded with the company image and provide fee-free transfer (to the customer) via the different payment methods. They require a plan to be defined, to understand timings and cost for the mobile app development.

The document discusses adopting a "collaborative approach" rather than a "customer-controlled approach" when an implementer company works with a customer company on a software project. It suggests that the implementer should regularly provide input and disagree with the customer to improve the product, rather than just agreeing with the customer. It provides techniques for the implementer to do this respectfully at different project phases, from bidding to initiation to execution, such as presenting alternative solutions, analyzing impacts of changes, and having open discussions. The goal is for the two companies to work as peers to deliver the best product outcome.
1. The document outlines 10 key learnings from implementing SuperStream rollovers and contributions projects for superannuation clients.
2. It recommends clearly defining the project scope, automating processes for efficiency, comprehensively mapping data fields, and engaging all stakeholders early.
3. Thorough documentation, testing, and employer engagement are also emphasized to help projects run smoothly and meet reporting needs.

This document contains a project plan for Marriott's bedding program from 2016. The plan outlines upgrading bedding across 628,000 beds in 2,400 Marriott locations in 68 countries. Key objectives were to improve quality, maintain standards globally, and enhance the guest experience. A $190 million budget was allocated across various costs including materials, training, distribution and implementation. Potential limitations included coordinating a global team and estimating large order volumes. The plan aimed to meet expectations of involving all Marriott hotels and receiving high quality supplies on time.
The document defines and provides examples of various audio production terms and effects, including reverb, echo, panning, cross fading, pitch bend, looping, reversing, and the Doppler effect. Reverb adds ambience to make a track sound like it is in a room, echo repeats a sound softly, and panning moves a sound between stereo channels. Cross fading and fading are used to transition smoothly between tracks or the beginning and end of a track. Pitch bend varies the pitch of a sound continuously, and reversing plays a track backwards. Looping repeats a track, while the Doppler effect describes the change in frequency of a sound source as it moves toward or away from a listener.
The document defines and provides examples of several audio effects terms: reverb, which is the persistence of sound in a space after the original sound is removed like an echo; distortion, which is the alteration of the original sound characteristics like used by punk bands; effects pedals, which allow musicians to modify their instrument sound like in the Foo Fighters track "Generator"; pitch bend, a synthesizer control to vary pitch continuously; and delay, which records an input signal and plays it back after a period of time.

Elliot provides a detailed yet spoiler-free review of the critically acclaimed video game Bioshock Infinite. While his audio quality could use improvement, he thoroughly analyzes different aspects of the game's storyline, characters, and gameplay. The review gives viewers a good understanding of Bioshock Infinite without revealing too much, helping them decide whether to purchase the game. Though new to reviewing, Elliot demonstrates strong analytical skills and his review provides a useful overview for those interested in Bioshock Infinite.
The document proposes a video game review of Bioshock: Infinite for Vibe Productions. The reviewer will create a 10-15 minute review detailing the game's characters, storyline, weapons, combat, settings and more. Footage will be recorded using screen recording software and edited down while the reviewer narrates in front of a green screen. Research found that video game reviews are not widely produced on YouTube but are in demand. The target audience is 18+ due to the game's violent content. The goal is to produce an informative yet entertaining review on par with popular reviewer Angry Joe.
Elliot Jones proposes creating a 10-15 minute video game review of BioShock: Infinite to show gameplay and content in order to help people decide if the game is worth buying. He will record gameplay footage using screen recording software and edit it down while recording himself discussing various aspects of the game in front of a green screen. The review will have an 18+ age rating to match the game. Research showed that while text reviews are common, video reviews are less frequent but in high demand, with only a few known for their quality, information, and entertainment.
The document outlines a video game review of Bioshock: Infinite. It will discuss various aspects of the game like story, weapons, companions, gameplay, value and graphics. The reviewer will play through the 10-12 hour game, record gameplay footage, and cut it down to the most significant parts to discuss. A face cam of the reviewer will be over the gameplay footage. The reviewer chose to do a video review because it can help people decide if they want to buy the game by showing gameplay and story, which written reviews cannot do. The reviewer is very interested in video games and looking at different parts of the games. Vibe Productions should invest in the reviewer because video reviews are important for customers to decide if a

The document provides an overview of audience research for the video game industry. It discusses that audience research is important to understand the estimated size and preferences of the target audience. The two main types of research discussed are quantitative research, which uses statistics and numbers, and qualitative research, which uses methods like interviews, questionnaires and focus groups. It also outlines different sources for primary research, such as conducting interviews and surveys, and secondary research, such as using industry magazines, books and online sources. Finally, it discusses how audience research is vital for understanding the different target audiences for various video game genres and platforms in order to effectively market and advertise games.
The document provides an overview of audience research methods for the video game industry. It discusses that audience research is important to understand the estimated size and preferences of the target audience. The two main types of research are quantitative and qualitative research. Quantitative research involves statistical data from sources like viewing records and surveys. Qualitative research comes from sources like interviews, focus groups, and questionnaires. Both primary and secondary research methods are described. Primary involves collecting own data through interviews and surveys. Secondary research uses existing information from sources like magazines, books, and online. The goal of audience research is to understand the audience, market, and help with production decisions.
The document discusses ideas for creating a video game review or advertisement. Idea #1 involves filming gameplay footage while talking about the game in front of a green screen to overlay the footage. Idea #2 is a longer video game review highlighting key aspects of the game. Research was also conducted through surveys and interviews to determine what information audiences want from a review, such as gameplay footage and whether the graphics are good. Competitors in the video game review space were also analyzed.
The media has significant influence over audiences and can shape public opinion and attitudes. It can spread information and ideas rapidly through various platforms like the internet, television, newspapers, and social media. How the media portrays and publicizes different topics, like news stories, products, or video games, can impact how the audience perceives and responds to them. For example, positive reviews of Bioshock: Infinite from major publications likely contributed to its commercial success, while negative attention around bugs in Dead Island may have initially hurt its sales. However, any publicity, even bad publicity, can still spread awareness of a product. The mass media aims to maximize viewership and discussion of stories, but this can sometimes amplify or distort events
The document analyzes and compares advertisements for the Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 3 consoles. It finds that the Wii ad targets families by featuring a celebrity playing games with his family, showing how the console can bring people together. In contrast, the PS3 ad provides technical specifications and details about its capabilities, targeting "tech heads and gamers." A survey showed respondents found the Wii ad more inspiring and likely to make them purchase the console, while the PS3 ad was viewed as more informative.
Nintendo aimed their Wii advertising at families, showing games that do not require great skill and that everyone can enjoy together. The Wii appeals to casual gamers looking for exercise and social interaction rather than hardcore gamers seeking relaxation. PlayStation 3 advertising targets hardcore gamers interested in hardware specifications and how games are progressing technologically. Nintendo Wii ads feature celebrities like Jamie Redknapp and his family having fun playing Wii sports together at home to make the product appealing and encourage fans to emulate their idols.
The document discusses how media producers define their target audiences through audience research. It explains that audience research is done to estimate the size of the audience and understand what the audience wants. Different types of research discussed include quantitative research using statistics, qualitative research through surveys and interviews, socio-economic research on economic groups, psychographics analyzing lifestyle profiles, geodemographics on regional identities, and demographics on attributes like age and gender. Understanding these audience characteristics helps media producers decide how to market and tailor their products.
Once there was a little monkey named Kiki Marieelliotnjones
Kiki Marie took her allowance to buy a wiener dog magnet that she loved, but real wiener dogs started sticking to it as she walked near a river, becoming too heavy for her to carry. Hearing alligators trapped in rapids, Kiki used her strength and the magnetism of the dogs to throw them across the river and form a bridge for the alligators to cross to safety, earning her a blue ribbon from the king of All Alligators for saving them.
The document discusses several images on album covers by a band. The images seem to tell a narrative across the albums. The first image shows a man at a typewriter, perhaps struggling to write lyrics. The second shows a man with a baseball bat and chains, representing a fight or struggle. The third shows a silhouette of a man shouting and surrounded by vines and animals, feeling lost but seeing a light. The fourth shows a man trapped in an hourglass as time runs out, unable to live in the present. These images seem to portray personal struggles and lessons about overcoming difficulties and living in the moment.
The document defines and provides examples of different styles, conventions, and techniques used in music videos. Some of the key styles discussed include popular music genres, in-concert footage, animation, narrative videos, and surrealist videos. Conventions covered are lyric interpretation, extending or consolidating a song's meaning, and allusions. Techniques outlined are cutting to the beat, miming/lip syncing, and using multiple images.

Dandelion Hashtable: beyond billion requests per second on a commodity serverAntonios Katsarakis
This slide deck presents DLHT, a concurrent in-memory hashtable. Despite efforts to optimize hashtables, that go as far as sacrificing core functionality, state-of-the-art designs still incur multiple memory accesses per request and block request processing in three cases. First, most hashtables block while waiting for data to be retrieved from memory. Second, open-addressing designs, which represent the current state-of-the-art, either cannot free index slots on deletes or must block all requests to do so. Third, index resizes block every request until all objects are copied to the new index. Defying folklore wisdom, DLHT forgoes open-addressing and adopts a fully-featured and memory-aware closed-addressing design based on bounded cache-line-chaining. This design offers lock-free index operations and deletes that free slots instantly, (2) completes most requests with a single memory access, (3) utilizes software prefetching to hide memory latencies, and (4) employs a novel non-blocking and parallel resizing. In a commodity server and a memory-resident workload, DLHT surpasses 1.6B requests per second and provides 3.5x (12x) the throughput of the state-of-the-art closed-addressing (open-addressing) resizable hashtable on Gets (Deletes).

1. Management Summary
This document outlines the proposal for the design and development of a bespoke website for
ATS.
The new website will act as a presence to promote the corporate identity of the business and act as
an information point for new and existing customers.
The importance of the website is to enable the company to increase their brand awareness – providing
the technology to help them remain at the forefront of their industry over the competition. The website
will be designed to be scalable, allowing additional features to be added in the future.
2. Solution Overview
To capture the customer’s attention when visiting the website, PH New Media proposes to develop a series
of ‘unique selling points’ to promote ATS. The USP messages will be snappy phrases that will be
used throughout the website in rotating animated banners. It is suggested that the USPs created are
used in all promotional activity to create synergy between the company’s advertising.
To maximise the visitor’s experience and aid in the management of the website, PH New Media proposes
to include the below features:
Bespoke design service – PH New Media focus on delivering websites that fit with the client’s brand
image and perception in the market. Usability and navigation is also taken into consideration during the
