Lesson N° 1
Dario Bressan
Secondary
42 students - Elementary
4 de Mayo de 2016
1. What pedagogical principles supported the planning and delivery of this lesson?
Undoubtedly, Motivation is one of the mains aims I as a teacher look for my
students. It is quite difficult to carry on a class without thinking of how to motivate
them to follow the class and the practice of what is being taught. If motivation
starts working, the teaching-learning process is effective and this may lead on other
principles such as imitation where students have the opportunity of learning
through role modeling.
2. What teaching strategies did you use? Which ones were effective? Why / why
not?
Teaching strategies used in class are always focused on helping students, so they
are always not enough. I tried to select images and illustrations appropriate for
their needs, organize points for clarity, repeat points when necessary among many
others. One of the most important teaching strategies for me is to be aware of the
audience I work with. I also tried to be enthusiastic in order to make them feel
invited to use the new vocabulary and structures learnt.
3. How did the students react to your teaching, to the activities and the materials?
How did they react to the lesson?
I felt students liked the lesson in general, the topic and the way in which it was
presented. They appreciated the fact images were showed by using a projector and
the development of the text through different techniques. Although some students
get bored and do not pay attention to lessons, most of them reacted positively.
4. What aspects of the lesson do you consider successful?
I think working with images and analyzing how they can help to understand a text
it's always a good point to departure. Looking for people they know and asking why
they may admire some of them also helped to create a good environment of work.
Trying to expand and answering questions which may not be related to the topic,
makes them feel more comfortable in the working context.
5. What aspects of the lesson require change / improvement?
There are always things to improve, but I felt how the lack of already printed
sheets. may affect the class organization I forgot one sheet to work with them, so I
had to appeal to their abilities to copy and that created a short space of time where
they started to distract.
6. What do you find useful of this lesson that will help you plan the next one?
Knowing they are good at working with texts and developing their comprehension
abilities are good things to take into account. I realized they could solve some
activities quicker than others, so perhaps I will change the way in which I worked
the post reading stage.
7. Any comments or observations you would like to share may be added here.
I think I have some "chemistry" with the class and that is something to bear in
mind and to take advantage of it. The group is quite big, they are 42 first year
students, but (in my opinion) at least this class was easy to carry out.

1. What pedagogical principles supported the planning and delivery of this lesson?
Undoubtedly, Motivation is one of the mains aims I as a teacher look for my students. I always
try to include it in the lesson plan to became it more efficient. Imitation is a good strategy to use
and develop inside the class, so I try to model sentences so it can be helpful. I also include the
use of L1 to explain difficult concepts or how to solve an exercise.
2. What teaching strategies did you use? Which ones were effective? Why / why not?
The use of images at first and a video later on are two of the main teaching strategies I like to
use with secondary students. All material selected is carefully chosen so students can take
advantage of them. Organization is another very important point I take into account as timing,
preparation of material and the like.
3. How did the students react to your teaching, to the activities and the materials? How did they
react to the lesson?
I felt students liked the lesson in general, the use of audiovisuals is always an extra help to pick
students' attention topic and the way in which it was presented. I felt they started working very
good and at the end of the lesson, they were tired and then it was difficult to re order them
again. I think this class was better than the first one, kids were connected to the class, although
some of them misbehaved near the end of the class.
4. What aspects of the lesson do you consider successful?
I think warm up stage was good and that that helped students. The topic was contextualized and
it was a easy to follow. The fact of inviting students not to watch the video at first created a nice
environment of work and lead on students asking to watching more than it was already planned.
5. What aspects of the lesson require change / improvement?
There are always things to improve, I think that lasts activities were kind of boring for students
although they solved them anyway. Creating interesting tasks is a good challenge.
6. What do you find useful of this lesson that will help you plan the next one?
There are always interesting things to take into account for the next lesson plan which may be
useful, in this case the use of while stage activities for the listening was useful for students.
7. Any comments or observations you would like to share may be added here.
I think I will try to include more easy-going activities so students do not get bored.

1. What pedagogical principles supported the planning and delivery of this lesson?
Motivation is still the main aspect to take into account when I prepare a lesson and in situ. I
think that is key of teaching, at least in our discipline. This lesson I tried to include Direction of
activity, where the teacher, me, try to give good instruction to students so they can learn by
doing, since the Natural approach invites to produce.
2. What teaching strategies did you use? Which ones were effective? Why / why not?
The use of images it's always present and it seems to be effective because before we started the
class students by themselves let me know how nice my classes are and that they enjoy them a
lot. So images are a good strategy, I have no doubt. I always try to be enthusiastic, because
that contagious, they will do the same. Without being a clown(I always say students I am not
Piñon Fijo), the idea is to make them feel comfortable.
3. How did the students react to your teaching, to the activities and the materials? How did they
react to the lesson?
As I already wrote, students likes my teaching, they exposed by themselves without any
question, they came and told me that. I think using images, prepared material and having
patience without losing control may be effective. They expect points to work and activities they
may take advantage of. Personally, that all I look for, students confidence as a teacher.
4. What aspects of the lesson do you consider successful?
Again, the use of images, making them read out loud in groups and organization are good
points, and I consider them successful. I also think readings including topic near of their own
reality, are very helpful.
5. What aspects of the lesson require change / improvement?
There are always things to improve, I think sometimes they may get bored when they do not
understand some words, that is why I always try to take into account the different levels that
exists inside the class. As I am so concentrated in my class and t o cover everything planned,
sometimes I forget some students need more attention, that's a point to improve.
6. What do you find useful of this lesson that will help you plan the next one?
As I exposed last class, knowing they are good at working with texts and developing their
comprehension abilities are good things to take into account. It is important to motivate them
and using visual aids it's always a good one.
7. Any comments or observations you would like to share may be added here.
I think I have some "chemistry" with the class and that's so important. They are a good group
with very different needs and levels, that is why I try to think class a whole, but without taking
into account each of them. I am so glad about the comments they did to me this morning.

1. What pedagogical principles supported the planning and delivery of this lesson?
As every in every lesson, motivation is a very important aspect to take into account, it is not an easy
task, but I try not to forget about it. It also helps to control students' behavior in the class. Another
quite important aspect to bear in mind is the fact that students learn by performing, so I always try to
give the class a clear direction so they can all take advantage of it, so the direction of the activity is
fundamental for better development of the class.
2. What teaching strategies did you use? Which ones were effective? Why / why not?
The use of images is always a very good resource to implement in the class, that is why I always use
it and try to develop as good as possible. I think of the use of technology to fit the lecture to the
audience so students can acquire knowledge without seeing the class as strangers. I also try to be
enthusiastic so students can feel more confident with the subject.
3. How did the students react to your teaching, to the activities and the materials? How did they react
to the lesson?
Although it is a numerous classroom, they are quite good students regarding behavior. This group
always receive my proposals happy, so most of times they are kind to material. In this opportunity
they began a bit unfocused, but after we work about the information provided by the listening, they
changed their attitude and the lesson was good. Regarding the last activity, it was the most difficult
for me (honestly) but they surprised me performing very nice dialogues.
4. What aspects of the lesson do you consider successful?
The use of images, group working, creating an easy going environment, inviting them to read out
loud, these some things they enjoy a lot and it can be seen when have to produce or participate.
5. What aspects of the lesson require change / improvement?
I think we always have aspects to improve, but sometimes I think timing is important to pay attention
to. Time flies for me inside the class, so I have to pay strict attention to the watch because many
times I realized the time was almost ran out when students want to leave the class. I should improve
my internal watch so the class should be much more organized.
6. What do you find useful of this lesson that will help you plan the next one?
As it always happens, the use of images and technology in general is always an useful tool to take into
account. Students feel the class more dynamic and easy to develop.
7. Any comments or observations you would like to share may be added here.
As I already wrote last class, I think I have some "chemistry" with the class and that's so important.
Last class they told me they liked my classes and this time it happened again, so this is the most
important thing to I pursuit as a teacher.

Bressan tpd secondary_jornal

  • 1. Lesson N° 1 Dario Bressan Secondary 42 students - Elementary 4 de Mayo de 2016 1. What pedagogical principles supported the planning and delivery of this lesson? Undoubtedly, Motivation is one of the mains aims I as a teacher look for my students. It is quite difficult to carry on a class without thinking of how to motivate them to follow the class and the practice of what is being taught. If motivation starts working, the teaching-learning process is effective and this may lead on other principles such as imitation where students have the opportunity of learning through role modeling. 2. What teaching strategies did you use? Which ones were effective? Why / why not? Teaching strategies used in class are always focused on helping students, so they are always not enough. I tried to select images and illustrations appropriate for their needs, organize points for clarity, repeat points when necessary among many others. One of the most important teaching strategies for me is to be aware of the audience I work with. I also tried to be enthusiastic in order to make them feel invited to use the new vocabulary and structures learnt. 3. How did the students react to your teaching, to the activities and the materials? How did they react to the lesson? I felt students liked the lesson in general, the topic and the way in which it was presented. They appreciated the fact images were showed by using a projector and the development of the text through different techniques. Although some students get bored and do not pay attention to lessons, most of them reacted positively. 4. What aspects of the lesson do you consider successful? I think working with images and analyzing how they can help to understand a text it's always a good point to departure. Looking for people they know and asking why they may admire some of them also helped to create a good environment of work. Trying to expand and answering questions which may not be related to the topic, makes them feel more comfortable in the working context.
  • 2. 5. What aspects of the lesson require change / improvement? There are always things to improve, but I felt how the lack of already printed sheets. may affect the class organization I forgot one sheet to work with them, so I had to appeal to their abilities to copy and that created a short space of time where they started to distract. 6. What do you find useful of this lesson that will help you plan the next one? Knowing they are good at working with texts and developing their comprehension abilities are good things to take into account. I realized they could solve some activities quicker than others, so perhaps I will change the way in which I worked the post reading stage. 7. Any comments or observations you would like to share may be added here. I think I have some "chemistry" with the class and that is something to bear in mind and to take advantage of it. The group is quite big, they are 42 first year students, but (in my opinion) at least this class was easy to carry out. Lesson N° 2 Dario Bressan Secondary 42 students - Elementary 11 de Mayo de 2016 1. What pedagogical principles supported the planning and delivery of this lesson? Undoubtedly, Motivation is one of the mains aims I as a teacher look for my students. I always try to include it in the lesson plan to became it more efficient. Imitation is a good strategy to use and develop inside the class, so I try to model sentences so it can be helpful. I also include the use of L1 to explain difficult concepts or how to solve an exercise. 2. What teaching strategies did you use? Which ones were effective? Why / why not?
  • 3. The use of images at first and a video later on are two of the main teaching strategies I like to use with secondary students. All material selected is carefully chosen so students can take advantage of them. Organization is another very important point I take into account as timing, preparation of material and the like. 3. How did the students react to your teaching, to the activities and the materials? How did they react to the lesson? I felt students liked the lesson in general, the use of audiovisuals is always an extra help to pick students' attention topic and the way in which it was presented. I felt they started working very good and at the end of the lesson, they were tired and then it was difficult to re order them again. I think this class was better than the first one, kids were connected to the class, although some of them misbehaved near the end of the class. 4. What aspects of the lesson do you consider successful? I think warm up stage was good and that that helped students. The topic was contextualized and it was a easy to follow. The fact of inviting students not to watch the video at first created a nice environment of work and lead on students asking to watching more than it was already planned. 5. What aspects of the lesson require change / improvement? There are always things to improve, I think that lasts activities were kind of boring for students although they solved them anyway. Creating interesting tasks is a good challenge. 6. What do you find useful of this lesson that will help you plan the next one? There are always interesting things to take into account for the next lesson plan which may be useful, in this case the use of while stage activities for the listening was useful for students. 7. Any comments or observations you would like to share may be added here. I think I will try to include more easy-going activities so students do not get bored. Lesson N° 3 Dario Bressan Secondary 42 students - Elementary 18 de Mayo de 2016 1. What pedagogical principles supported the planning and delivery of this lesson?
  • 4. Motivation is still the main aspect to take into account when I prepare a lesson and in situ. I think that is key of teaching, at least in our discipline. This lesson I tried to include Direction of activity, where the teacher, me, try to give good instruction to students so they can learn by doing, since the Natural approach invites to produce. 2. What teaching strategies did you use? Which ones were effective? Why / why not? The use of images it's always present and it seems to be effective because before we started the class students by themselves let me know how nice my classes are and that they enjoy them a lot. So images are a good strategy, I have no doubt. I always try to be enthusiastic, because that contagious, they will do the same. Without being a clown(I always say students I am not Piñon Fijo), the idea is to make them feel comfortable. 3. How did the students react to your teaching, to the activities and the materials? How did they react to the lesson? As I already wrote, students likes my teaching, they exposed by themselves without any question, they came and told me that. I think using images, prepared material and having patience without losing control may be effective. They expect points to work and activities they may take advantage of. Personally, that all I look for, students confidence as a teacher. 4. What aspects of the lesson do you consider successful? Again, the use of images, making them read out loud in groups and organization are good points, and I consider them successful. I also think readings including topic near of their own reality, are very helpful. 5. What aspects of the lesson require change / improvement? There are always things to improve, I think sometimes they may get bored when they do not understand some words, that is why I always try to take into account the different levels that exists inside the class. As I am so concentrated in my class and t o cover everything planned, sometimes I forget some students need more attention, that's a point to improve. 6. What do you find useful of this lesson that will help you plan the next one? As I exposed last class, knowing they are good at working with texts and developing their comprehension abilities are good things to take into account. It is important to motivate them and using visual aids it's always a good one. 7. Any comments or observations you would like to share may be added here. I think I have some "chemistry" with the class and that's so important. They are a good group with very different needs and levels, that is why I try to think class a whole, but without taking into account each of them. I am so glad about the comments they did to me this morning. Lesson N° 4
  • 5. Dario Bressan Secondary 42 students - Elementary 01 de Junio de 2016 1. What pedagogical principles supported the planning and delivery of this lesson? As every in every lesson, motivation is a very important aspect to take into account, it is not an easy task, but I try not to forget about it. It also helps to control students' behavior in the class. Another quite important aspect to bear in mind is the fact that students learn by performing, so I always try to give the class a clear direction so they can all take advantage of it, so the direction of the activity is fundamental for better development of the class. 2. What teaching strategies did you use? Which ones were effective? Why / why not? The use of images is always a very good resource to implement in the class, that is why I always use it and try to develop as good as possible. I think of the use of technology to fit the lecture to the audience so students can acquire knowledge without seeing the class as strangers. I also try to be enthusiastic so students can feel more confident with the subject. 3. How did the students react to your teaching, to the activities and the materials? How did they react to the lesson? Although it is a numerous classroom, they are quite good students regarding behavior. This group always receive my proposals happy, so most of times they are kind to material. In this opportunity they began a bit unfocused, but after we work about the information provided by the listening, they changed their attitude and the lesson was good. Regarding the last activity, it was the most difficult for me (honestly) but they surprised me performing very nice dialogues. 4. What aspects of the lesson do you consider successful? The use of images, group working, creating an easy going environment, inviting them to read out loud, these some things they enjoy a lot and it can be seen when have to produce or participate. 5. What aspects of the lesson require change / improvement? I think we always have aspects to improve, but sometimes I think timing is important to pay attention to. Time flies for me inside the class, so I have to pay strict attention to the watch because many times I realized the time was almost ran out when students want to leave the class. I should improve my internal watch so the class should be much more organized. 6. What do you find useful of this lesson that will help you plan the next one? As it always happens, the use of images and technology in general is always an useful tool to take into account. Students feel the class more dynamic and easy to develop. 7. Any comments or observations you would like to share may be added here. As I already wrote last class, I think I have some "chemistry" with the class and that's so important. Last class they told me they liked my classes and this time it happened again, so this is the most important thing to I pursuit as a teacher.
