  1. So a couple of years ago, we had an introduction of a new standard for Bluetooth. Bluetooth 5.0. This is a gap of six years after the adoption of Bluetooth 4.0 Bluetooth SIG has released the standard for Bluetooth 5.0 This version is mainly suited for the cellphones that help to connect the smart watch and earphone with HD voice and also faster transfer of data between the neighbouring devices. As it has a dual audio support, we can have a stereo effect. It is also a way the new standard will redefine the way people view the internet of things.
  2. As in this picture you can see there are 2 classes of devices. Mainly headphones, smart glass, laptop, camera. These are multimedia devices and are continuously used by people. These devices need high bandwidth. There is also another class of devices such as the things we use can be made smart like the light bulb. Chair, aircon, washing machine and many more. These devices do not need Hi speed connection to send the data. Hence they can use BLE which we will talk ahead in later slides. Now Bluetooth is thriving on the fact that it can communicate beyond audio and stereo communication such as IoT and M2M communication. This goal is accomplished thanks to the technology’s maturity and strong presence in the market place.
  3. So when the computer revolution began we had 1 billlon devices by 1990. At this time internet was nascent with the dialup modems with 56kbps. Now we have 4g with LTE with about 100Mbps. As these connections are very high speed, they also consume a lot of power. There are other devices such as chairs, AC, Geyser, Fan, lights, Car which can be connected to the internet.
