- 5. What Is It Blogging? Founded: Blogging are online journals. Originally called “Weblogs” – eventually shortened to “Blogs”. Blogging became popular in 1999 with the creation of Blogger and LiveJournal. Today there are a variety of platforms to blog to including Wordpress and Tumblr. Purpose: Puts content creation in the hands of individuals. Anyone can write a blog about any topic.
- 7. Blogging is Social Media • However you can use other social media tools to promote your blog. • Post it on Facebook, Share it on LinkedIn, grab snippets and place on Twitter. • Blogging is the grandfather of current social media but plays well with the newbies.

- 9. Blogging – Then • • • • A real online journal. A way to stay in touch with friends. “A day in the life”. Share thoughts, ideas, notions.
