The document discusses how the author attracted their magazine audience in the rap and hip hop genre. They kept the front cover simple with a single image rather than gossip or glamour typically featured on covers. While most magazines in the genre have flashy covers and logos, the author went against convention by focusing on the music over extra details and using a single image rather than multiple like competitors.

THIS IS TO SHOW THE PLANNING WHICH I CARRIED OUT BEFORE MAKING MY DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD, ANALYSING PREVIOUS DOUBLE PAGE SPREADS AND THINKING ABOUT WHAT I MAY DO.
1. How did you attract/address your audience?
I have attracted my audience by keeping my
front cover relatively simple because I
understand that my audience wants to get the
latest and greatest on music not necessarily
the gossip and glamour side of the music
industry although there is no way i could just
have a title and no story so I have gone against
convention which is what most of the
magazines for my particular genre do
Both magazines have very
simple front covers which is what
I have imitated with my own but
Examples also to make up for the lack of
textual flair they have both used
very capturing images which is
why I chose to have a single male
focus but I have also gone
against this in my own way
because usually magazines on
my particular genre don't have
more than one image on there
front cover.
2. • With the majority of magazines that cover or support the rap and hip
hop genre one of there main focus’s is the master head its almost one
of the biggest selling points because it addresses the audience and
with those one or two words acts as a blurb for the magazine
The logos for most of these
hip hop magazines are
very attractive in terms of
the colour and how they
represent the magazine
