This document discusses potential masthead ideas for a magazine focused on house and dance music. Six potential titles are presented: URBAN, HouseHeads, D.A.N.C.E, Tune In, Pulse, and MUSIK. A poll of the target audience showed that HouseHeads was the most popular title. Five masthead font styles are then shown for the HouseHeads title, along with reasons each style relates to the house and dance music genre. A second poll revealed that Masthead Font 1 was the favorite among the target audience and will be used for the magazine masthead.

During this PowerPoint I have
listed the potential names for
my magazine and why I have
chosen them. I have then carried
out a poll asking my target
audience which names they
prefer.

2. Possible titles for my magazine
• These are the possible titles for my magazines.
• -URBAN
• -HouseHeads
• -D.A.N.C.E
• -Tune In
• -Pulse
• -MUSIK
• Each of these potential titles for my magazine are all
very unique and different they all reflect the genre of
music which my magazine features (House and
Dance).
• I have conducted a poll and asked my target audience
which is their faveourite titles.

• Here is the poll that I have conducted and the results.
As you can see from my poll themost popular title for my magazine was
HouseHeads. I have now developed the masthead font this title.

5. Reasons for each font.
• Masthead font1.
• This is my personal favorite font as I feel it
represents the genre of my magazine the most.
The O of the word House has been changed to
a symbol of a house which I have personally
added. I feel that this connotes the idea that
my genre of magazine is house and dance
music. The font looks futuristic and unique.
The font is individual and will create an image
that will be recognizable to my niche target
audience.

6. • Masthead font 2.
• The second potential masthead font is
also suitable for my magazine as it has
the same futuristic style font which
connotes the genre of house and dance
music being ‘out of this world’. However
this style of font is more circular and
less heavy than the previous style of
font.

7. • Masthead font 3.
• My third potential masthead font is also
suited for my magazine. The futuristic
style of font is evident and also connotes
the genre of magazine. This font also has
a pixilated feel to it which again
connotes the techno house music genre
which my magazine is focusing on.

8. • Masthead font 4.
• Masthead font four is similar to font
number three with the futuristic and
pixilated feel to it. It also reflects the
house and dance music genre which my
magazine is about. The font also stands
out like he others and is the largest of
my potential fonts, therefore will attract
my target audience.

9. • Masthead font 5.
• My final masthead font is different to
my other potential fonts. It has a
slightly different style to it. It has more
gaps in between each letter and has a
more rounded circular style to it,
although it does still connote the dance
and house music style.

for my magazine.
