1. In 1792, a man named Janos Zavloczksi from Gombos, Serbia became blind but was healed after washing his eyes with water from a miraculous fountain where the Virgin Mary had appeared to him. 2. A Marian shrine and chapel were built around the fountain, and it became a pilgrimage site known as the "Blessed Mother of Doroszlo" where many reported miracle cures. 3. Though religion was banned during Communist rule, people continued secretly visiting the shrine, which was enlarged in 1973 and received more donations after Yugoslavia stopped being communist in the 1980s.
