Subsequent popes and councils have reinforced this doctrine. The title is seen as fulfilled in biblical passages describing Mary and reflecting her exalted status and intercessory power through her divine motherhood.
Neil Harrington, a Catholic layman from Connecticut, began receiving visions of the Virgin Mary in 1990 during weekly rosary prayers at his family home. The visions continued until 1997 and included messages directed at Catholic priests. In 1994, several statues of the Virgin Mary wept at the Harrington home, an event documented on film. Though initially condemned by the local bishop, the apparitions grew in popularity, attracting pilgrims and priests from around the world. After further investigation, the bishop lifted the ban on the messages. Harrington formed a non-profit to manage donations for the site, which became a Marian pilgrimage destination.
The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared above a stump of a dead chestnut tree in Moncrivello, Italy in 1562. She appeared to Domenica di Miglianotto, a peasant woman who was born with physical deformities. During the apparition, Mary healed Domenica of her illnesses and disabilities. Mary asked that a church be built on the site, and many miracles of healing occurred there afterward. The Roman Catholic Church took control of the site and built a large church named the Shrine of the Blessed Mother of Trompone. The Pope recognized the apparition and miracles and granted a plenary indulgence for visitors.

APPARITION OF FATHER SAINT JOSEPH TO A CATHOLIC NUN.docx
1. In Study of Catholic Theology, Mariology & Christianity:
THE APPARITION OF FATHER SAINT JOSEPH TO A CATHOLIC NUN
(And the instructions of Mother Mary as “Our Lady of America”)
I. INTRODUCTION: Marian Apparition to an American Catholic Nun
In 1956, Mother Mary appeared to Sister Mary Ephrem (a.k.a. Sister Mary Mildred
Neuzil), a Roman Catholic nun, who was a member of the “Sisters of the Precious
Blood” (a religious congregation for women); however, only around 2018 that much of
her secret messages were publicly revealed by the Roman Catholic religious.
A specific program of devotion to the Holy Family (of Child Jesus, Mother Mary & Father
Joseph) was asked by Sister Mary to propagate, so she then turned to the Vicar
General, Archbishop Paul (Ohio Archdiocese, United States of America), who was
convinced of the authenticity of Sister Mary’s messages, and he placed his imprimatur
on the following Marian instructions of “Our Lady of America”:
1) To make a medal that would have the “Our Lady of America” image on the front and
the symbol of the Christian Family and the Blessed Holy Trinity on the back (primarily
for the spiritual cleansing of both the families and the military from the American
government that has been infiltrated by the adversaries of God); and
2) To honor Mother Mary, with the title “Our Lady of America, the Immaculate Virgin”,
via a Marian shrine at the “Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate
Conception” in Washington DC, as the national capital of the United States of America
(primarily for the spiritual cleaning of the lands infiltrated by the adversaries of God);
However, a certain wave of suppression of religious women (especially nuns) came
about in the United States and worldwide after the Second Vatican Council (1962-
1965); after numerous Marian Apparitions were revealed during those years – as many
religious congregations for women have been closed, suppressed and silenced.
In the United States, the number of religious women (or nuns) declined from 181,421 in
1965 to 47,160 in 2016; and as many as 300 of the 420 religious institutes were in their
last decades of existence. Moreover, the religious congregation of Sister Mary was also
closed, and she lived with another sister in Ohio, until she passed away in 2000.
After so many decades, the aforementioned wishes of Mother Mary were not yet fulfilled
by the Roman Catholic Church (religious world organization) in the United States of
America; thus, the term “America” in the Marian title “Our Lady of America” has been
opened to all nations in the continents of America (of North, Central & South America).
So if Mother Mary gave Sister Mary the title “Our Lady of America”, then the Marian title
could be synonymous to “Our Mother of America”; thus, is there such a thing as “Our
Father of America”? So as to exult a Catholic title as “Our Mother & Father of America”?
Possible, since Father Saint Joseph also appeared to Sister Mary in the apparitions.
2. II. THE SPIRITUAL TEST OF SAINT JOSEPH TO SISTER MARY
Sister Mary received two messages from whom she claimed as from Saint Joseph:
1) CHOICE1: In the first part, Sister Mary wrote what she heard was from “Joseph”
but actually she does not see him, and the content of the message was
considered heretical by Catholics (or against Catholic doctrines), because the
alleged “Joseph” claimed that he was conceived and born without original sin;
2) CHOICE2: In the second part, Sister Mary had seen the apparition of Father
Saint Joseph, and the message had spoken more about “divine fatherhood” of
becoming a virtuous example of family love to the children and for all fellowmen
in honor of God;
Thus, Sister Mary (and both all the religious men and women, mothers & fathers alike)
have been tested by the “holy spirit of discernment”, to choose on what would be the
“good spirit” between the two messages – CHOICE1: Joseph who exulted himself? Or
CHOICE2: Joseph who humbly admonished on what is a “good father”?
A. The FIRST MESSAGE from “Joseph”:
Sister Mary described how Saint Joseph first visited her on October 1956, about one
week after Mother Mary first appeared to the nun. On this “preview”, the nun didn’t see
Joseph, but only heard him (or a manly voice), that told her to write the following
message:
“It is true, my daughter, that immediately after my conception I was, through the future
merits of Jesus and because of my exceptional role of future Virgin-Father, cleansed
from the stain of original sin. I was from that moment confirmed in grace and never had
the slightest stain on my soul. This is my unique privilege among men.
My pure heart also was from the first moment of existence inflamed with love for God.
Immediately, at the moment when my soul was cleansed from original sin, grace was
infused into it in such abundance that, excluding my holy spouse, I surpassed the
holiness of the highest angel in the angelic choir.
My heart suffered with the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. Mine was a silent suffering, for it
was my special vocation to hide and shield, as long as God willed, the Virgin Mother
and Son from the malice and hatred of men. The most painful of my sorrows was that I
knew beforehand of their passion, yet would not be there to console them.
Their future suffering was ever present to me and became my daily cross, so I became,
in union with my holy spouse, co-redemptor of the human race. Through compassion for
the sufferings of Jesus and Mary I co-operated, as no other, in the salvation of the
world.”
3. CLARIFICATIONS FROM FAITHFUL CATHOLICS
Many Catholics gave this comment after reading the “first message” (also known as the
“first test”):
“First, Saint Joseph himself received neither an Immaculate Conception, nor any other
gift of near equivalence to the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary. Saint Joseph
was conceived with original sin, thus being in need of subsequent redemption.
Second, the “cleansing from original sin” that Saint Joseph allegedly received is much
the same as that which we all receive at our baptism, for we too are cleansed from
original sin, in the formal Sacrament of baptism (usually administered by an ordained
person). But the “baptism” that Saint Joseph received was a “mystical baptism”, that is,
from Christ directly (by becoming a good father to the adopted Child Jesus Christ).
Third, it is true that any baptism cleanses the soul from original sin and leaves no stain
of sin behind. Yet it is also true that those who are conceived in original sin, after
baptism, still have a remnant of original sin, namely ‘pride, greed, lust, etc.’, but only as
a certain tendency towards sin. However, with Saint Joseph, his fatherly holiness in
devotion to God was achieved through care for the Child Jesus.
Fourth, Saint Joseph was able to avoid sin by meditating on the advent of the Messiah,
and later by the presence of the Messiah within the Holy Family. Saint John the Baptist,
the cousin of Jesus, was also able to avoid sin by meditating on the advent of the
Messiah (as he baptized Jesus later on). Saint Joseph, as the fatherly head of the Holy
Family, was a guardian to Mother Mary and the Christ-child in avoiding sin, and in
enduring their simple way of life in the rural town of Nazareth, without sin.
Fifth, although Saint Joseph avoided all sin throughout his entire life as a father, he was
still affected by that remnant of original sin that could weaken the heart and clouds the
mind. In the Bible, Joseph was engaged with Mary but he found out that Mary was
pregnant, but not from him; that he had plans to divorce Mary, but God corrected
Joseph that he obeyed God to accept Mary and the Son Jesus as his own.
As the Bible says, “Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother
Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of
the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her
a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. But while he thought on these
things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying:
‘Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is
conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call
his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that
it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, ‘Behold, a
4. virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name
Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us’.
Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and
took unto him his wife. And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and
he called his name ‘Jesus’.” (Matthew 1:18-25; New Testament Bible)
Sixth, the gift of avoiding all personal sin throughout one's entire life is a great gift, but it
pales in comparison to the gift of the Immaculate Conception. Mother Mary was not
merely sinless; she was so thoroughly filled with every grace from conception that she
has perfect purity of heart and perfect clarity of mind.
Thus, Saint Joseph, though one of the holiest of the saints, and committed no sins as a
father, still he had the weaknesses and imperfections which accompany those who are
conceived and afflicted with original sin; wherein Mary had no personal sin, no original
sin, and no imperfection; while Joseph had no personal sin, but he had original sin and
imperfection.
Seventh, finally, through Joseph’s love for Mary and Jesus, and through his meditation
on the future spiritual challenges of his adopted son Child Jesus Christ, he participated
in humanity’s redemption; for he is the sole foster father of Christ and the sole visible
head of the Holy Family.
B. The SECOND MESSAGE from “Joseph”:
On March 11 1958, Sister Mary wrote on her diary, that Mother Mary said to her that
Father Saint Joseph will come on the eve of his feast on March 19; as Mary said:
“Prepare yourself well. There will be a special message. My holy spouse has an
important part to play in bringing peace to the world.”
On the eve of Saint Joseph’s feast day was Father Saint Joseph’s first appearance to
Sister Mary; and as he came as promised, he said to Sister Mary:
“Kneel down, my daughter, for what you will hear and what you will write shall bring
countless souls to a new way of life.
Through you, small one, the Holy Trinity desires to make known to souls one’s desire to
be adored, honored, and loved within the kingdom, the interior kingdom of their hearts.
I bring to souls the purity of my family life, and the obedience that crowned it. All
fatherhood is blest in me whom the Eternal Father chose as His representative on earth,
the Virgin-Father of His own Divine Son (Jesus Christ).
Through me the Heavenly Father has blessed all fatherhood, and through me He
continues and will continue to do so till the end of time.
5. My spiritual fatherhood extends to all God’s children, and together with my Virgin
Spouse (Mary), I watch over them with great love and solicitude.
Fathers must come to me, small one, to learn obedience to authority: to the Church
always, as the mouthpiece of God, to the laws of the country in which they live, insofar
as these do not go against God and their neighbor.
Mine was perfect obedience to the Divine Will, as it was shown and made known to me
by the “Jewish law and religion” (or “The 10 Commandments” with “Do not have false
gods”, “Honor your mother and father”, “Do not kill”, “Do not steal”, etc.). To be careless
in this is most displeasing to God and will be severely punished in the next world.
Let fathers also imitate my great purity of life and the deep respect I held for my
Immaculate Spouse (Mary). Let them be an example to their children and fellowmen,
never willfully doing anything that would cause scandal among God’s people.
Fatherhood is from God, and it must take once again its rightful place among men.”
Thus, in the Second Message, the term ‘Virgin-Father’ instead refers to God the Father
(as the First Person of the Holy Trinity); and Father Saint Joseph humbly indicated that
he is only a representative of God the Father as a foster father to His Divine Son Jesus
Christ (as the Second Person of the Holy Trinity).
Therefore, in comparing the first & second messages - the term ‘Virgin-Father’ already
meant holy fatherhood of becoming a true “Holy Father”.
After the message shared, in a vision, Sister Mary had seen Father Saint Joseph’s
“most pure heart”; and his heart seemed to be resting on a brown cross, with flames
pouring from the heart and what looked to be a lily flower appeared in the midst of them.
Then Father Saint Joseph humbly speaks to Sister Mary again:
“Behold this pure heart so pleasing to Him (God the Father) who made it. The cross, my
little one, upon which my heart rests is the cross of the Passion, which was ever-present
before me, causing me intense suffering. I desire souls to come to my heart that they
may learn true union with the Divine Will (of God). Make known to you how God wishes
me to be honored in union with (Child) Jesus and (Mother) Mary (of the Holy Family), to
obtain peace among men and nations.”
Then Father Saint Joseph told Sister Mary about the “Feast Day of Saint Joseph”:
“My child, I desire a day to be set aside to honor my fatherhood. The privilege of being
chosen by God (the Father) to be the ‘Virgin-Father’ of His Son was mine alone, and no
honor, excluding that bestowed upon my Holy Spouse, was ever, or will ever, be as
sublime or as high as this. The Holy Trinity desires thus to honor me that in my unique
fatherhood all fatherhood might be blessed.
6. Dear child, I was king in the little home of (the rural town of) Nazareth, for I sheltered
within it the ‘Prince of Peace’ (The Child Jesus) and the ‘Queen of Heaven’ (Mother
Mary). To me they looked for protection and sustenance, and I did not fail them. I
received from them the deepest love and reverence, for in me they saw Him (God the
Father), whose place I took over them.
So the head of the family must be loved, obeyed, and respected, and in return be a true
father and protector to those under his care. In honoring in a special way my
fatherhood, you also honor (the Child) Jesus and (Mother) Mary. The Divine (Holy)
Trinity has placed into our keeping the peace of the world.
The imitation of the Holy Family, my child, of the virtues (of family love) we practiced in
our little home at (the rural town of) Nazareth, is the way for all souls to that peace
which comes from God alone and which none other can give.”
C. The FINAL TEST from “Joseph”:
After the message, Sister Mary was given the favor of a “unique and marvelous vision of
the glorious Father Saint Joseph.” She described the vision on how he seemed
suspended:
“A short distance above what had the appearance of a large globe with clouds moving
about it. His head was slightly raised, the eyes gazing upward as if in ecstasy. The
hands were in a position similar to that of the priest during the celebration of Holy Mass,
only they extended upward somewhat. She noticed the color of his hair and his rather
small and slightly forked beard seemed a very dark brown. His eyes resembled in color
the hair and beard. He was clothed in a white robe that reached to his ankles. Over this
he wore a sort of cloak which did not come together at the throat, but covering the
shoulders and draped gracefully over each arm, reached to the hem of the robe. The
cloak at times had, or seemed to have, the appearance of a brown, sometimes a purple,
hue, or perhaps a slight blending of the two. The belt about his waist was of a gold
color, as were his sandals. Sister Mary also added important details how he appeared
quite youthful, yet gave the impression of rare maturity combined with great strength.
He seemed a bit taller than medium height. The lines of his face appeared strong and
purposeful, softened somewhat by a gentle serenity… Then she saw two angels carried
what seemed to be small satin-covered pillows, one holding a gold crown, the other a
gold scepter, and she heard said: ‘Thus should he be honored whom the King desires to
honor’…
I also saw his most pure heart at this time. Moreover, I saw the Holy Spirit in the form of
a dove (of peace), hovering above his head.”
Thus, the vision given to Sister Mary is to be blessed with the “holy spirit of
discernment” on distinguishing an “earthly king” (such as monarchs of royal families
7. among political governments of world nations) - from that of a “spiritual king” (that
blessed by God among the majority common people, rather as fathers).
Thus, amidst the descriptions of the vision, those blessed with discernment would
instead choose the “holy spirit” (as a dove of peace), considered to have an overview of
all humanity, and capable of gentleness and humility to God.
As this vision ended, Sister Mary said that Father Saint Joseph told her:
“The Holy Father need have no fear, for I have been appointed his special protector. As
God chose me to be the special guardian of His Son, so has He chosen me as the
special guardian of him who in Christ’s Name is head of the Mystical Body of that same
Son on earth.
My special protection of the Holy Father and the Church should be made known to him.
God wishes to make this known to him that he may receive thereby renewed
consolation and encouragement.
During the war, little daughter, it was I who saved him from death at the hands of his
enemies. Continually I watch over him and the Church, and I desire this to be
acknowledged for the greater glory of God and the good of souls.
Lovely child, precious to the heart of your spiritual father, I will come again on the last
Sunday of this month. Jesus and Mary will come also in a special visit. Receive my
blessing.”
Thus, with the use of the vision, there was a discussion among Catholics (and
Christians alike) - with regards to the terms “Holy Father”, “Church”, “war”, etc.; and why
the term “His Son” did not indicate the name “Jesus Christ”.
Therefore, there has been a choice between the following:
1) CHOICE1: “earthly king” (depicted by political monarchs of world nations and its
governments; including that of the Roman Catholic Pope of the Holy See,
monarch king of the Vatican City, as bishop in the city-state of Rome in Italy, of
the European Union; and other political monarchs such as the British Royal
Family of the Church of England or Anglican Church, in the city-state of London
of the United Kingdom, also part of the European Union, etc.); and
2) CHOICE2: “spiritual king” (depicted by loving fathers among families of the
majority common people, who believes in the holy fatherhood exemplified by
Father Saint Joseph, whom was a poor father, however not belonging to any
religious and political rank, but even as a poor worker, he faithfully nurtured and
lovingly protected the Holy Family in the “Universal Church of Love & Peace”);
8. When Sister Mary knelt down for the blessing of Father Saint Joseph, she felt his hands
on her head and heard: “May (Child) Jesus and (Mother) Mary, through my hands,
bestow upon you eternal peace.”
D. Special Devotions
On March 30, Sister Mary said that Father Saint Joseph gave requests, similar to those
of Mother Mary (and the First Saturday devotions). Sister Mary said that the Most Holy
Trinity chose the “Sacred Hearts of the Child Jesus, Mother Mary, and Father Saint
Joseph (as the Holy Family)” to bring peace to the world (and throughout humanity), for
the reason for their requests for special love and honor of God, and for the reparation of
sins.
Sister Mary also said that Father Saint Joseph told her:
“I am the protector of the Church and the family home, as I was the protector of Christ
(Jesus) and His Mother (Mary) while I lived upon earth. (Child) Jesus and (Mother) Mary
desire that my pure heart, so long hidden and unknown, be now honored in a special
way.
Let my children honor my most pure heart in a special manner on the First Wednesday
of the month by reciting the Joyful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary in memory of my life
with (Child) Jesus and (Mother) Mary and the love I gave them, and the sorrows I
suffered with them.
Let them receive Holy Communion in union with the love with which I received the
Savior for the first time and each time I held Him in my arms. Those who honor me in
this way will be consoled by my presence at their death, and I myself will conduct them
safely into the presence of Jesus and Mary.
I will come again, little child of my most pure heart. Until then, continue in patience and
humility, which is so pleasing to God.”
Sister Mary mentioned that just as Father Saint Joseph had promised for March 30,
(Child) Jesus and (Mother) Mary also came. She saw Jesus as a boy around fifteen
years old, and he spoke to her “about the sanctification of the family”.
Then Mother Mary and Father Saint Joseph then spoke to Sister Mary also about the
sanctification of the families, and about “The Divine Indwelling.”
III. WHAT IS THE DIVINE INDWELLING?
“Divine Indwelling” is a Christian doctrine (and a Catholic doctrine) that “designates the
special permanent presence of God in the just, a holy presence different from God's
omnipresence by virtue of creation.”
9. As the Bible says (in 2 Corinthians 6:16): "You are the temple of the living God". Thus,
the divine indwelling is the Holy Trinity present in the soul of a just person.
In a Bible verse (1 Corinthians 3:16), Saint Paul asks: "Do you not know that you are the
temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?" The Catechism of the Catholic
Church in paragraphs 1265 teaches, "Baptism ... makes" a person "a temple of the Holy
Spirit."
The Holy Spirit is emphasized because He is sent by God the Father, as Saint Paul (in
Galatians 4:6) writes: "God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, 'Abba,
Father’."
In John 14:16–17, Christ says, "I will ask the Father and he will give you another
Advocate to dwell with you forever, the Spirit of truth. ... You shall know him, because
he will dwell with you and be in you."
The Holy Trinity dwells among the faithful Christian (and cannot be separated), as the
Son (Jesus) is eternally proceeding from the Father (in Heaven), and the Holy Spirit is
eternally proceeding from the Father and the Son.
Divine activity outside of the Holy Trinity, for instance, sanctifying a soul, is said to be
accomplished by all three Divine Persons – of Father, Son & Holy Spirit - acting in
unison as the One God.
The holy presence of God in a person's soul is what causes sanctifying grace (much like
electricity in a light bulb causes light; but God’s grace empowers people’s souls,
especially among holy families).
Thus, all three Persons (of God as Father, Son & Holy Spirit), is fulfilling collectively by
producing perpetual sanctifying grace in people’s soul; as Saint Thomas Aquinas
teaches: "The effect of divine grace is also from the Father, who dwells in us by divine
grace, just as the Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit (of family love)."
Therefore, God as the Holy Trinity, who dwells in a holy soul, as 1 John 4:16 attests:
"God is charity: and he who abides in charity abides in God, and God in thee." In John
14:23, Christ similarly professes: "If anyone loves me, thou will keep my word, and my
Father will love thee, and we will come to thee, and make our abode with thee."
Thus, we (as faithful Christians), discover how God dwells within a person's soul — as
the Holy Spirit, blessed with sanctifying grace.
