Effectiveness of multilayer coated tool in turning of aisi 430 f steeleSAT Journals
Abstract This paper presents minimization of surface roughness in dry turning of AISI 430F steel using TiN-TiCN-Al2O3-ZrCN multilayer coated cemented carbide & cryo-treated inserts. Effect of cutting velocity, feed rate, depth of cut & machining duration is studied on the surface roughness. Taguchi’s design of experiment is used to find the optimum factor levels. It is found that the feed rate has much effect in producing lower surface roughness followed by speed. The depth of cut has lesser role on surface roughness. The result of Taguchi method shows that cutting velocity of 250m/min, feed rate of 0.25 mm/rev and depth of cut of 0.3mm should be maintained as optimal parameter settings for both coated and cryo-treated tools. Cryo-treated tools perform better. Keywords: Cryo-treatment, Dry Turning, Surface roughness, Taguchi Method

Surface quality enrichment using fine particle impact damper in boring operat...eSAT Journals
Abstract Boring operations are challenging owing to limited process performance due to inherent tool overhang and resulting vibrations. The tool vibrations can be suppressed with insertion of suitable damping methodology. The fine particle impact damping offers a better damping method. Due to its conceptual simplicity, potential effectiveness over a wide frequency range, temperature and degradation insensitivity and cost-effectiveness, particle damping is an attractive passive damping. The fine particles embedded within small hole in a vibrating structure to dissipate the exciting energy thereby damping the vibrations. The present work, investigates the improvement of surface quality of boring operation using fine particle impact damper. Substantial improvement of surface quality of the internally machined surfaces has been noticed in the experiments. Keywords: Boring tool, Impact damping, Surface quality, Tool overhang, vibration control.

Surface Topology Evaluation of P20 Steel by Multipass Cutting Strategy in Wir...IJERA Editor
Wire EDM process eliminates the work materials by a series of electrical sparks between the workpiece and wire electrode. These sparks creates craters and burs on the machined surface. Machined surface with poor integrity is a major disadvantage of WEDM. This work presents the investigation on multi-pass cutting operation (single rough cut followed by multi trim cuts) in wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) of p20 steel. Trim cuts were performed using Taguchi’s design of experiment method to investigate the influence of discharge current (Ip), pulse-on time (Ton), pulse-off time, servo voltage and number of trim cuts on two performance characteristics namely cutting rate and surface roughness (SR).Experiments were performed using 0.25mm brass wire. Result shows that the surface finish improves significantly in trim cutting operation.

In this investigation, experimental work and computational work are combined to obtain
improvement in the surface roughness of nickel alloy specimen, the machining is carried out by means
of CNC wire electric discharge machining (WEDM). Brass wire is used as the tool electrode and nickel
alloy (Inconel600) is used as the work piece material. The machining parameters such as Pulse-On time
(Ton), Pulse-Off time (Toff), Peak Current (Ip), and Bed speed are considered as input parameters for this
project. Surface roughness and Recast layer are considered the output parameters. The experiments
with the pre-planned set of input parameters are designed based on Taguchi’s orthogonal array. The
surface roughness is measured using stylus type roughness tester and the thickness of the Recast layer
is measured using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The results obtained from the experiments are
fed to the Minitab software and optimum input parameters for the desired output parameters are
identified. The software uses the concept of analysis of variance (ANOVA) and indicates the nature of
effect of input parameters on the output parameters and confirmation is done by validation
experiments. Once the recast layer thickness is obtained Chemical Etching and abrasive blasting is
performed in order to remove the recast layer and again the surface roughness is measured by using
stylus type roughness tester. Finally from the obtained results it was found that there was significant
improvement in the Surface roughness of the nickel alloy material. In addition using regression
analysis this work is stimulated by computational method and the results are obtained.

Investigation on Optimization of Machining Parameters in Wire EDM using Taguc...ijsrd.com
In this paper, the parameters used in the cutting of Cemented Tungsten Carbide using wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) with a Brass electrode was optimized using Taguchi method. Taguchi method is used to formulate the experimental layout and to analyze the effect of each parameter on the machining characteristics. Also it is used to predict the optimal choice for each parameter such as peak current, voltage, and pulse duration and interval time. It was found that these parameters have significant influence on machining characteristics such as Metal Removal Rate (MRR) and Surface Roughness (SR). The result of the work reveals that, the peak current significantly affects the Surface Roughness (SR) and the pulse duration mainly affects the Metal Removal Rate (MRR).
Process Parameter Optimization of WEDM for AISI M2 & AISI H13 by Anova & Anal...IJERA Editor
WEDM is a widely recognized unconventional material cutting process used to manufacture components with complex shapes and profiles of hard materials. In this thermal erosion process, there is no physical contact between the wire tool and work materials. AISI M2 and AISI H13 materials are taken for studyand molybdenum wire electrode diameter (0.18mm); experiment is conducted according to Taguchi‟s L16 OA, with input parameters as Peak current, Pulse on, Pulse off their response on MRR, Surface Roughness, Kerf width & Spark Gap is analysed to check the significance of each using ANOVA. Process parameter optimization is done by Analytic Hierarchy Process with the criteria Maximum MRR, minimum kerf and surface roughness. It is observed that for material AISI M2 at low value of peak current (1 A), pulse off (20μs) and pulse on (30μs) we can minimize surface roughness (3.30μm), kerf width (0.195 mm) and maximize MRR (0.022 g/min),from the selected levels whereas for material AISI H13 Peak current (1A), Pulse On (40μs) and high Pulse Off (30μs) we get better Surface roughness (3.71 μm), kerf width (0.196mm) and maximum MRR (0.020g/min), from the selected levels.
Investigation of Process Parameters for Optimization of Surface Roughness in ...IJERA Editor
Surface roughness has significant effect on functionality and service life of components. If surface roughness is properly controlled then, performance of the component enhances in operational applications. Surface roughness becomes key concern when intricate profiles and shapes are required to be manufactured in components. The objective of the paper is to bring up an adequate surface roughness in finish cut by optimizing process variables. If initial surface form is obtained by proper control of machining parameters then additional finishing efforts and lead time reduce a lot. In the industrial tool room survey availability of machining data is prime concern in terms of tuned process parameter for precision machining. Optimization of process parameters is essential in order to arrest surface roughness and thereby improve surface textures. Experimental investigations are performed to study the effect of pulse current, pulse on time and gap voltage on response of surface roughness, in case of ram EDM. Design of experimentation (DOE) and ANOVA are carried out for optimization of process parameters, within work interval of finish cut machining

Wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) is a non conventional machining process which is widely used in machining of conductive materials. The applications of WEDM are in automobiles, aero-space, medical instruments, tool and die industries. in the present study analysis of effect of various control factors like Ton,Toff,Sv,Ip,Wf,Wt on checking the cutting rate of S7 steel is studied by using wire cut EDM and one factor time approach.S7 steels contain less carbon and higher toughness than the high carbon types that are more wear resistant. Shock resistant steels are used where heavy cutting or forming operations is required and chipping or breakage of high-carbon wear-resistant steels is a problem. The other big advantage of this study is to select the range of significant control factors for final experimentation.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Abstract
The Laser cutting characteristics including power level and focal length are investigated in order to obtain
surface roughness with maximum cutting speed. The surface roughness is investigated for a laser power range of
1000–1500W and focal length 122-132, gas pressure 18 bar constant for brass materials. This paper is studied
the effect of focal length on surface roughness 1mm thin brass sheet using an nitrogen as assist gas. The cutting
cross section was measured surface roughness. The variation was analyzed with laser power and focal length.
We use here plasma detector sensor for predetermined cutting speed. The full factorial method is used for
cutting speed and surface roughness. Result revealed that good quality cuts can be produced in brass sheets, at a
window of laser power1500 watt and focal length 122 mm surface roughness is 1.941µm and 7500mm/min
cutting speed is achieved.
I. Introduction
Laser (light amplification by stimulated
emission of radiation) is a coherent and amplified
beam of electromagnetic radiation. The key element in
making a practical laser is the light amplification
achieved by stimulated emission due to the incident
photons of high energy. [1]. Laser cutting of metals
has become a reliable technology for industrial
production. Currently, it is considered as a feasible
alternative to mechanical cutting and blanking due to
its flexibility and ability to process variable quantities
of sheet metal parts in a very short time with very high
programmability and minimum amount of waste.
Laser cutting does not need special fixtures or jigs for
the work piece because it is a non-contact operation.
Additionally, it does not need expensive or replaceable
tools and does not produce mechanical force that can
damage thin or delicate work pieces. [2]. Laser cutting
is the process of melting or vaporizing material in a
very small, well defined area. Processes of heating,
melting, and evaporation are produced by the laser
beam affecting a workpiece surface. A desired cut is
obtained by moving the laser beam along a given
contour. Laser beam is a cutting tool able to cut all
materials, focused into a very small spot diameter
concentrating thousands of Watts. [3] To achieve a
maximum efficiency from the laser, the laser beam
needs to be properly focused on the workpiece. [4].
Various focal length (122,127 & 132 mm) are used for
1mm thin Brass sheet.
II. Experimental Procedure
The experiments were performed on as
received 1 mm thin sheets of brass. Experiments were
conducted using a continuous wave Bhramastra
futurex fiber laser cutting machine with the 2 kW
maximum output power. We cut 25 mm × 25 mm
piece from the brass sheet. Surface roughness was
inspected using Mitutoyo surface roughness tester SJ-
210.

III.Plasma detector sensor
In this paper the cutting speed is decided by
plasma detector sensor as plasma formation starts
cutting speed reduces we consider it as maximum
cutting speed. The cutting speed is predetermined in
sensor. Machining condition changing means for
changing to decrease feeding speed as output of laser
beam radiation which is instructed by said machining
program. When said plasma detection judging means
outputs result judged that said plasma was detected.

to 3.422 μm. Cutting speed is decreases 7500 to 2000
mm/min with increases focal length.
VIII. Conclusion
The effects of focal length and Laser Power
on quality characteristics of laser cut brass specimens
have been studied in this work. As per ANOVA we
can found that the Factor B –focal length is most
significant factor for Surface Roughness of brass 1
mm thin sheet. Improper focal length affects the
surface roughness and cutting speed. Results revealed
that good quality cuts can be produced in brass sheets,
at a window of laser cutting speed 7500 mm/min and
at a power of 1500 Watts surface is 1.491 μm.
