Earth has 4 major connected systems
a. Biosphere- The biosphere is the part of the
Earth that is inhabited by life
b. Hydrosphere- It contains all of Earth’s water,
ice, water vapor
c. Atmosphere- The air
blanketing Earth’s solid
and liquid surface
d. Lithosphere- It is the
solid & outer part of the
earth. Ex. ( Highland,
rocks, sea floor, and
everything below Earth’s
surface)
The Biosphere
1. Life in the Earth System
Biosphere- part of Earth where life
exists & Includes all living and non-living parts.
Ex. Tundras
Deserts
Tropical rain forest
Oceans
Deserts
Tundras
Biota-All the plants and Animal life of a specific
region at a specific time.
Biotic and Abiotic :
1. Biotic – It is
define as anything
relating to living
organisms. Ex.
plants ,animals &
bacteria.
2. Abiotic – It is non
living components in
ecosystem.
Ex. Soil , water &
atmosphere
1. Weather- day to day conditions ,including temp,
atmospheric pressure, wind & humidity.
2. Climate- long term pattern of weather conditions
in a particular area.
2. Climate- long term pattern of weather conditions
Biotic components :
As per biotic components , they includes
plant, animal & micro organisim . These
are also the builder of food chain of
ecosystem.

PLANTS :
Plants are the primary producer , because they produce food through
photosynthesis .
They also known as autotrophs.

Autotrophs : Plant produce their own food
Heterotrophs : They can not produce there own food & depends on
other organism .
Photosynthesis : It is the process in which plant convert light energy
to chemical energy.
Animals :-
These are the consumer & also known as heterotrophs ,
because they can not produce their own food , depends on
another source like plants & other small animals.
Micro-organism :-
It is the major part of the ecosystem.
They decomposed waste or dead material .
Ex. Fungi ,bacteria, viruses, etc…….
