This document provides an overview of biometrics, which uses physiological or behavioral characteristics to identify individuals. It defines biometrics and discusses the two main modes of biometric systems: identification, which compares a signature to multiple records, and verification, which compares a signature to a previously collected record from the same individual. The document outlines various biometric techniques including fingerprint, facial, hand, iris, retina, voice, signature, and keystroke recognition. It also discusses applications of biometrics in security and law enforcement.
Biometrics is the technical term refers to metrics related to human characteristic and it is used in is used in computer science. it is used to identified the individual person in a group
PPT On Biometrics Technology for Engineering student. It contains all the basic of Biometrics. Contents are taken from different sources. I Presented it in 5th semester of B.tech. It is a nice project for engineering students. from Fingerprint to the vein scanning process and voice recognization pattern are explained in a short way.
In this presentation I just tried to give the basic idea about bio-metric system. And the more important thing is how do we implement it in real world scenario for the security concerns.
As we know our day to day life based on passwords and PIN.
So it's possible sometimes for human brain to forget the passwords and PIN and moreover there lots chances in which you may got hacked, Isn't it ?
So keeping all these things in mind why do we implement bio metric as our security concerns right...!

Advances in the field of Information Technology also make Information Security an inseparable part of it. In order to deal with security, Authentication plays an important role. This paper presents a review on the biometric authentication techniques and some future possibilities in this field. In biometrics, a human being needs to be identified based on some characteristic physiological parameters. A wide variety of systems require reliable personal recognition schemes to either confirm or determine the identity of an individual requesting their services. The purpose of such schemes is to ensure that the rendered services are accessed only by a legitimate user, and not anyone else. By using biometrics it is possible to confirm or establish an individual’s identity. The position of biometrics in the current field of Security has been depicted in this work. We have also outlined opinions about the usability of bio-metric authentication systems, comparison between different techniques and their advantages and disadvantages in this paper.

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

2. PRESENTATION OUTLINES
• DEFINITION OF BIOMETRICS
• MODES OF BIOMETRICS
• BIOMETRICS CHARACTERISTICS
• BIOMETRICS RECOGNITION TECHNIQUES
• VARIOUS BIOMETRIC TECHNIQUES
• APPLICATIONS
• CONCLUSION
3. DEFINITION OF BIOMETRICS
• The meaning of Biometrics comes from the Greek
• BIOMETRY= BIO means LIFE & METRY means TO
MEASURE.
• Biometrics is the science and technology of
MEASURING & ANALAYZING BIOLOGICAL DATA.
• Biometrics are automated method of recognizing
a person based on a PHYSIOLOGICAL or
BEHAVIORAL characteristics.
4. MODES OF BIOMETRICS
• Biometric system can operate in two modes.
• Identification
• Verification
6. VERIFICATION
Biometric verification compares a newly-scanned
biometric characteristic to a measurement
previously collected from that same person to
verify that individual’s identity.
9. FINGERPRINT RECOGNITION
• A live acquisition of a persons
fingerprint.
• Dots ( very small ridges)
• Space (between two temporarily
divergent ridges)
• Spurs (a notch protruding from a ridge)
• Bridges (small ridges joining two
longer adjacent ridges)
• Crossovers ( two ridges that cross each
other)
10. FACIAL RECOGNITION
• Capture image
• Find face in image
• Extract features
(store template)
• Compare templates
• Declare matches
11. HAND GEOMETRY
• Hand or finger geometry is automated measurement
of many dimensions of the hand and fingers.
15. SPEAKER/VOICE RECOGNITION
• Voice or speaker recognition uses vocal characteristics
to identify individuals using a pass-phrase.
• A telephone or microphone can serve as a sensor.
16. SIGNATURE VERIFICATION
• An automated method of measuring an
individuals signature.
• This technology examines speed, direction and
pressure of writing; the time that the stylus is in
and out of contact with the ‘paper’
17. KEYSTROKE DYNAMICS
• Keystroke dynamic is an automated method of
examining an individuals keystrokes on keyboard.
• This technology examines such dynamics as speed,
pressure and total time taken to type particular words.
20. APPLICATIONS
• Prevent unauthorized access to ATMs, cellular
phones and desktop PCs
• Criminal Identification
• In automobiles biometric can replace keys with
keyless entry devices
• Airport Security
21. CONCLUSION
• Biometric is an emerging area with many
opportunities for growth.
• Possibly in the near future, you will not have to
remember PINs and password and keys in your
bags or pockets will be things of past.
