Benefits for Local Community

 CO2 neutral for a better environment

 Methane (CH4 a GHG that is 21x more potent than CO2) is
prevented from being released into the atmosphere as a
  result of natural decomposition

 System is also a carbon sequester by trapping some of the
  carbon within the bio char

 Allows community to contribute to the increase in their
own standard of living through more reliable power

 Creates sustainable, local jobs to manage biomass and
  maintain the Power Plant

Editor's Notes

  • #11 first set of bullet points refer to air quality requirements for the lower mainland, and this gasifier exceeds these requirements. co2 neutral, just means all the CO2 released by the system is the same amount fixed by the biomass during it's lifetime. this next point just says, one should utilize biomass for energy because if you leave it in the field, it will decompoe into CH4, and this is 21x worse than CO2 in terms of GHG. this last point is suggesting that some analyses have shown that some of the carbon is trapped in the biochar, never to be released again, so this means this porcess is slightly co2 negative, sequester's some of the carbon.
