MyExperience
Current Employment
I am working as Dy Chief Project Manager at Jaipur in DFCCIL since April 2014. Here, I am responsible for
various project management activities. I am responsible for all electrical works of Jaipur unit having to execute
the project in a stretch of about 300 Kms (Rewari – Madar section), which include electrification (2x25 kV), sub-stations
for general power supply, all E&M works for stations, yards and service buildings, utility shifting, etc.
I had organised detailed training for newly recruited managers/ executives with no railway background at on-going
works of Railway Electrification (Centre for Railway Electrification) and Jaipur Metro to build up their
knowledge and confidence to handle DFC works effectively. A number of utility shifting activities have been
completed and rest are under execution.
Immediate Past
As AGM (Corporate Co-ordination), I reported to the Managing Director of the company, Mr. R.K. Gupta, BE
(Civil), M Dip (PA), FIET, FIE, FIPWE, MIMA.
This is a company formed as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for financing, construction, operation and
management of infrastructure for freight logistics and transportation. In initial phase, two corridors, from Delhi to
Mumbai (Western Corridor) and Ludhiana to Dankuni (Eastern Corridor) totalling a length of about 3300 route km
are under construction capable of carrying long haul/ heavy haul trains as well as double stack container trains
under electrified railway lines. The project cost is about US$ 16 billion.
I worked as Addl. General Manager/Corporate Co-ordination and responsible for Corporate Co-ordination &
Strategic Management in the organisation. I ensure co-ordination between different Project Units, Functional
Units and various ministries associated with the project and other stakeholders. I provide technical assistance to
MD in all project and organisation related issues. I also organise various review meetings and prepared important
communications for ministries, other project authorities and industry.
Initially, I joined as AGM/Electrical and was responsible for preparation of bid documents for eastern corridor
based on World Bank guidelines. I also worked as a team member for co-ordinating funding negotiations from
World Bank. I have also prepared Project Implementation Manual (PIM) and Works Manual for submission to
World Bank.
I have co-ordinated for Green House Gas (GHG) Emission Analysis Study for DFCCIL, which established that
DFCCIL shall be saving over 430 million ton of GHG emission over a period of 30 years. This report was
accepted by World Bank and is part of the Project Appraisal Document (PAD). I am also working on a green
initiative under World Bank’s technical assistance programme for study & development of Driver Advice System
(DAS). DAS is expected to generate instructions for the assistance of loco driver to conserve energy and at the
same time maintain schedule running time-table for the freight trains.
I have also been part of the team involved in procurement of works for Electrical Systems (2x25 kV OHE & sub-stations,
protection systems, SCADA, general power supply arrangement, air-conditioning, etc.). I had also co-ordinated
an International Panel of Experts (IPE) on bidding strategy for different works at DFCCIL.
I have prepared Standard Bid Document (RFQ) for procurement of works on DFCCIL. SBD is under finalisation
at DFCCIL.
