The study evaluated the bio-efficacy of various insecticides against the adult whitefly, Trialeurodes vaporariorum, in tomato crops under field conditions in Chikkamagaluru, India. Results indicated that Thiamethoxam 25% WG was the most effective at reducing the whitefly population, followed by Cyantraniliprole 10% OD and Triazophos 40% EC, with significant reductions observed at 1, 5, 7, and 10 days after application. The study highlights the need for effective insecticides due to the increased resistance of whiteflies to older chemistries and their impact on tomato production.
