STUDY OF BINDING
WIRES
WHAT ARE BINDING WIRES ACTUALLY?
 Binding wires are actually made up of galvanised,
plastic coated annealed and stainless steel wire. It
is soft, has good ductility and high strength, and
can be easily bent and tied into a knot.
 Binding wire with heat treatment will have high
strength and become softer.
 On covering the wire with zinc, its resistance to
corrosion will increase.
MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY OF BINDING
WIRES
 In the first stage, they are billets and then burnt.
 Then in the next stage they are passed under high
pressure through a hole by drawing.
 Therefore it has a circular cross-section.
PHYSICAL PARAMETERS
 Binding wire without coating has a
diameter of 0.16mm to 2mm and a
coated diameter varying from 0.2mm to
2mm.
 The most common use diameter is
0.8mm, 1mm and 1.2mm.
 Resistance: V.mm2/m 0.54 Max.
 Tensile Strength: Map. 220-3454)
 Packing: 0.5 Kg s. net on Steel or
Wooden Reels.
 Technique: Hot Dipped.
 Function: Binding wire.
 Color: Golden or copper clad steel
wire.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS
 Binding reinforcements slabs,
metal mesh processing,
beams, walls, columns and so
on.
 It is used for making ropes,
cables, springs, nails and
electrodes.
 Used in various industries for
packing finished products.
 For the production of welded
wire mesh and for the
manufacture of barbed wire.
DISPOSAL OF BINDING WIRE
 The defective binding wire is collected and then put
into the furnace so as to again convert them into
molten metal.
 This molten metal is then again manufactured into
binding wires.
 This increases the complete usability of the material
without any specific hazard caused to the
atmosphere.
STUDY OF ZINC
SPRAY
WHY DO WE USE ZINC SPRAY?
 Zinc spray galvanising is process
where a coating is applied to a
steel surface by spraying it with
atomized particles of molten zinc.
 The zinc coating provides
excellent corrosion resistance for
steel and iron objects and
structures used in various
environments.
 The method is also used on
sections of objects that cannot be
accessed by dip galvanising.
ZINC SPRAY GALVANISING PROCESS
 It starts with the preparation of the structure’s
surface by removing rust, unwanted surface
coatings, oil and other contaminants.
 The cleaning is done using high-abrasive blasting,
which also roughens the surface. This increases
the surface area and ensures a successful
adherence of zinc coating.
 The atomized metal particles are then sprayed onto
the roughened surface where they attach to the
surface and solidify.

  • 3. WHAT ARE BINDING WIRES ACTUALLY?  Binding wires are actually made up of galvanised, plastic coated annealed and stainless steel wire. It is soft, has good ductility and high strength, and can be easily bent and tied into a knot.  Binding wire with heat treatment will have high strength and become softer.  On covering the wire with zinc, its resistance to corrosion will increase.
  • 4. MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY OF BINDING WIRES  In the first stage, they are billets and then burnt.  Then in the next stage they are passed under high pressure through a hole by drawing.  Therefore it has a circular cross-section.
  • 5. PHYSICAL PARAMETERS  Binding wire without coating has a diameter of 0.16mm to 2mm and a coated diameter varying from 0.2mm to 2mm.  The most common use diameter is 0.8mm, 1mm and 1.2mm.  Resistance: V.mm2/m 0.54 Max.  Tensile Strength: Map. 220-3454)  Packing: 0.5 Kg s. net on Steel or Wooden Reels.  Technique: Hot Dipped.  Function: Binding wire.  Color: Golden or copper clad steel wire.
  • 6. TYPES AND SPECIFICATIONS  Stainless steel binding wire 1. Diameter 3.0mm – 10kgs per coil 2. Diameter 2.5mm – 9.7kgs per coil 3. Diameter 2.0mm – 9kgs per coil 4. Diameter 1.5mm – 8.5kgs per coil 5. Diameter 1.0mm – 8kgs per coil  Galvanised iron binding wire(soft quality) 1. Zinc coated: 70-80 g per square meter. 2. Tensile strength: half hard. 3. Elongation: 380-450 MPa. 4. Coil weight: 50 kg. 5. Wire diameter: 2.0 mm. 6. Spool type: K100 - K150.
  • 7. TYPES AND SPECIFICATIONS  Iron soft wire specification: 1. Zinc coated: no anti- corrosive coating. 2. Tensile strength: soft. 3. Elongation: 200-500 MPa. 4. Coil weight: 30 kg. 5. Wire diameter: 2.0 mm. 6. Spool type: coils.  Iron wire specification: 1. Zinc coated: no anti- corrosive coating. 2. Tensile strength: half hard. 3. Elongation: 500-700 MPa. 4. Coil weight: 50kg, 200 kg. 5. Wire diameter: 2.0 mm. 6. Spool type: coils

  • 9. INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS  Binding reinforcements slabs, metal mesh processing, beams, walls, columns and so on.  It is used for making ropes, cables, springs, nails and electrodes.  Used in various industries for packing finished products.  For the production of welded wire mesh and for the manufacture of barbed wire.
  • 10. DISPOSAL OF BINDING WIRE  The defective binding wire is collected and then put into the furnace so as to again convert them into molten metal.  This molten metal is then again manufactured into binding wires.  This increases the complete usability of the material without any specific hazard caused to the atmosphere.
  • 12. WHY DO WE USE ZINC SPRAY?  Zinc spray galvanising is process where a coating is applied to a steel surface by spraying it with atomized particles of molten zinc.  The zinc coating provides excellent corrosion resistance for steel and iron objects and structures used in various environments.  The method is also used on sections of objects that cannot be accessed by dip galvanising.
  • 13. ZINC SPRAY GALVANISING PROCESS  It starts with the preparation of the structure’s surface by removing rust, unwanted surface coatings, oil and other contaminants.  The cleaning is done using high-abrasive blasting, which also roughens the surface. This increases the surface area and ensures a successful adherence of zinc coating.  The atomized metal particles are then sprayed onto the roughened surface where they attach to the surface and solidify.

  • 16. DISPOSAL OF ZINC SPRAY  Dispose of contents in accordance to local, regional and national regulations  Other hazards: toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.
