This document contains questions about various global trade networks between 1400-1800, including the causes and results of Portuguese and British/Dutch exploration in the Indian Ocean, the effects of European arrival and the Tokugawa shoguns on Japan, the consequences of the silver trade between Spain, Japan and China, similarities and differences between the Russian and North American fur trades, the causes and outcomes of the Atlantic slave trade, and comparisons between it and other historical forms of slavery. It asks the reader to analyze changes and continuities in global commerce during this period by providing two examples of each.
