This study examined the effect of Panchagavya, a liquid mixture made from cow products, on the microbial degradation of vegetable and fruit wastes during vermicomposting. The vermicomposts produced with Panchagavya had higher microbial activity, as well as improved pH, carbon/nitrogen ratio, organic carbon, nitrogen and other nutrient levels compared to those without Panchagavya. The results indicate that Panchagavya enhanced the microbial decomposition and nutrient mineralization of wastes during composting.
