Mr. Narendra Modi launched the BHIM app in December 2017 as a revolutionary digital payment platform. BHIM, which stands for Bharat Interface for Money, allows for fast, secure, and reliable cashless payments through mobile phones. It connects directly to users' bank accounts through UPI and allows for money transfers of up to Rs. 20,000 per day. BHIM has advantages over other payment apps as it can be used without internet by dialing *99# and does not charge fees for transactions. However, it currently only supports Android devices and some state bank cards have issues generating UPI PINs.

digital payment . The app called ‘ BHIM‘ which was launched on 30th
December .
Bharat Interfacefor Money (BHIM) is an initiative to enable fast, secure, reliable
cashless payments through your mobile phone. BHIMwhich stands for” Bharat
InterfaceFor Money” developed & designed by the National Payment
Corporation of India (NPCI). BHIMis madein India and dedicated to the serviceof
the nation. This app is available on Google Play Storefor free with sizeof only
1.90 mb so that all android devices supportit this makes this app accessiblefor all
smartphone users irrespectiveof costly mobile phone. Currently it has not been
rooled out for IOS and WINDOWS operating system.
So what can BHIM app do & how it is very user friendly ?
 This is the only mobile payment app which is available in English as well as
Hindi , which makes it assessableto thosepeople who are not much literate
or do not havemuch knowledgeabout English , it is going to be launched in
other regional and local languages in upcoming updates.
 All paymentare done using secured network of UPI i.e. Unified Payment
Interfacewhich makes this app safeto use.
 BHIMapp associates your app to your bank account through UPI PIN. This
UPI PINis generated by providing users registered mobile number of user
and details of debit/credit card . Thus all money is directly transfered from
one account to another 24X 7.
 Itprovides three option to transfer money which are
 Scan And pay Option – This option provides transfer money by scanning
any of BHIMbar code .
 Request Money option – Here the user can requestmoney fromany
person .
 Direct Bank To Bank Transfer.
 This app has daily limit of Rs . 20,000 and one time limit of RS. 10000

2. HOW BHIM EXCEEDS OTHER PAYMENTAPPS LIKE PAYTM , FREECHARGE,
MOBIWIKETC.
 The biggest advantage of this BHIMapp over other e – payment platform
apps is it could be used without internet connectivity . User justneed to
dail *99#on the dialer screen and entire features of this apps wiil be
displayed on the screen.
 Payment can be done to any person who has not the app installed or using
the app , only thing required is persons UPI PIN.If itis also not available
then also payment can be done through IFSCCODE.
 BHIMapp links to user bank account . Like other apps PAYTM , Mobiwik ,
Freechargeit does not requireto add money in apps wallet to send money
, it operates directly through bank account.
 All e – paymentplatform apps chargearound 1 – 4 % for any transaction
but BHIMis completely free of any charges.
 Person who is not using mobile banking can usethis app.
MINOR ISSUES WITH THE BHIM APP
 There are some minor bugs in generating OTP and UPI PINin state bank
mastreo ATM cards.
 Can not be used by peope not using debit/credit/atm cards.
 Its available on Google Play Store as about 40 other fakeapps are available
on playstore, which may lead to confused users and frauds.
 Itdoes not involverecharges and payment.
