has also partnered with premium educational
institutions in India and introduced cashless
payments for bills, fees, and other expenses.

The PhonePe app was introduced
by the eCommerce giant Flipkart
to take on PayTM, Mobikwik and
other similar apps. PhonePe is
easy to use, secure and fast.
PhonePe lets users manage
several bank accounts at a time. It
supports refunds and has the
option to transfer wallet balance
to the bank account. It enables
customers to pay at retail stores.

The first UPI app in the list of best UPI
apps is BHIM UPI app. This app is
developed and released by NPCI. It is
perhaps the simplest and fastest UPI app
available. BHIM UPI app has all the UPI
features. These include sending or
requesting money, changing or setting
UPI PIN, checking balance and
generating QR codes etc. You can send
money using VPA, mobile number or QR
code of the beneficiary.

Mobikwik is the top competitor of
PayTM. It provides cash back when you
buy products from leading sites.
Mobikwik allows you to pay electricity,
gas, Internet, landline, and various other
bills.
Mobikwik lets you complete transaction
on the IRCTC website. If you have loaded
your wallet with a lot of money and you
don’t like traveling by train, you can
book a bus ticket on a supported site
and check out with the Mobikwik app.

State Bank of India launched mobile
wallet application to let users pay bills,
recharge, transfer money to other bank
accounts and users, book for hotels,
movies, shopping as well as travel.
This semi-closed prepaid wallet serves in
13 languages and is made available for
non-SBI customers too. SBI buddy app
enables you to make online transactions
quickly. Registering an account with this
app is easy. Once your account is ready,
you can send money to the numbers in
your contact list easily.

In today’s day and age Mobile Payment has become of paramount importance especially
in our country where the PM’s initiative since the past couple of years has been to
promote Digital India and it has shown a lot of changes in our society within this
timeframe. These mobile payment/ E-wallet applications have successfully promoted this
cause and their upsurge in popularity is clearly evident. Various shopping sites in our
country have already added these apps in their payment gateway and now even offline
vendors and shopkeepers have started implementing these apps as their source of
transaction medium. This initiative needs to go on to ensure that our country’s mission of
Digital India is facilitated.
