Delinquent Behaviour

Main differences
 In Norway schools don’t have a schoolyard.
Students are free during their break to spend
their time wherever they want near school
and return to the class for the next lesson.
 In Greece schools have a specific schoolyard
which is restricted and the central door is
locked until the end of lessons. Pupils have
their break into this limited space.
 In Norway schools don’t use the bell.
Students have their break according to the
clock which is in the classroom. Students are
very punctual, they check their time and
return to the classroom on time.
 In Greece there are specific breaks and the
bell is programmed to ring according to
them. Students follow the bell but a lot of
times they are late to return in class although
the bell has already rung.
 In Norway there is not a limit of absences and
there is not a teacher who is responsible for
student’s absences. Teachers decide about
the promotion of the students without taking
into consideration the number of absences.
 In Greece students can have 114 absences
(50 unjustifiable-64 justifiable). Parents are
often informed for their children’s absences
from the class teacher who is in charge to
check the absences.

Students seem to like to have their break
wherever they want
 Do teachers think that it is a good practice?
Yes, teachers are in favor of this practice. They
want their students to feel free
 What are the benefits?
Freedom, independence, responsibility, rest
 This practice is easy enough to be applied if
the central door of school is not locked
 It would be very useful if teachers shown
more trust in their students
 This practice presuppose the change of law
about school’s life protection
 Is it applied at all schools in the region or was it
a school initiative?
All schools
 Do students seem to like this practice?
Yes, because they don’t feel anxiety about the
break and they are more attentive to the lesson
 Do teachers think that it is a good practice?
Yes, because students learn to be punctual.
 What are the benefits?
Students feel that they are responsible for
managing their time
 Easily, if schools in Greece abolish the ring
bell
 Teachers have to let the students to manage
their time and their break
 Students have to check their time and return
to the classroom on time
 Is it applied at all schools in the region or was it
a school initiative?
All schools
 Do students seem to like this practice?
Yes, they like this practice
 Do teachers think that it is a good practice?
Yes, they are in favor of this practice
 What are the benefits?
Students learn to responsibility and punctuality
 This practice is very difficult to be applied in
Greek Schools because the legal matrix does
not protect the teacher who is responsible to
check student’s absences and inform their
parents

  • 2. http://arbere.eu/illegalbehaviour Main differences  In Norway schools don’t have a schoolyard. Students are free during their break to spend their time wherever they want near school and return to the class for the next lesson.  In Greece schools have a specific schoolyard which is restricted and the central door is locked until the end of lessons. Pupils have their break into this limited space.
  • 3.  In Norway schools don’t use the bell. Students have their break according to the clock which is in the classroom. Students are very punctual, they check their time and return to the classroom on time.  In Greece there are specific breaks and the bell is programmed to ring according to them. Students follow the bell but a lot of times they are late to return in class although the bell has already rung.
  • 4.  In Norway there is not a limit of absences and there is not a teacher who is responsible for student’s absences. Teachers decide about the promotion of the students without taking into consideration the number of absences.  In Greece students can have 114 absences (50 unjustifiable-64 justifiable). Parents are often informed for their children’s absences from the class teacher who is in charge to check the absences.

Students seem to like to have their break wherever they want  Do teachers think that it is a good practice? Yes, teachers are in favor of this practice. They want their students to feel free  What are the benefits? Freedom, independence, responsibility, rest
  • 6.  This practice is easy enough to be applied if the central door of school is not locked  It would be very useful if teachers shown more trust in their students  This practice presuppose the change of law about school’s life protection
  • 7.  Is it applied at all schools in the region or was it a school initiative? All schools  Do students seem to like this practice? Yes, because they don’t feel anxiety about the break and they are more attentive to the lesson  Do teachers think that it is a good practice? Yes, because students learn to be punctual.  What are the benefits? Students feel that they are responsible for managing their time
  • 8.  Easily, if schools in Greece abolish the ring bell  Teachers have to let the students to manage their time and their break  Students have to check their time and return to the classroom on time
  • 9.  Is it applied at all schools in the region or was it a school initiative? All schools  Do students seem to like this practice? Yes, they like this practice  Do teachers think that it is a good practice? Yes, they are in favor of this practice  What are the benefits? Students learn to responsibility and punctuality
  • 10.  This practice is very difficult to be applied in Greek Schools because the legal matrix does not protect the teacher who is responsible to check student’s absences and inform their parents
