Bernard Adongo proposes using mobile internet and social media to make public transportation safer, more comfortable, and enjoyable in Kenya. His company, NikoHapa Ventures Ltd, has created an app called MyRide that allows passengers on public service vehicles (PSVs) to rate their rides and report any issues or complaints to PSV operators, other passengers, and transportation authorities. This helps multiply the number of "incorruptible police officers" monitoring PSVs by facilitating communication among all parties. MyRide has already partnered with several PSV companies and corporations to pilot the app on over 1,500 vehicles, with the aim of improving road safety and holding PSVs accountable for providing good service.
