As the president of Ashber Corporation in Austin, Texas, Bruce Furst licenses music to film productions, conducting negotiations for film rights and distribution agreements. A graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), Bruce Furst is an active member of the UCLA Alumni Association.
A Minden, Louisiana resident, Sherb Sentell graduated from the Louisiana State University Law School and was ranked 5th in his law school class. Sherb now serves as a partner at his own law firm, the Sentell Law Firm LLC, in Minden. Sherb Sentell also serves as a city judge in the state of Louisiana, where he oversees felonies, misdemeanors, and civil cases, all of which may involve auto accidents or injuries from an automobile (see https://www.mindenla.org/city-court/). As a rural judge who is allowed to also maintain a private law practice representing injured clients, Sherb Sentell maintains a unique analytical legal perspective.
When asked about the legal principle of duty, Sentell said, “several factors and aspects will determine whether a person is legally liable (found to be negligent) when involved in a car accident.” One broad legal principle that is required for a finding of negligence is that a person has a legal duty to always act in a careful manner and act reasonably as a prudent person would under similar circumstances. This principle applies to many situations, such as a property owner properly maintaining a building, and a surgeon treating patients according to accepted medical standards and practices. In the case of driving, a driver breaches their duty when they fail to obey the laws such as speeding or passing in a no passing zone. Drivers can also breach their duty by negligence, such as by failing to pay attention, texting and driving, or falling asleep. In such situations, the person is driving in such a way that it might be expected that someone would be injured or that there would be damage to property, and that negligence makes them legally liable for breaching the duty of care owed to others. Sherb Sentell and the Sentell Law Firm LLC have successfully handled many personal injury automobile accident cases and helped many clients injured by others (see https://sentelllawfirm.com/).
Fixing the Right of Passage from an Enclosed EstateSherb Sentell III
Sherb Sentell has been the elected Judge of the Minden Ward 1 City Court located in Minden, Louisiana, since 2014. While attending Louisiana State University Law School, Sherb Sentell published an article in the Louisiana Law Review which has been frequently downloaded and cited by courts and lawyers as a guide when dealing with a landlocked enclosed estate that does not have access to a public road.
Appearing in Volume 54, Number 6 of the Louisiana Law Review, this article is titled "Fixing the Right of Passage from an Enclosed Estate: Deciding where to break out using Louisiana Civil Code Article 692.” The article serves as a how-to reference for any attorney representing a landowner of an enclosed estate without direct access to a public road.
Louisiana Civil Code Article 692 stipulates that owners of enclosed estates have the right to access a public road via servitude over the neighboring property. However, the code fails to stipulate which neighboring property should provide this access.
The law review article concludes that courts should generally invoke Article 692 by allowing access across the shortest of all available ground transportation routes. In other words, the neighboring property that provides the shortest route to the nearest public road should usually be burdened with providing the access route. Courts should only deviate from this general rule when it is not practically viable to construct an access road that uses the shortest route. For example, when the shortest route would require the construction of a major bridge across water but a slightly longer route would traverse unimproved property, the court can deviate from the normal rule. Once the determination is made as to which neighboring property must supply the servitude, then the court can consider the least burdensome route across the property burdened with the servitude.
Even though Sherb Sentell is the Minden Ward 1 City Judge, he is still allowed to practice law in all other courts. Sentell maintains an active practice with his father at the Sentell Law Firm LLC (sentelllawfirm.com). If you ever need assistance with determining how you can gain access to a public road from your enclosed and landlocked property, please contact Sherb Sentell at Sentell Law Firm LLC at (318) 377-0123.
The re-elected judge of Minden-Ward 1 City Court in Louisiana, Sherb Sentell is also a Brig. General in the U.S. Army Reserve. He graduated as a Distinguished Military Graduate from the ROTC program of Davidson College. A product of the elite Army Ranger School, Sherb Sentell was an 82nd Airborne Division Ranger infantry platoon leader during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. Sherb is honored to have served in the 82nd Airborne Division.
The 82nd Airborne Division is based in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and acknowledged as the home of the Airborne and Special Operations forces. The main fighting arm of the XVIII Airborne Corps, the 82nd is an airborne infantry division of the Army. Its aim is to, within 18-hours notice, strategically position and execute forcible entry parachute assault. Also, the 82nd is tasked with protecting primary objectives for subsequent military operations.
Formed in 1917, the division’s more recent engagements include deployment in Panama in 1989 in Operation Just Cause. It was also involved in “drawing the line in the desert” against Saddam Hussein during the Gulf War. Aside from military operations, the division has performed humanitarian missions all over the world.
BG Sherb Sentell currently serves in the 377th TSC headquarter in New Orleans, LA. Sherb Sentell also maintains a private law practice with his father at the Sentell Law Firm, LLC in Minden, LA.
Serving as a city judge for Minden-Ward 1 in the state of Louisiana, Sherb Sentell presides over civil disputes of up to $35,000, as well as adjudicates both juvenile misdemeanor and felony offenses and adult misdemeanor offenses. Sherb Sentell is also a Brigadier General in the US Army Reserves and has been the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal on two occasions: once for his meritorious service in Operation Desert Storm, and again for his participation in the Operation Iraqi Freedom III.
The Bronze Star Medal is awarded to any individual who has served in the US military in any capacity after December 6, 1941. This individual must have distinguished themselves for bravery and praiseworthy achievement or service without participating in aerial flight. The military service must have also been rendered while fighting an enemy of the US, or while the US was involved in a conflict with a foreign force. It may also be awarded as recognition for heroism while serving with friendly forces in combat against another military force, in which the US was not a hostile party.
The Bronze Star Medal was the response of President Franklin Roosevelt to a letter he received from General George Marshall, the Army Chief of Staff during World War II. In his letter, General Marshall expressed concern for the infantry riflemen whose lives were marked by misery and discomfort on the ground, and that he felt that these soldiers need to be lifted from their low morale, lest they suffer more losses. The letter further cited that the Air Medal, a recognition given to airmen two years earlier, had boosted the morale of airmen.
On February 4, 1944, President Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9419 authorizing the awarding of the Bronze Star Medal to deserving servicemen, retroactive to December 7, 1941. As the Minden City Judge, Sherb Sentell is allowed to maintain an active law practice and handle civil cases for private clients.
In January 2015, Sherb Sentell took office as Minden-Ward 1 City Judge in Louisiana. He concurrently serves as a partner of his law firm, Sentell Law Firm, LLC, which focuses on trial litigation in cases brought against building contractors, oil and gas law, contract law, and personal injury and wrongful death claims.
A Colonel in the US Army Reserve, Sherb Sentell also serves as an elected city judge for Minden-Ward 1 in Minden, Louisiana. As the Minden City Court judge, Judge Sentell has jurisdiction over six municipalities and the south half of Webster Parish. 2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
