The re-elected judge of Minden-Ward 1 City Court in Louisiana, Sherb Sentell is also a Brig. General in the U.S. Army Reserve. He graduated as a Distinguished Military Graduate from the ROTC program of Davidson College. A product of the elite Army Ranger School, Sherb Sentell was an 82nd Airborne Division Ranger infantry platoon leader during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. Sherb is honored to have served in the 82nd Airborne Division. The 82nd Airborne Division is based in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and acknowledged as the home of the Airborne and Special Operations forces. The main fighting arm of the XVIII Airborne Corps, the 82nd is an airborne infantry division of the Army. Its aim is to, within 18-hours notice, strategically position and execute forcible entry parachute assault. Also, the 82nd is tasked with protecting primary objectives for subsequent military operations. Formed in 1917, the division’s more recent engagements include deployment in Panama in 1989 in Operation Just Cause. It was also involved in “drawing the line in the desert” against Saddam Hussein during the Gulf War. Aside from military operations, the division has performed humanitarian missions all over the world. BG Sherb Sentell currently serves in the 377th TSC headquarter in New Orleans, LA.
