Outside of the office, one of his favorite pastimes is hunting, especially deer hunting. Sherb enjoys taking his children hunting with him. Whether they get any game or not, they always have a good time riding the four-wheeler and just enjoying the outdoors. However, Sentell believes it is important for people to know the regulations before they go hunting.

3. Louisiana's deer hunting season generally runs
from October to January for Area 2, which
includes Minden and Northwest Louisiana. The
state is divided into 10 areas, each with its own
assigned dates and regulations. Deer hunting
shooting hours are limited to one half-hour
before sunrise until one half-hour after sunset.
Regardless of the region, all hunters in Louisiana
must obtain deer tags prior to hunting so they
can tag each deer with the date and parish in
which they harvested it before removing it from
the site.
4. Within seven days, hunters must also
validate their kills using the validation phone
number or the validation website. Louisiana
also limits the number of deer each hunter
can take daily, as well as throughout the
season. In general, the daily bag limits are
one antlered and one antlerless (when
legal). The season possession limit is six deer;
not to exceed 3 antlered or 4 antlerless.
