Background of BBC TWO
• BBC TWO covers a wide range of subject matter, but tending
    towards more 'highbrow' programmes than the more
    mainstream and popular BBC One. Like the BBC's other
    domestic TV and radio channels, it is funded by the television
    license, and is therefore commercial-free.
•   BBC Two's remit historically was one screening programmes
    targeting art, drama and some comedy, and appealing to
    audiences not already served by BBC1 or ITV.
•   It gives viewers a different viewing so that they can watch
    something different to other mainstream programmes e.g.
    Soap operas and popular drama series appear on BBC1 or
    ITV. BBC TWO provides a different viewing and a larger range
    of variety.
•   Another founding part of BBC Two was to provide educational
    and community programming on the BBC, as part of its public
    service remit.
•   Launched on the 20 April 1964 based in London
Ethos and Purpose
• Popular Factual, Specialist Factual and Documentaries
• The ability to launch ambitious factual programmes – the
  lifeblood of the channel's identity – at the core of the peak-time
  schedule is the most important task.
• BBC TWO is the natural home for lively presenters with
  something to say and a passion to communicate what they
  know.
• What makes BBC TWO truly unique is not just the quality of its
  creative ambition but also providing the wide and eclectic mix
  of what viewers find interesting.
• BBC TWO is a broad-based mainstream channel that naturally
  skews to an older audience. However our key focus is to
  appeal to a heartland of viewers aged 35-54 and to reach out
  to a more culturally diverse audience.
Our Documentary
• We feel that our documentary fits into this category of
 television shows. It gives our presenter the chance to
 communicate with the audience about something that
 really interests him in his local area. We feel that our
 documentary is individual and gives us a chance to be
 creative with what we want to film.
