2. BIG CENTRE TV
• Big Centre TV is a local TV channel for Birmingham, Walsall,
Wolverhampton, Solihull and The Black Country. It broadcasts on Freeview
channel 8 in the UK.
• The station was launched at 6pm on the 28th February 2015.
• Proceeded by a test card and music, ending with the Electric Light
Orchestra's "Mr. Blue Sky". Opening night programming included an
hour-long introduction to the channel, a special edition of the
station's news programme The Midland, a 1981 episode of
Crossroads and coverage of an ice hockey league match. These
were aired alongside two of the station's feature programmes, Life
Stories and Project M.

Mike Prince
Director of Programmes, Birmingham born and raised. 45 years plus in
broadcast TV in a number of on-screen, production and management roles.
Formerly with ATV, Central Television and several other ITV companies.
Former Chief Executive of Winchester Television. Creator, producer and sales
distributor of children’s programmes with international success
Chris Perry
Channel Director, born and raised in The Black Country.
Writer, TV historian, publisher and owner of Kaleidoscope
Publishing and Kaleidoscope Archive. Consultant and
programme maker for the BBC, ITV and British Film
Institute. Former Head teacher and Deputy Head teacher .
Clare Bramley
Commercial Director, Cotswolds-based former CEO of Canis Media, COO
Comux UK, Head of Media Marketing at British Telecom Clare has launched
and managed dozens of TV channels and is an award-winning TV news
producer.

4. Bob Hall
Head of News and Sport, former Central TV sports presenter Bob has worked for
the BBC, ITV, ITN and Channel 4 on all the major sports shows since the early-
1980s. He is best-known to viewers across the UK for his work as a football
reporter on many networked ITV sports shows.
Nick Tiday
Head of Sales, from Warwickshire, and formerly with Wedding TV, Bride Click,
Horse & Country TV and GCAP Media he has over 10 years media sales
experience in a leadership role that covers TV, Digital and Print. Nick
specialises in connecting niche audiences to media outlets.
Jennifer Meierhans
Senior Producer and Presenter, a Shropshire native and a new face to
Midlands TV viewers but no stranger to the region’s news. Jennifer qualified
as a journalist at the City of Wolverhampton College, and within four years had
risen to chief reporter at her hometown newspaper - the Shropshire Star.

5. KALEIDOSCOPE TV
• Kaleidoscope TV Ltd is a privately held company
registered in the UK. It is owned by Chris Perry, Mike
Prince and Gordon Haddock.
• Ofcom-licensed in the year of 2014 and it then launched in
February 2015. It is owned by Kaleidoscope TV Ltd, and
headquarters are at Walsall Studio School in the West Midlands.
The studio school is a key partner for Kaleidoscope TV.
• Catered for 14-19 year olds, it allows young people to achieve
industry-recognised qualifications, build relationships with
employers and get into employment or higher education which is
university.
• Big Centre TV utilises the school’s state-of-the-art technical
facilities and students train alongside experienced TV broadcasters
professionals.

6. • The channel is the largest UK local channel outside London. It is
transmitted from the Sutton Coldfield and Brierley Hill antennae to
an estimated audience of 2.3m viewers on Freeview. That is its
primary broadcast platform. The channel offers a wide range of
genuinely local content featuring live news, sport, entertainment
and children's programmes. The channel is a commercial entity,
offering local and national advertisers and brands an integrated
range of audience engagement and opportunities.

12. BBC TV
• The BBC is the world's leading public service broadcaster. Its
mission is to enrich people's lives with programmes that inform,
educate and entertain it was established by a Royal Charter.
The BBC is a public service broadcaster funded by the licence
fee paid by UK households. They use the income from the
licence fee to provide services which include 10 national TV
channels plus regional programming, 10 national radio stations,
40 local radio stations and an extensive website.
• BBC World Service broadcasts to the world on radio, TV and
online, providing news and information in 27 languages and
world service English language. They also have a commercial
arm, BBC Worldwide as well as a number of other commercial
ventures. Profits from these activities are returned to the BBC
for investment in new programming and services.

Tony Hall
Tony Hall is the 16th Director-General of the BBC.

responsibility for a global workforce running services across television, radio
and online.
The BBC is UK-based international public service broadcaster, the world's

Helen Boaden
Helen has overall responsibility for BBC Radios 1, 2, 3, 4, and the BBC digital
radio stations 1Xtra, 6Music, BBC Radio 4 Extra, and Asian Network.
She also oversees the BBC Performing Groups, the BBC Proms, classical
music & performance television, factual radio and radio drama production.
BBC Radio produces outstanding creative content across all its networks on a
