 The display all kinds of information , including text, graphics and animation.
 This project is about to making a portable Bluetooth Controlled 4 Monochromatic
LED matrix(8*8) for displaying scrolling text messages.
 We made this display to use at head of department cabin for displaying name by
Mr. S. Mallikarjun Reddy.
 The text data to be displayed can be send from a smartphone using the Bluetooth
connection
 The display is Arduino controlled and we uses the Bluetooth SPP pro app on my
android
phone for sending text message to the matrix display(Max7219).

ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION
 In this world of information, fluent transfer of information is important.
Starting from receiving data to displacing data, the electronic devices
has played significant role.
 In this project Arduino is used as a controlled to command the Light
Emitting Diode (LED). the Arduino UNO used.
 The information regarding the display content is send to LED display
through HC-05 Bluetooth of Android phone.
 The information displayed will scroll from right to left over and over
again.

COMPONENTS
1) Bluetooth SPP PRO APP:
 The Bluetooth SPP PRO APP and its settings to need the requirements of this
project. It is a Bluetooth client communication tool developed by JERRY.LI for
android platform.
 It allows to transfer data from your smart phone to the HC-05 Module in ASCII or
HEX format.
 Ones connected to the HC-05 module , the main menu shows The Three data
transfer options namely
byte stream
key-board
command line mode
 Command line mode displays the text in LED matrix display.

2) ARDUINO UNO:
 Arduino is a open source electronics community.
 We developed an Arduino sketch for scrolling text display.
 The Arduino firmware is also capable of receiving user command for
controlling the scrolling speed and brightness level of the display.

3) LED:
 LED ( LIGHT EMTTING DIODE) is an electronic display module
 Each module consists of an monochromatic LED DOT MATRIX with
an board MAX7219 driver chip
 16 Brightness levels controlled through software

4) 74HC595 SHIFT REGISTER:
 An 8bit shift register with series to parallel capability
 We use two of them, each one controlling Eight Rows/
Columns

WORKING:
Initially power supply fed to the ARDUINO through
9volts adaptor
5volt supply is fed to the LED MAX7219 and also to
the HC-05 Bluetooth
The executed program code is dumped in Arduino
to HC-05 Bluetooth for pairing with smartphone
The required text is entered in the smartphone that
will be displayed on the LED display through
Arduino

 Message can be displayed on display with a single press
 Low power consumption
 User friendly interface
 Efficient design
 No message charges as compared with GSM
 Reduces the use of paper for information sharing.

Future scope:
FUTURE SCOPE Multiple receiver MODEMS at the different positions in a
geographical area carrying duplicate (cloned) SIM Cards.
Multilingual display
Graphical Display
Use of MMS technology
In future every text wiil be displayed in digital format, for that it plays a
major role.
Ex: Metro stations
