5. OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT:-
Parking is a critical component of urban
transportation systems
Finding a parking spot can be
frustrating for drivers
Smart Parking Management System
is a solution that helps reduce traffic
congestion and improves parking
efficiency
This system which we made uses IoT and an application
to provide real-time information about parking
availability and occupancy
6. WORKING:-
Our Smart Parking Management System using IoT
and mobile application operates using a
combination of hardware and software
components to streamline the parking process
We also added LI-FI Technology by sending the
generated code by user after booking or payment
done, in the form of Light Signal.
An LDR is used to read the light signal & it is connected to
data base via Arduino & Nodemcu.
The system uses IoT sensors, mobile devices, cloud
computing, and data analytics to provide real-time parking
information to drivers and parking lot operators.
9. Arduino Uno
The Arduino Uno is an open-
source microcontroller board based on
the Microchip
on ATmega328P microcontroller and
developed by Arduino.cc
The board has 14 digital I/O pins
(six capable of PWM output), 6
analog I/O pins, and is
programmable with the Arduino IDE
It can be powered by a USB cable or a barrel connector that
accepts voltages between 7 and 20 volts, such as a
rectangular 9volt battery
10. Uno communicates using the original STK500 protocol, it
differs from all preceding boards in that it does not use
a FTDI USB-to-UART serial chip.
Instead, it uses the
Atmega16U2 (Atmega8U2 up
to version R2) programmed as
a USB-to-serial converter
11. IR Sensor
An IR sensor is a type of electronic sensor
that detects and measures infrared
radiation in its surrounding environment
IR sensors can be used for
Temperature sensing,
motion detection,and
distance measurement.
12. Components of an IR sensor include an
infrared source, an optical component such
as a lens, and a detector or receiver
When an object or surface is placed in front
of the sensor, it absorbs or reflects some of the
IR radiation emitted by the source.
The optical component focuses the IR radiation onto the detector or
receiver, which then converts the radiation into an electrical signal that
can be processed by an electronic circuit.
13. Node MCU
NodeMCU is an open-source Lua based
firmware and development board specially
targeted for IoT based Applications
Runs on the ESP8266 Wi-Fi SoC from
Espressif Systems, and hardware which
is based on the ESP-12 module.
It is similar to Arduino, it can be programmed using the
Arduino IDE software. It has ten General Purpose
Input/Output pins for connecting to external devices
14. The ESP8266 NodeMCU has total 17 GPIO pins broken out to
the pin headers on both sides of the development board
The Operating Voltage Range Of ESP8266 Is 3V To 3.6v
15. LDR Module:-
1. LDR sensor stands for Light Dependent
Resistor sensor
2. An LDR is a type of resistor whose resistance
varies depending on the amount of light
falling on it. When exposed to light, the
resistance of an LDR decreases, and when it is
in the dark, the resistance increases.
16. Servo meter:-
A servo motor is a type of electric motor that is commonly used
in control systems and automation applications where precise and
accurate control of position, velocity, or acceleration is required. It
consists of a motor, a feedback mechanism, and a control circuit.
17. 16 x 2 LCD display
• An LCD 16x2 (Liquid Crystal Display
16 columns by 2 rows) is a type of
alphanumeric display commonly
used in electronic devices such as
calculators, clocks, and small
appliances.
• The display consists of 16 columns
and 2 rows of characters, allowing
it to display up to 32 characters at
once.
19. • The Arduino IDE (Integrated Development
Environment) is a software tool used to program and
develop code for Arduino boards.
• It provides an easy-to-use graphical interface and a
simplified programming language based on C++ for
developing and uploading code to Arduino boards.
• The Arduino IDE allows users to write, compile, and upload
code to their Arduino board
ARDUINO IDE SOFTWARE
first launched in 2005
21. • Kodular is a free and open-source online platform that
allows users to create mobile applications for Android
devices without the need for any coding knowledge
• It is based on the MIT App Inventor and uses a drag-
and-drop interface to make app development
accessible to everyone.
• One of the key features of Kodular is its ability to
integrate with various third-party services, such as
Google Maps, Firebase, and AdMob, which can be
used to enhance the functionality of an app

23. APPLICATIONS
• Real-time parking information
• Automated payments
• Efficient use of parking spaces
• Reduced traffic congestion
• Improved customer experience
• Reduced carbon footprint
28. • The smart parking management system using IoT and mobile
application is a promising solution to tackle the increasing
parking problems in urban areas
• It has the potential to revolutionize the parking industry and
improve the quality of life for urban residents by reducing
traffic congestion and minimizing the time and energy wasted
on finding parking spots.
