of matter, so it cannot be transformed into simpler substance.
Example: gold, copper, silver, mercury, sodium, calcium, carbon
2. COMPOUND- consist of two or more elements chemically combined
in a definite proportion by mass.
Example: table salt or NaCl, Hydrogen preoxide
