Baseball is traditionally considered the
national pastime of the United States. It was
once thought to have been invented 1839 by
Abner Doubleday in Cooperstown, N.Y., but
it is more likely that baseball developed from
an 18th-century English game called rounders
that was modified by Alexander Cartwright.
7. A pitcher intentionally throws at a
batter.
The pitcher shall be ejected if the act is judged to be
intentional. In case of doubt, the umpire may first warn
the pitcher.
8. Immediate Ejection of Pitcher
If the first instance of an intentional pitch being
thrown at a batter in a game results in a pitcher
being immediately ejected, the umpire shall issue a
warning to both managers that subsequent
violations in that game will result in ejection of the
pitcher and manager. Each subsequent pitcher
should be warned as he enters the game.
9. Who can be Ejected in Baseball?
The rules of baseball claims that umpires are not
restricted to ruling on players, coaches or
managers. They further state that an umpire has
authorization from MLB to eject groundkeepers,
ushers, photographers, and media personnel who
are not supposed to be on the field or are interfering
with the game.

pitch after it
bounces?
MYTH: A pitch that bounces to
the plate cannot be hit.
FACT: A pitch is a ball delivered
to the batter by the pitcher. It
doesn’t matter how it gets to the
batter. The batter may hit any
pitch that is thrown. A pitch
that bounces before reaching
the plate may never be called
strike or a legally caught third
strike.

pitcher fake
a throw to
second?
The pitcher is still allowed to
fake a throw to second base
while it contact with the
rubber provide that he steps
towards second. Take note
that a pitcher, when faking
throw to second base, is not
required to have arm motion in
a fake, although a legal step is
required.
